Chapter 5: Blacking Out

"Pretty slow day huh." You commented on seeing the almost empty coffee place even though it was morning and this would be the time with a decent amount of people.

"Yeah," Celest let out a sigh. "Hey, can you help me get a sack of sugar from the back, were all out." You nodded your head and followed her to the storage room. Celest walked in first and turned on the lights only to gasp. You moved it aside to see what she was so shocked about.

"Crap the water pipe broke!" Celest struggled to get rags and towels or anything for that matter to dry up the materials that were getting wet. You thought quickly and rushed to the main water valve and shut it off.

You rushed back to see if it worked and you were glad to see the water pressure go down. Celest looked so defeated as she slid to the ground. "This was a month's worth of ingredients..." She combed a stressed hand through her red hair.

You looked around feeling terrible about how things turned out but you were distracted when you hear a ding from the front counter. "A customer..." You barely whispered. "D-Don't worry, we'll fix this!" You carefully walked over to the owner of the store and helped her up from the small puddle of water that had formed.

"You attend to the customers with what's already made and I'll run to the store and get enough materials for today and then we can think about getting someone to fix that pipe and the rest of the ingredients."

Celest wiped away the accumulated tears away and nodded. "Yeah, it's what we can do for now..." She patted her face a few times to get her energy back and readied herself. "Everything will be fine!" She said proudly. You grinned at her newfound enthusiasm and rushed out of the store to leave her with the oncoming customers.

You ran down the streets of Japan to a wholesale store nearby and started looking around for the similar products you would usually get. It was pretty quick, given the fact that you were constantly running around, and you got out your credit card to pay for the materials; you can sort out the spending issue later.

"Thank you so much, this is the address where you need to send it too." You handed over a small paper to the cashier and he nodded politely as he typed it down in the information log.

"Alright it'll be there in about 1-2 hours and-" Your conversation was interrupted by rumbling followed by a blast near the front entrance of the store.

"What the-" You coughed a few times and squinted to try and see through all the debris and dust that was caused by the explosion. You didn't even have time to think as you watched four shapes cut through the debris. They were wearing black hoodies and black sweatpants, they looked like typical robbers which made you pretty confused as to what the hell they were planning on doing.

"You search the back, you two get the left and right side." What seemed like the leader turned to look at the cashier in front of you. "I'll get the money." He said with a sickening grin. You were startled when you heard the alarm system startup.

"Get out of here, go!" You urged the cashier and he didn't even hesitate in leaving you behind from how frightened he was. You readied yourself for whatever was going to throw at you. After spending so much time with different kinds of heroes some of that had to rub off on you.

"Move aside little lady." The tall lean man warned. You were in a bit of a panic and no good songs really came to mind. "You don't know who you're dealing with." He raised his hand ready to strike but you went and blurt out any song.

"♪What do you want from me? Why don't you run from me? What are you wondering? What do you know?" The guy looked confused at first but you could see it in his eyes that he was slowly getting affected by your quirk. "♪Why aren't you scared of me? Why do you care for me? When we all fall asleep, where do we go?♪" He seemed stuck in a trance and you weren't really sure what kind of emotions he would get from the lyrics but at least that gave you some time to think of a better song.

"♪Melodies stuck inside your head. A song in every breath. Sing me to sleep now. Sing me to sleep. Won't you sing me to sleep now? Sing me to sleep.♪" You watched as she slowly was starting to doze off but you knew it wouldn't be for long. You took this chance to run out of the store.

I've gotta find a Hero!

You were already out the doors but you were pushed aside from the intensity of another blast two stores down. You landed on your arm and scraped it on the ground. You could hear a loud ringing in your ear as you tried to sit up but the way everything was spinning didn't help.

You blinked a few times before noticing the civilians running out from who knows where. You struggled to stand and leaned on a piece of the wholesale store wall. You took a glance back at the leader but he had rushed out looking around frantically until he locked eyes with you.

You felt your blood run cold at the sight and readied yourself for what was to come, but it never did.

"Are you alright-." Deku turned to look at who he was saving but froze for a moment before coming back down to earth. "Are you alright miss?" He asked sounding confident as ever.

"Huh?" It was only then that you realized that Deku was standing in front of you, standing tall in his green suit hero suit with a full-on mask as usual. "Uh, yeah, don't worry about me." You coughed from the dust. "Just go get those guys." You knew it was best to get out of his way and you started slowly walking out of the scene.

"Wait! I'll-!"

"Just do your job!" You shouted not wanting to interfere. You were shocked when you felt strong arms swiftly pick you up and off the ground. "What the? I told you to go!" You were trying to get out of his hold but he was already running at top speed down the road.

"I'm going to make sure you're gonna be alright." You let out a sigh.

"Why do you heroes have to be so..." You were looking for the right word.

"Heroic?" He gave out a low chuckle through his helmet that would slightly modify his voice.

"Stubborn." You corrected not being able to hold back on the small smile that was pulling on your lips. Deku thought you were pretty far from the scene so he slowed down and gently settled you down on the grass of a park.

"Don't worry, everything will be taken care of soon." He gave you a wink. "Plus Ultra!" He shouted as he ran back, making you stifle a laugh.

"Stupid heroes..." You said out loud as you started walking back to the café to make sure Celest was okay.

Meanwhile, Deku was back on the case in mere seconds. He got back and landed a hit on the leader instantly leaving him unconscious.

"Whos next?" He said as he crouched down to gather his energy. Let's just say, the bad guys didn't even stand a chance against the number one hero.

The police arrived and Deku helped to hand the villains over to them. "Thanks again Deku!" They thanked as they ducked the last person into the cop car.

"No problem!" He waved goodbye and was about to leave to continue his patrol but he was startled when a news lady was standing right behind him.

"Amazing just as usual!" She said gleefully as she then pointed her mic towards the hero. "Do you have anything to say to the viewers back at home?"

"Oh um..." Deku wasn't one to talk to the press too much but he also had to keep a good image. "They have nothing to worry about since they have me and other powerful heroes patrolling the streets!" He smiled somewhat awkwardly. "Well, I should get going. Goodbye everyone!" He showed a peace sign and was out in a flash.

"You heard it here folks! Deku is here to protect us all just as his mentor All Might once did! Back to you Mack!"

-

"Hey Celest, you okay?" You asked as you jogged over to her as you held your arm.

"Me?! Look at you! You're bleeding!" You could see the panic in her eyes but you were just glad that the blast wasn't strong enough to reach Celestial Cafe.

That's when you noticed that the place was basically empty except for a few people that were about to leave as well. "What happened here?" You asked.

"Well everyone started running out since they saw on the news how close the fight was, I think we're just gonna close for today." You nodded and felt your head start to spin again. "Sit down and I'll get you-"

"Hey!" You flinched when you suddenly heard someone shout. "What happened is she okay?" You recognized the voice to be Izuku so you lifted your gaze to him. He crouched down to get a good look at you and examined your arm.

"What are you doing here?" You asked weekly, feeling the blood slowly drain from your body.

"I was- I was watching the news! And I noticed you were in the middle of the whole incident and I wanted to make sure you...um if you were okay." He felt embarrassed when he realized what he said out loud and tried to hide his blush.

"Oh..." You blinked a few times before processing what was happening. "Thanks..." was all you could say before blacking out
