Personality: Bernard is a very competitive guy, and depending on the environment in which the competition takes place, he could be a real jerk. But he needed to be competitive to have had the life he'd had. Big and intimidating, once he smiles or laughs it's clear how much of a softy he really is. It's how he got his nicknames surrounding 'Grizzly Bear.' Big and scary at first, he's cuddly and gentle in reality. Tough and disciplined for himself, he spoils the people he loves. Very protective and gentle, his love runs deep and true. Patient and caring, he is an amazing listener, and will offer advice or a shoulder to cry on. He is a rock - immovable and steady - and will take on the burdens of those he loves and carry them without complaint. Bern has a very soft spot for children and is far more gentle and patient with them than anyone. He can keep up with them, whether they are high energy or more relaxed. Loyal to a fault, he will always stand by and defend the people he loves and cares for. Someone who places a lot of merit into his bonds with other people, he hates being alone. Affectionate and open with the people he is close with, those who don't know him tend to get nervous around him, afraid of his stoney resting face. However, Bernard prefers when people are at ease around him, and does what he can to make sure that they feel safe.

Backstory: Bern is a former Formula 1 race car driver for Renault - a team that no longer exists and is now called Alpine - which is France's racing team. Bern grew up karting and racing from the time he was young, growing up in Scotland. When he was 18, having moved up through Formula 4-2, Bern was chosen to join Formula 1 as Red Bull's second driver. Bernard was a Formula 1 driver from the age of 18 to 36 - he had an 18 year career in Formula 1, which is highly impressive. Having raced for many different teams - Red Bull, Ferrari, Torro Rosso (now Alpha Tauri), and finally, Renault (now Alpine), he had a lucrative career. World Champion for two years in a row, when was was 30 and 31 years old - Bern got into a terrible accident during one of the races that ended his career one year early. He was lucky he made it out alive. His leg was near shattered, his wrist and ribs broke, and he had a terrible concussion. Now, three years later, he's healed up - as best as he can. His leg and wrist still act up every so often - his leg more than his wrist - yet he still works in Formula 1. He is extremely wealthy from his years racing, and is well-known in the public eye. People see him on the streets and know him - especially racing fans. Since his career ended, he has enjoyed some more quiet than before, traveling when he can. Still a big part of Formula 1, he works for the Alpine team as a coach.
