Backstory: Analla was born an only child on Altea to her altean mother and human father. When the Galra attacked, her parents were desperate to keep her safe, so they threw her kicking and screaming in protest into a pod and sent her to a planet they thought would be safe: Earth. The pod was programmed with information on Earth and her new identity, and once she had finished learning, she set the pod to self destruct so no one would find it. She took her father's former job at the Galaxy Garrison as a professor under the name Annika Spykerman, teaching foreign biology and botany, where students learn about what kind of plant life and microscopic organisms they might find on other planets. Her credentials are faked, but due to her background on Altea and knowledge given to her by her father, she knows what she's talking about. She is the youngest professor there, and is looked down upon by the other teachers, but her students mostly love her. She makes friends with Cadets mostly, as the other officers and teachers don't give her the time of day. The only exception is Shiro. No one knows her past, and she is happy to keep it that way. She is ashamed to be Altean, as she believes she is a traitor.
