22 Pressure
The sunlight blared in Kaemon's vision and stops at a rest stop for the bathroom. As he gets out a object falls on the ground. He recognizes the shiny silver and blue agate in the middle. He gasps in shock picking the necklace off the pavement linking it on his neck. A chuckle of joy comes out of him as he walks to the bathroom. Once he' s back starting the engine up a lady reminded him of Alysa. He rambles to himself, " I am heart broken Alysa lied to me about her real intention. The way she treated me was so nice and polite. How could she do this to me?"
He decides before driving to put on music to distract his thoughts of the whole experience. The long hours fly by and the foothills are in view. The green summer town bright with colors and a feeling of home welcomes him. As he opens the door to his home he jumps on the loft bed moaning in joy. The necklace pressed on his chest reminding him to contact Yema and tell her he's coming back down south. He begins doing trips to the dump sifting through trash for boxes to pack his stuff up. Almost all his stuff is secured in the transportable tiny home. His truck is idle chained up to the trailer part. Before his ascendance he rubs with his fingers on the smooth agate stone sitting on the bed.
" Gosh I feel so good that I'm leaving this place and never will come back here again" he said in a relaxed tone.
Eventually he got the motivation since the time was around one pm it was time to go.
On the road driving Tirzah is listening to the directions to Alysa's place and arrives at the large home. She is surprised of the home size since Alysa never welcomed anybody to the home except Helen. She stops the truck gets out to help Laken carry the dosed bodies to the front door. He digs through Alysa's pocket to find her key chain. He unlocks the door to enter with Tirzah dragging Alysa first on the beige couch near the kitchen. After dropping her body Laken heaves Helen on one of beds in the rooms. Tirzah sees the stuff Alysa owns and notices the pebbles on her key chain dipped in blood. She knew of the pebbles since their first introduction. Once Alysa told her of dipping the pebbles in deer blood because her uncle hunted a deer and wanted to remember that moment. Laken wraps his arms around her with a sigh of relief. He follows her to one of the rooms for curiosity. Pictures on the walls of a few guys and girls with Alysa. On the bottom of the framed pictures are gold plaques of names, race and gender. One photo showing Kaemon, but without a plaque below the picture.
" I guess she ruined a few individuals lives just because of their race." Tirzah said.
"Yep, you wouldn't even know she's like that until you get to really know her." he replied.
Tirzah and Laken scan the room to know Alysa even better. They know Alysa is dosed for a few more hours before she awakens. Laken eye catches the closet door cracked and opened it to reveal Alysa's stash of posters, signs and pictures of racist beliefs. Tirzah finds the silver ring bracelet in Alysa's jean pocket reminding her of the time Laken was with a gal similar to Alysa who played him like the flute. Tirzah telling Laken she's cheating on him separated the friendship between her and him. After the loss of Conner his affection is strong towards her making her feel safe.
" Lets get out of here" Laken suggests.
Tirzah agreed and both left the place driving to his place on the lake. She kisses him on the neck as they sit on the dock staring out at the mini lake watching the sunset.
" You know I really need to visit Kaemon's place tomorrow to tell him about the night. I think it's important because all this time that's probably all he wanted to know." Laken softly said.
" That's a good idea babe" she replied.
She stands and takes a walk before the light disappears completely decompressing the whole day.
" I miss you" a voice echoed in her ear.
A partially invisible shows itself to her. The face becomes clearer and Conner's identity is seen.
" Oh my gosh, your dead, but wanted to visit me" she surprisingly said.
"I know you loved me dearly and I did my job" he softly spoke.
She sheds a tear from her eyes becoming red.
" I...I thank you for warning me" she crys.
" I will always be in your heart. Do me a favor by loving Laken as much as you loved me" he whispered.
A bright light eminated from his spirit form and disappeared into thin air. A cry comes from Tirzah wiping her red eyes. She turned back to Laken's home in both joy and sadness. Laken caresses her in his bed in a calming tone.
In the morning Laken gets out of bed to see the beautiful water from the window. Tirzah was asleep on the bed like an angel. He gets back in bed trailing his fingers through her medium cut hair. She turns over and he sees a sleepy peaceful face with her eyes closed. In the home a warm temperature heats the room without any hint of chill. He kisses her on the forehead and gets dressed to drive up to Kaemon's place to explain everything that he pleaded to know all this time. As he arrives to the secluded location no home or truck is seen. He re types the address and lands on this property. Truck marks on the mud are the only indication of anyone here. He says to himself, " Well I guess he left unfortunately. He'll never know what happened to him that night." The truck is turned around and Alysa's car is behind his. A sudden alertness becomes heightened to Laken and stays in the car facing hers. She shakes her head hitting the driver wheel. Laken smirks from the driver seat at her. She rolls her window down yelling, " you piece of shit scared Kaemon off! I have malice towards you and complete hate period!"
He rolls his eyes chuckling at angry Alysa yelling at him from her own car. He trys leaving, but she is chasing him by car and he barely scraps by her mirror making a tongue face at her. He speeds so she can't keep up with him. At one of the stop light he looks behind to see no cars and sighs in relief. He finds Tirzah on the dock once he arrives home. A car arrives behind him and stops beside his. A familiar face appears which Laken recognizes as Drake. He jogs over giving him a dude hug.
" How are you man? I've been wondering about you and your recovery." Laken asked.
" Dude the recovery was horrible, but I am alive and now well" He replied.
" Good, good. Have a seat with Tirzah and me on the dock." Laken suggested.
Drake walked over with Laken on the dock saying a hello to Tirzah.
" Where's Angelo and Quinn?" she asked.
" Oh their at home from what I heard and since from this long trip all of us need a break from each other anyway." Drake responded.
Drake lifts his shirt to reveal the long scar similar to Laken', but on the other side of the body.
" I need to go so I can get more rest so see you later guys" Drake said while walking towards his car.
Laken waves to Drake and sits with Tirzah holding her tightly under his arm. Trails of fingers come down on her arm almost to the point of being ticklish. She laughs and pushes Laken off the edge into the cold water. He gasps in shock dragging her in with him. She screams in joy splashing into the water.
" Buzz, buzz, buzz"
" Oh my phone!" she exclaims grabbing her phone with her wet hands answering.
" Hello this is Tirzah?"
" You need to come here now!"
" Quinn? What's going on?"
" I'm bleeding to death!" She crys
" I will be there hold on" Tirzah said.
Tirzah gets out with Laken following her to the house drying off hopping into the truck. She drives to Quinn's place and sees blood drops trailing to the back into the home. Tirzah slowly opens the door to see Quinn lying on the floor bleeding tremendously. Tirzah carries her out to the truck and Laken stays to watch the place while the girls rush to the hospital. He investigates the cabin and looks for any sign and notices a note printed in a thumb blood mark. The note says "I told you silly I would harm poor Quinn. Oh that's right you took my Kaemon away. I wanna fight with you tonight at the stone house. Six pm or another person will be in pain. Love Alysa"
Laken crumbles the note and throws the ball to the wall. He yells, " If you want to fight I'll give you one!"
He leaves the place calling Tirzah to check in and she's on her way to pick him up pronto. She asks " What's up? Quinn didn't tell me so maybe you saw something?"
He glances at her from the passenger seat breathing in deeply saying " Alysa left a threat note and wants to meet at the stone house at six tonight."
Tirzah gasps and crys out," You cannot go tonight because she'll use her gun to kill you. I don't want to lose you like Conner. Please!"
Laken doesn't respond and orders to drop him off at his place. She opens her mouth before he leaves and decides to be quiet and use his other car to get herself home.
At around six Laken arrives seeing Alysa and Helen smoking outside on the porch of the stone place. He gets out confidently striding towards them who smirked and roll their eyes.
" So what are you waiting for bitch? Fight me!" He screams out to her. She whips out her pistol pointing it at him smiling.
" I want to kill you, but I want to know if you told Kaemon about that night?" she asked.
He shrugged.
" Easy there Alysa I doubt you want to be a suspect in a killing or do you?" he calmly said.
" You did not answer my fucking question. Did you tell Kaemon?" She threatened.
" No I did not" he replied.
Alysa shoots in another direction.
" I don't care so see you later dummy" she said triggering the gun slowly but a rock out of the blue hits her head missing Laken falling to the ground. He quickly gets hold of the gun before Helen and aims to Helen ordering her to kneel down head pointing to the ground. Tirzah appeared from the shadows holding another rock in her hand.
" I didn't want you to get hurt babe" he said.
" I know but I saved your life right?" she smirked.
" That's true. I need to tell the cops on her right now, so can you call them?" he asked.
Tirzah used her phone to have the police arrive listening to Laken about Quinn and everything that happened. Tirzah drives home to her place lying on her bed smelling the scent of rose from the sheets. She binged watching TV while listening to Laken rant about anything. An unknown message pops up on Tirzah's phone from someone who she didn't expect to hear from.
