Roman Jesper Dumont

Name: Roman Jesper Dumont

Nicknames: Ro, Rome, RD, Dumont, Jester, The Fighting Frenchman

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Queer (has never publicly come out)

Looks:

He's 6'1

Personality: Roman is confident and a bit cocky when it comes to his racing prowess. Born with racing in his blood, he feels most confident when in a racing car, and most himself. Excruciatingly competitive, he is known for his aggression and temper on the track, though despite the fights that he can get into, he is well-loved by the other racers - even those he has his skirmishes with. Fun and full of adrenaline, Roman is still just a young man who's barely entered his 20s. A bit immature at times - and definitely more than a bit stubborn - he's still learning who he is off the track. Witty and sarcastic, F1 fans either find his humor hilarious or completely misunderstand he is joking - which has gotten him in trouble a few times over his racing career. Unapologetically himself, Roman is truly just doing his best to handle the pressure of a Formula 1 career - and growing up in his father's shadow. He definitely acts out sometimes and makes stupid decisions, but with the eyes of the world on him, its hard not to crack under that pressure sometimes - especially because he is trying to make a name for himself, rather than just being his father's son - though he is incredibly proud to be so. Really a sweetheart deep down, there is a roguish charm that makes Roman hard to truly dislike once you get to know him. Though hyper-competitive, if Roman makes a mistake on the track, he'll own up to it - even if he sometimes needs to gain a little perspective first. Though he does have a bit of a party-boy reputation, he is so much more than that - he is a world-class, self-discplined athlete heading into his prime.

Likes: Formula 1, racing, adrenaline rushes, winning, making his father proud, making his team proud, his family, his teammate, Bernard Jenson Winlow (his coach)

Dislikes: losing, making a mistake, being overshadowed by his father's legacy, his hardwork being discredited, the pressures and burdens he feels he must carry

Backstory: Roman comes from what the majority of F1 drivers come from - money. Not only does he come from money, he is a Formula 1 Legacy - he was born with racing in his blood, and grew up on the track. His father was famed, 5-time World Champion, Jacques Dumont. Roman got into his first kart at 2-years-old, and has been racing ever since. He started his Formula 2 career with Mercedes, then ended it with Red Bull - two of the more dominant teams across Formula 1 racing. Having raced in Formula 2 from 17 to 20, he is now starting his Formula 1 career with the French team Alpine, which he sees as a huge, huge honor. Having gotten into trouble here and there with the media, Roman is really just living his life as best as he can. Wanting to make the most of his rookie season and prove to everyone that he deserves to be there because of his talent, skill, hard-work and dedication, and not because of his father's name, Roman is doing everything he can. Though racing for Alpine, and hugely honored to be racing for the French team, his dream is to race for Ferrari and wear that red racing uniform, and drive that brilliant red car. He also wants to win at least one World Championship - but what driver doesn't? Asking Bernard to be his coach was a question led by two factors - Bernard had been his racing hero, besides his dad, for a long time AND his dad had been Bern's teammate for Bern's first two years of racing, and the two were and are still close.

Other: He is coached by Bernard Jenson Winlow, who was his F1 hero for a long time, and teammate with his father for two years, before his father retired
He is called The Fighting Frenchman because of his aggressive driving style - he is phenomenal at overtaking other drivers, he pushes to the limit _always_ and he never lets anyone get in his way
Roman has been involved in a couple crashing in his racing career, but nothing that caused permanent damage
He is French, through and through; he speaks English with a thick French accent, and knows other languages conversationally, thanks to growing up on the grid and track - Spanish and Italian are two he is most familiar with, conversationally
He is younger than his teammate by ten years - they have a real little brother/big brother relationship
He is the new talent everyon has their eyes on
He races under the number '51' which is the invert of his father's '15'
