Backstory: Ruby was born in the coastal town of Brighton, England, where her parents ran a bar near the beach. Ever since she was a young girl she had felt this connection with the sea. Growing up near the water, she spent much of her childhood swimming in the water and exploring the rock pools and caves of the coast.

However, when she was 16 her parents sold their little bar, deciding to move abroad. Ruby's parents bought a bar on the coast of Spain, in between Alicante and Benidorm. Initially frustrated with the move, Ruby quickly came to appreciate the warm Mediterranean sea, and continued to swim and explore there.

One day, she and couple of guys she met at her new school decided to take a trip to a small island just off the coast and camp there. Although once there the boys just wanted to try to hook up with her, and so she split off and went off alone.

As the moon began to rise, Ruby was looking for somewhere to pitch her tent when she found a cave she decided she could sleep in. And it was when she explored deeper she discovered a tight crawl space, hidden behind brambles and thorns, and beyond that a mysterious pool inside another part of the cave, the only light visible from a crumbed hole in the cave roof.

Not being able to resist the alluring beauty of the blue pool, Ruby didn't hesitate to jump in for a swim. It was when she did that the moon passed overhead and the magic filled the water.

Next day, when Ruby returned home to her parent's bar, she went to change a barrel in the cellar when one leaked on her and changed her into a mermaid for the first time.

Although initially shocked and confused, Ruby was quickly thrilled with this change! It was like destiny to her. All those years of swimming and staring longingly out at the ocean. She was overjoyed.

2 years later, she has managed to keep her secret from everyone. And after their little Spanish bar fell into bankruptcy, her family moved to the Gold Coast to start afresh...

Powers: The ability to transform into a mermaid, control water and turn it into blue crystals. (similar to Bella's ability to create glass)

Likes: Swimming, music, her powers, spending time in the Moon Pool,

Dislikes: Guys (cause most guys are jerks and she used to get bullied by guys), having to lie to her parents about her secret, working when she could be swimming.

Other: Ruby found a beautiful blue crystal at the bottom of her Moon Pool, which she wears on a chain around her neck always. Using her powers, she fashioned it into a heart pendant necklace.

She also has a charm bracelet with a blue crystal charm heart on it, that she fashioned with her powers from water from her Moon Pool, as a keepsake before she moved to Australia.
