Backstory: Her name was Jade, named after her mother and Grandmother. Her Mother was killed in a protest for Faunus rights by the Atlas military, Stating that the protest was getting out of control. Her Father became abusive and depressed. Her Father committed suicide when was about 7 leaving her with no parents and to live on the streets until she got randomly selected to go to signal, going by the name Jasmine. by person she still doesn't know to this day.
