Backstory: Twenty years ago, before Laurynn was even born was the war between Tarrance and Avalon. Harold and Orla lived in a small village in Avalon. When men were to be drafted to fight, they found out Orla was pregnant with Alyssa. Harold didn't want to go off, fight, possibly die in battle and never get to be there for his family, so one night they fled to a village on the border of Tarrance. There they settled and have since stayed, keeping the secret they they were from Avalon. If the secret got out, they'd probably be killed. In this village, Harold is the dairyman, each day selling milk from his own cow by cart and horse. They're poor, but happy. They also follow the traditions that they've always known because it keeps them safe from suspicions. Alyssa, Laurynn, Ava, Chloe, and Lily were born and taught from a young age how to clean the home, wash the clothes, cook, milk the cow, all the duties they would need to become the perfect bride. The older three sisters are known as a dynamic trio; Alyssa being the Mother Hen, Laurynn the Songbird, and Ava the Little Bird. They are seen together the majority of the time. Laurynn is excited for Mayu, the village Matchmaker, to make her a match, wanting to snag one of the men from a more well off family. First Alyssa needs to be matched, but she doesn't want to because she's in love with a poor tailor and childhood friend, Logan. There's a constant pull back and forth over this; marry for love and break tradition or be safe and do what's expected.
