#30
I took a long deep breath as I waited at the back of the closed huge double door of the church. I hold tighter at the bouquet of flowers Morgan has given to me and that's when it dawned upon me that I was really getting married today. I can practically hear the song inside this small church playing. It was a wonderful melody that fits the very occasion today of my life. I looked up at the sky and smiled.
Mom? are you seeing this? I'm getting married now. I hope you come down from above there and accompany me as we walk down the isle. It would be great to see you hand me to the man that I will be spending my life with.
The air begun to blow harder and just when the door opened, a bright light greeted me and I immediately walk in earning an applause from our limited guest. The wedding only consist of all the Miers household and no one else. Their presence are enough to witness this day of our lives and be part of our ceremony of being one. As I walked down the road, I can already feel my eyes water as I took at the image in front of me. There stood in the altar is the man I'm gonna be wed with and he looked more handsome than ever.
Throughout my relationship with this man, I've realize that once you've fallen in love, you get to see the great things in the person that you love. Even if its bad or the good and that person blooms until you see how beautiful he or she in and out. You get to love his good side and more endulge with his dark side since its a new mystery for you that you have to unravel. Love can bring out anything in a person, and you have to be ready to accept it.
And finally, I've reached the altar. Alexander reach out his hand for me to hold and I quickly took it, smiling in happiness. I walked up the small stairs and we stood in front of the altar with a waiting priest to wed us. The priest smiled at us and we also replied it with complete joy on our face. Sooner, we face each other and my breath hitch as I looked at my partner. His face, the way his lips curl up, his eyes that seemed to sparkle in joy.
He was glad.
And…
So am I.
The priest started the ceremony and I can't seem to listen to the priest since the both of us were indulge with our staring contest. When suddenly we were brought back to the world when the priest started calling Alexander's name.
"Oh, sorry father." He apologize which made me and the crowd chuckle.
"Now it's time for the exchanging of the vows." The priest declared. Alexander smiled and held my hand tightly like someone's gonna snatch me from him. But it was not tight that would make me wince in pain.
Wait? Exchanging of what? bows?
What in the world is that? Is that gesture really is included in a wedding ceremony? I thought to myself.
I think its the gesture that you have to bow(vow) to your partner? God, I don't know how a certain wedding do process and Mark didn't even inform me about the bow (vow). Maybe you just have to bow.
I lowered my head and took a bow in front of him. Okay, that was cool right?
"What're you doing?" I heared Alexander whisper. I looked up at him questioningly.
"I'm giving you my bow(vow)." I replied. Alexander suppressed a laughter and quickly lift my head back to look at him.
He just tend to look at me with a complete amusement and then he breath out some air and looked at me straight to my eyes while smiling.
"Lay…"
"Day by day;
I know that I had loved you more;
I know your complexities
are beyond mine;
I learn from your wisdom everyday;
Your mind stirs my soul to new heights;
Your faith in me gaves me strength;
Your touch delights me;
And without your love I am incomplete;
Between us we find the echo of our love;
That has filled the universe since the
dawn of creation;
Through us, it has spread
peace and harmony;
To our friends, families and beyond;
So this day,
He slip the ring to my left ring finger as I started to cry in happiness from his words. I looked back at him and I can see that his eyes were also glassy now.
I bind myself to you with
these wedding vows;
Willingly and wholeheartedly;
Free from doubt and
mental reservations;
In riches and in poverty;
In jubilation and in despair;
In sickness and in health;
Despite our flaws;
I will share my life with you;
All that's mine is yours;
With love I will tell you the truth,
as I understand it;
I will honor and respect you;
I will rejoice in your joys and
weep in your sorrows;
I will love and cherish you;
Without cease and pause;
All days in our lives;
Until death parts us;
I love you Lay.
Forever
And
Till eternity. "
The crowd erupt in applause and I can hear some started to sniffle especially Magnolia who is being held tightly by Mark. Now its my turn. I looked at him and smiled as I held his hand.
"Honestly… I haven't prepared anything to say for the vows, so I'll say what my heart wants to speak." I whispered to Alexander which had the priest smiling.
"Alexander. I love you."
"Honestly, the first time we met, I really don't like you because of your cocky attitude.
But sooner, I found out that it was just your way to get my attention. But because of that, I've learn to love you.
We may had face many complicated things in our relationship but we remained true to each other." I took a deep breath and looked at him intently.
"Until today, the day that I told you I loved you,
The day that I knew I was going to marry you,
That was the best day of my life.
You made me the happiest man on earth, which may had thousands of women jealous for I had own a heart like you.
We may be imperfect on certain things but with love we are perfect together.
I, Lay Wesley Bifrost, be with Alexander for the rest of eternity.
To cherish and love him
To guide and understand him
To bring him back to earth when he thinks too much of me.
To pamper him and shower him with all my love.
I promise to stay loyal and be forever his and him forever be mine.
Till death part us, I love you."
I also slip the ring in his left ring finger which made him smile to the heavens.
"Now, I pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss each other." The priest declared. Without hesitation, we did so which made the crowd erupt in joy. Sound of hands clasping each other resonated the church and cheers vibrated the walls of the church. As we walked out of the church, the huge bell rang continuously as everyone celebrated out.
I felt a presence in my side and when I looked around, there was nothing. Just the strong breeze that swept the certain place while the trees leaves started to flutter and rustle.
I smiled.
"Thank you…"
"Mom…"
