Appearance: Leilani is on the above average height, though she tends to stand on her toes to seem even taller, which usually adds about an inch to her 5'08 height. She has warm, tanned skin. Leilani has cut her hair short, and now it resides a curly mess that's about as short as most guys' hair. Her hair is black but, in some lighting, it can look really dark brown. Leilani's eyes are a pale color that range from gray to blue, but most commonly remain gray. She isn't the most scarred individual, but she's kind of reckless so she a ton of minor scars and bruises painted on her body nearly constantly. However, her hands are usually pretty calloused and cut from climbing on rocks and in trees.

Personality: Leilani has always been a wild child. She's the type of person who misses important meetings or meals because she found something more interesting outside, so she is often viewed as unpredictable and careless. Which isn't exactly true, she actually can keep to a schedule if she really tries, but it takes a lot out of her to push aside her curious nature and focus. This also usually led to her being viewed as not very intelligent, because she'd get distracted by things she thought were more important. In her mind, that rare bird matters more than doing her homework or assignments. Once again though, Leilani is actually quite smart. She has loads of information in her head and she learns quite quickly, but she never applies herself enough in the typical way (in school, on paper, etc) to show it. 

Leilani is also not social by nature. In fact, it's actually taken a lot of practice for her to reach her upbeat and extroverted ways. The main reason she finds it so difficult, is because she tends to find people... boring. Leilani's mind is always running so quickly that she rarely has time to slow it down and have some stupid small talk that nobody really cares about, which is usually what everyone tries to do. Her first instinct is to ask questions that may be viewed as too personal or weird, because she wants to know people's inner self, not the facade they put on. If someone acts fake, Leilani usually loses interest and finds something better to do. She can also spend hours by herself, just enjoying nature and exploring, but she secretly has the wish that there somebody who would join her.

The young woman also cares an extreme amount for those she manages to deem important. Whether that is being willing to protest to save a park she used to play in, give all her savings to protect a cool bird she saw, or put her entire being into helping someone who she loves. Leilani usually does not have a difficult time cutting people out of her life, but if you've managed to earn her trust, you've got it for life. She's the type of person to readily jump into a fight if needed, or scale a mountain because you were stuck on the top. 

Something most people find surprising, is that Leilani is actually quite the chill person. Yes, her mind bounces from thing to thing all the time, but that doesn't mean that she has to tell people every time it does. Leilani likes to live life in the present and it takes a lot to get her really, truly upset. Even when she's mad, she'll probably just shut down instead of yell. If she does yell at someone though, it's not a pretty sight and she's usually exhausted for hours after.

Backstory: Leilani was an only child, but unlike most only children, she wasn't smothered in attention by her parents. In fact, they hardly paid her any mind. They often traveled over seas and left her at home in Hawaii to fend for herself. In their defense though, they took her with them on business trips for the first seven years of her life. When she turned eight, she declared that she hated just sitting in hotels for days and demanded to stay in Hawaii when they went. They agreed and she hasn't gone with them since. This left her to herself a lot, which she actually didn't mind. It did make school even harder though, because she received little to no help from them as they were so hard to reach. Having no support system led to her lashing out a bit around her early teenage years, but eventually she adopted herself into her friends' families and thrived in the attention her friends' parents gave her.
