Backstory
During the Christmas party at the Pizzaplex animatronics' new home, Dani had brought an American cookbook with the depiction of a Black Southern mama on the cover holding a fluffy poodle, titled Miss Betsy's Baking for Beginners. Her intent was to bake a few homey treats for the new Ninjago residents. An endo was curious about her activity and approached her in the kitchen. She assumed that the newcomer wanted to help her and pointed to the cookbook to allow it to help with the recipes. The endo saw the woman with her dog on the cover and privately thought they were beautiful.

While they were baking, Orochi had decided to show off the jazz records he had saved when they were doing renovations. He'd set up the record player in the living room and smooth jazz could be heard all the way into the kitchen. The endo had showed interest in the music, displaying such interest as tapping its feet and bobbing its head slightly. Dani thought the interaction was adorable and danced with the endo for a few moments before they eventually had to get back to work.

The chain of events had sparked something in the endo. By the time people were chowing down, the endo had already formulated a plan and was secretly sketching it out.

When everyone was done and tired, the endo approached PIXAL with a notecard that read I NEED YOUR HELP. Attached to the notecard was a rough, blocky sketch of a shell design that the endo had been working on throughout the night. PIXAL took one look at it and announced, "Alright - let's do this."

The next morning, everyone stumbled into the kitchen to find a new animatronic baking breakfast. A poodle with shiny brown limbs, a poofy afro, and an even poofier tail. She introduced herself as Betsy Poodle, in honor of the cookbook that had inspired her, and declared that she was the new on-site baker. Everyone was welcoming and excited for this new persona - especially Chica. They were also excited because this meant a new beginning for the animatronics as a whole.

Trivia
- Dani's American cookbook inspired her in more ways than one. Not only is her name, occupation, and visage derived from its contents, but she also made sure to request that PIXAL give her a heavy Southern accent. Those around her are often given nicknames like "sugar", "honey", and "dahlin'".

- Her afro and tail hair are sturdy enough not to fall into her pastries, yet soft enough to be malleable. She uses this aspect to teach others how to make numerous types of braids and dreadlocks in her hair (don't worry, PIXAL gave her plenty of backup hair in case she meets those who pull more than they braid).

- She's the on-site baker, but that doesn't mean she's a total sugar-holic. She tries to incorporate healthy recipes into her pastries to emphasize that health can be both delicious and nutritious. Her one goal is to teach others the joy of baking, and she intends to do it the right way.

- Absolutely adores jazz. Her first day active, she immediately claimed full custody of Orochi's collection of jazz records and players, which he was happy to give up. She often claims that Duke Ellington is her soulmate. When others point out that Duke Ellington is dead, she flaps a hand at them and says, "Shush. Child. Let me dream."

- Total germaphobe. When PIXAL downloaded baking expertise into her system, she also took care to download the numerous diseases and medical problems associated with the practice. Betsy always makes a point to completely wipe down the kitchen before she starts baking.

- She's strong enough to lift a full bag of flour (those can get heavy).

- The kitchen is her domain, and she's not afraid to let everyone know it. When she starts baking, you better get out of her way unless you want to get hit with a rolling pin.

- She and Dani are best friends now. They often meet up to trade recipes.

- She has an internal timer so she always knows when something is ready to come out of the oven. Nothing ever burns on her watch!

- Sometimes racists will give her grief because of her appearance. They'll say things like, "If you had the freedom to choose any design, why did you choose Black?" To which she always replies, "Honey, I do not think I need a reason to look fabulous."

Personality: Betsy is your stereotypical Southern mama. As ready as she is to wash your mouth out with soap if you so much as utter a bad word, she's also ready to provide you with a warm plate of cookies on a bad day. She's caring and considerate of others, as she always makes a point to run her ingredients by her baking test subjects to see if they have any known allergies. And if you're feeling blue, she's more than happy to crank up the jazz, pull you to your feet, and help you dance your worries away!
