Erin sat in a corner of the room the orphanage provided for them,they spent most of their time in here mainly because they didn't wanna get hurt by the other kids that lived in the building.They hurt them for being a girl but not dressing or acting like it,labeling them as a freak similar to how their old mother treated them,they started talking less and less till they officially were mute with very little way of communication since they did not know sign language and even when the teachers tried to show them,they for some reason couldn't get it with their ways of teaching.So there they sat,alone as they doodled in a little book,the lady who ran the orphanage,gave to them.They could hear other children playing from outside but they preferred to be in this room,even tho they didn't like the feeling of being alone.After about ten more minutes of doodling and pure silence,the door opened,they looked up and saw Ms.Eliza,the matron,she was a kind elderly women with the sweetest smile.Erin looked at her "Come along now Erin,there are two kind men who would like to meet you" They hesitated before standing up,Ms.Eliza took their hand and led them to her office where two grown men were sitting and waiting,both sharing a welcoming smile as they see Erin.One of them had tan skin,dark brown hair and eyes along with glasses while wearing a green jacket,a shirt with a green skull on it and some kaki shorts.The one sitting next to him was the slightest bit taller with light skin,spiked blond hair,a black tank top with an orange hat in the center,matching black jeans,and some strange pointy looking glasses.Even tho they seemed friendly enough,Erin was very shy and hid behind Ms.Eliza's skirt.Ms.Eliza had already told the two about Erin's past family,their gender issues,and about them being mute,so the two sort of expected this kind of thing "oh Erin it's alright,go on and say hi to Mr Dirk and Jake"Erin slowly stepped closer to them and shyly waved,the one wearing the skull shirt got up and smiled as he bent down to meet Erin's height,he offered a hand to them with a kind smile,something Erin wasn't very used to "hello there love,my name is Jake Strider,and that's my husband Dirk...We...if you are ok with it,would like to be your new parents,we have a home not too far away and we would like very much to take you with us as our child" Erin stared at him,feeling the slightest bit more comfortable.The other man,Dirk,soon kneels besides Jake and looked at Erin "We know you've had a rough life so far...Trust me we understand that...But,whatever happens,whatever,or whoever you choose to be we will support you as our kid...so..." he removed his pointy shades to reveal his orange eyes to Erin,who's staring at the two with amazement.Dirk smiled and offered his hand alongside Jakes "How would you like to be a Strider?" There was a long pause and a suffocating silence,all eyes on Erin as they looked at their feet before looking back up with a sweet smile.They ran in between the two men and hugged their chests with their small arms,the two of them smiled and hugged Erin between them happily.Ms.Eliza wiped her eyes of joyful tears before speaking "I guess we can accept that as a yes,I'll get the papers,Erin go get your things from your room then come back ok?" Erin looked over and nods as they quickly ran to the room and grabbed the few things they had before running back,where Jake and Dirk were waiting with all the papers signed.Jake smiled and held Erin's hand as they walk to the car.Erin felt so happy to know that there were people in their life who accepted them,loved them,and would take care of them,they would finally have the childhood that was tainted and stripped of innocence,given back to them.
