4.

Thomas was sitting on the windowsill and stroking my cheek.

"I have to go now darlin', don't forget we're still grounded," He winked at me, making my face flush.

"Yeah, it's funny we got grounded because our fault," I sniggered.

He shot me a beautiful smile that could make any girl swoon, and I must admit I almost did.

"James is waiting for me too. Well, see ya later darlin',"

"See you later Thomas," I smiled shyly.

And with that he climbed back out of the window sending me a final wink before climbing into his room.

I turned around and let myself fall down onto my bed with a content smile.

I thought about how Alexander made feel and... it hurt me. What I thought was love for him was clouded by... by my greatest enemy.

Yeah, the enemy I loved.

"Hey honey?" My mother called through the door.

"Yeah?" I answered as bored as I could possibly make myself.

"We're hosting a party tonight and you have to come," My mother said sweetly.

"What's in it for me?"

"You are not grounded anymore,"

I thought for a second before replying. "I'M IN!"

I rushed out of my room to find Eliza and Peggy already looking for me.

"Eliza! Pegs!"

"Oh hey Angie! We just thought we better choose a dress for tonight for you," Eliza squealed.

I rolled my eyes but smiled.

"Okay, I'll let you girls at it."

As soon as I had said those words, I felt myself being dragged back into my room and my closet door being open.

After a few 'Oooh, this looks great' and 'You'll look fabulous in this' they finally picked out a dress and put it on me.

"You look amazing sis! Now it's time for makeup!" Peggy chirped.

"Oh no..." I muttered.

"Just sit down love, facing the window, while I do your makeup and Peggy brushes your hair."

I obeyed, but before Eliza could get to apply anything on me, I caught a glimpse of Thomas looking at us and smirking, and coulnd't help my cheeks starting to heat up.

(Dress)

(Hair)

(Makeup)

When they finnished, they dragged me to my feet and put me in front of the mirror.

"What do you think sis?" Peggy asked from behind me.

"It's... amazing, thanks girls," I smiled.

"Now," I turned around. "Who's turn is it?"

We had finally finnished with dresses and makeup and shit, so basically this was Eliza's dress (↓)

(I love this)

Hair

(Just ignore the eyes for this one) And makeup,

And then Peggy (↓)

Yep, so that's the Schuyler's dresses.

Anyway

We were in the room beside where the party was at, trying to talk to each other briefly before actually entering the room.

"So, Angie?" My oldest younger sister asked me over the noise.

"Yeah Eliza?"

"We kinda invited some... unwanted people." Peggy stated.

I raised my eyebrow. "What do you mean 'unwanted'?"

"We mean Lafayette wanted them over," Eliza explained nervously.

"Oh," I just commented.

"So... please don't kill anybody tonight," Eliza begged.

God she's just a sweetheart.

"Fine, but if someone makes a move on you both, they won't return home alive," I growled.

Peggy giggled and opened the doors. Everyone stopped and turned to look at us, to which we smirked in response, and then got lost in the crowd, each one way.

I was asked a hundred times to dance, to which I declined all of them, until I finally found the drinks.

Nevertheless, before I could grab one, I felt someone grabbing my wrist and spinning me around; I was ready to slap a bitch when I noticed the chocolate brown eyes of the man and his fluffy chestnut hair tied up in a bun.

"Oh! Hey Laf,"

"Bonjour chérie," He smiled, then held my hand. "Dance? I need to talk to you about something,"

"Sure," I shrugged as he led me to the dance floor.

One of his hands landed on my waist as the other held my own.

"So?"

"Mmm? Oh! Oui, you 'ad a... 'ow you say? Crush on Alex non?"

I looked down as my expression darkened.

"Yeah, don't remind me."

Laf chuckled. "Désolé chérie. Anyway, have you thought about... someone else?"

I felt myself get tense, but the frenchman soon reassured me.

"Don't worry, it was just out of curiosity,"

"I-I don't know Laf."

"There is someone who loves you chérie, 'e just can't keep 'imself away,"

I bit my lip as worries clouded my mind.

"Who are you talking about?"

He turned his head towards the garden door where a tall man with a black shirt and a pair of magenta jeans was looking at the floor, his coffee brown eyes were gazing down, a pang of jealousy visible in them.

"Tho- I mean, Jefferson?!" I looked at him. "You must be insane!"

I knew the kiss hadn't meant anything to him.

Not to me though, that kiss had brought me back to my senses. That kiss had made me forget that stupid crush on my sister's boyfriend and it had made me look at my enemy with different eyes. That kiss made me realize how in love I am for him.

"No I'm not. 'e confided in both Madison and me, 'ell 'e even asked me for advice!"

I looked at him and caught him staring at us. As soon as we made eye contact, I looked back away at Laf.

"Give 'im a shot,"

"A-are you sure?"

"Oui, 'e always messes up with any girl he likes because 'e's a total nuisance in this love thing but... I thing you should give 'im a try,"

I took a deep breath and moved away from him.

"Okay. I'll... I'll give him a shot,"

"Bon, now Imma go talk with John," He smiled, blushing at his freckled boyfriend's name.

"Kay, see ya Laf!"

"Adieu!"

I moved through the crowd and grabbed two cups of beer and then slipped behind Thomas, who was now gazing through the glass doors.
