Detailed Personality] Lance has a nasty habit of not caring. He causes chaos in court, and sits back and watches people fight with a smile on his face. While he was not raised to be reliant on his status, in the last several years he has leaned into his status of heir apparent. He has simply enjoyed watching other people's problems unfold as it means no one is focusing on his problems. It has also given him the reputation of not to be crossed, which he has hoped will help him when he is crowned king.

Background] Lance is the oldest with two full siblings, three half siblings, and a step brother. From a young age he was attached to his mother's hip. She taught him to love and enjoy everything about life. She filled the palace with life and music. At age five, he gained another brother who followed Lance everywhere, and Lance enjoyed having a sibling, even if they were separated in age.

The Queen's pregnancy with her second son had been difficult to say the least, but it didn't stop the king and queen conceiving again. Though ultimately it was the king who pressed for more children as the larger the brood the stronger the family. And despite the doctors warnings, the queen went through with the pregnancy, and it ultimately costed her her life, passing just moments after the birth of her daughter.

Lance was angry for years over his mother's death. The one good thing in his life was gone, and was quickly replaced by his father's mistress. Not even a year later, his father was remarried, and Lance gained a half brother of the same age, just days younger. The king insisted his brother was only a step brother, but Lance had his doubts.

The next several years were filled with torment from his step brother, Mikel. Mikel would annoy Lance, trying to get a rise out of him so that Lance would act out and their father to grow angry with Lance. One time it worked, and Lance was given ten lashes for pushing Mikel down a small flight of stairs, breaking his arm.

At ages ten, twelve, and thirteen he gained new siblings. He had no interest in being close with any of them because of their mother, the false queen who had been trying to get Lance to acknowledge her as his mother.

As he grew older, and attended court more often, he could hear the whispers of pity the court gave him and knew he had to put an end to it. So he did the one thing he was best at, stirring up trouble. While Mikel tried to declare himself as the rightful heir, Lance shut him down, and while Mikel had his parents on his side, he could never gain the court approval. Lance had the whole court under his thumb, and he intended to keep it that way.

As fighting drew near to Macedonia, Mikel was shipped off along with Lance's younger brother to help fight on the front lines in Macedonia, and Lance finally gained some peace. And when the two returned, Mikel no longer felt the urge to torment his step brother, instead wanted to take his place even more.

History of Family] the Macedonian throne has been passed between families since the kingdom's birth. Very rarely do families reach past a hundred years on the throne because a lord gets power hungry and plans a coup. However, the Hollaron family has been sitting on the throne for nearly four hundred years. This is in part due to the blood thirsty nature of the Hollaron line. No one has been strong enough to take the throne out from under them as they have in the past, and with Lance's tendencies, it seemed like the throne will be safely in the Hollaron's hands for years to come.

Kingdom] Like many kingdoms, the land was conquered and claimed. Macedonia lays in the south in a perpetual heat. The summers are blistering and the winters bring a breeze, hardly dropping the temperature at all. They're not a desert with rolling hills of sand, but their western boarder is the desert which helps keep the land warm all year long. They trade gold and jewels, and luxury items, and the palace is made of only the finest of these items.

Thoughts on Invitation] Lance, to no one's surprise, is uninterested. His father is forcing him to rub elbows with the other royals to secure their spot in this new world the prince wants to create. Though Lance's argument is simply, "We can buy our position if we wanted to." Which is true, thanks to their kingdom's trade. Still, he is going.
