Chapter Twevle.

Chapter Twelve

 Scott.

It’s been a week. A long week, and even though I can see her jealousy, Abigail has made no attempt to do anything about it. Usually a mate’s jealousy would increase and she would do anything to keep another female's hands off her wolf. It’s kind of strange. I mean, I just wish she would! It’s becoming harder and harder to come up with excuses to keep Mina from trying to kiss me. I tried to keep my face straight each time she tugged on my arm while laughing to what her friends said. We were at lunch and I was just plain out annoyed by Mina now.

Why’d I ever think I could handle this chick? I thought, it would only take Abigail a day for her to realize she needs me as much as I need her. I turned my head a little and in the corner of my eye, I looked at the back of the room where Abigail was picking at a green apple, her attention on it most of the time. I huffed out my nose, Why is she so stubborn! Okay, so I thought her brother was her son. An honest mistake. I didn’t mean to make her mad at me.

Right when I turned my head back around, I felt Mina lips on my cheek and the sound of lips smacking. “Do you want to, Scott?” she asked. Ugh, I wanted to cover my nose from the amount of perfume she uses. It’s like I need a gas mask for how much she uses. It’s like when my mother sprays her perfume next to me and some gets in my nose and mouth. I turned my head to her.

“Huh? Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention."

She chuckled.

“Oh you’re so funny. I was just saying why don’t we all go to the mall after school. It’s Friday and I heard Aero is having a sale. I need some new tanks anyway."

“Uh, sure.” I forced the words out but I just wanted to yell, No! I won’t go shopping with you! Do you know how lame it is for a guy to go shopping with a girl that isn’t even his girlfriend! But that’d be a little harsh.

She shrugged, dragging my arm up and down with her. "Goodie.”

Ten minutes later the bell rang and I had to go back to my locker to put my stuff in it because I had gym next. I closed my locker and looked down the hall to see if Abigail was at her locker, but she wasn’t. I looked down at my black V-neck shirt and pursed my lips as I turned around and made my way down the hall to go the gymnasium. I turned into the next hall, but someone ran into me. My arms flew out and I smelled the scent of strawberries before I looked down and my arms quickly went around Abigail.

It seemed like she was starting to look up, but she stopped at my chest that was showing from the V-neck and stared. An amused look appeared on my face when she bit down on her lower lip and tugged at her red t-shirt. She finally looked up and her cheeks burned a crimson red as her teeth let go of her bottom lip. Her green eyes looked into mine and I was so tempted to kiss her right now. She finally realized what was happening and took a step back and quickly walked away.

I turned around back into the sophomore hall and watched her walk towards her locker, shaking her head around a few times. Once she got to her locker, I turned back around into the other hall with a grin on my face as I walked towards the locker rooms. I’m starting to have that good feeling about what happened. When I got into the locker room, I changed into my gym cloths.

Skyler came up to me as he threw on his shirt. “Hey man, someone sure has been distant.”

“Hope you’re talking about Shay,” I said sarcastically about my heart broken brother who has been moping around like a little pansy around the house. I, for one, am not heart broken.” I finished dressing as he continued.

He snorted and punched me in the arm, which hurt since Skyler was the oldest and the strongest. “Don’t be a smartass, Scott. All you did this week was be with Mina twenty-four-seven. What is she? Your girlfriend now?”

I snorted and threw my basketball shorts on. “Of course not, I’m just using her to make Abigail jealous.”

“And how’s that working out for ya?” he asked, arching an eyebrow.

I clicked my tongue. “It’s getting there. Look, Sky, I’ll do me and you and your pregnant girlfriend,” I snapped a little annoyed.

He put his hand on my chest and threw me back against the lockers. “Watch it, man. Just because I have my mate doesn’t mean you have to take your jealousy out on me,” Skyler said, his eyes darkening.

I hesitated, not even sure if I meant it, “Sorry.”

“Good,” he said, letting go of me.

“Now come on, you got me all worked up now,” he said, walking out of the locker room.

I snatched the basketball out of Reese’s hand and bounced the ball over towards my net and shot it in, giving my team a point. We were winning. A person from Reese’s team grabbed the ball and bounced it back over to his side. Skyler and I were on the same team and we were the ones mostly grabbing the ball and dunking it. We are the star athletes anyways and tonight we have a football game with Malcolm High. Maybe Colleen can talk Abigail into going. We switched teams since it was guys verses guys and girls verses girls.

Reese pushed me and I chuckled at him, “You suck at basketball.”

“Hey, I play baseball, not dribble a ball,” he defending himself before going over to his side. I sat next to Skyler who looked uncomfortable as he watched Haley run to chase after a girl name Melody for the ball.

“This is all too dangerous for her to do,” he said.

“I mean, the ball could easily slam into her stomach and—”

“Dude, your being paranoid,” I told him. “She’s going to be fine.”

He snapped his head to me. “You don’t understand yet. If something as stupid as playing basketball hurts my child, I’m going to be pissed.”

As funny as that sounded I told him with a straight face, “It’s her child, too, and I doubt Haley will let anything happen to ya’ll’s pup. But hey, by the end of next month she won’t be able to do gym class. How’d her mom take it last night when ya’ll told her?” I asked.

“She flipped like a light switch,” he breathed out tiredly. “But after she got out about how we should have been careful and all the other crap, she cooled down so we could finish talking to her. She doesn’t like the idea of becoming a grandmother so young at thirty-eight, but she said she’ll be there for us.”

I opened my mouth to say something, but Mina’s voice yelled across most of the gym. “Stay out of my way!’ she yelled and I heard her scoff. My head turned to see it was Abigail she yelled at and all the girls stopped playing.

Abigail gave Mina her annoyed look and Haley snapped, “She wasn’t in your way, Mina! Maybe if you weren’t busy gawking at Scott you would have caught it and not Abigail.”

“It’s going to be her fault if we lose!” Mina argued. “She won’t be able to let any of us know if she’s going to pass, she should just pretend like she’s playing along.”

“Oh shut up, Mina,” Haley said.

The girl’s coach blew her whistle. “Hey, all three of you cut it out!”

“Abigail shouldn’t even be playing! She shouldn’t even be in this school because she’s broken,” Mina yelled and she pushed my buttons too far.

That's it!!! I got up and started to walk towards her, but I paused when I saw Abigail walk over to her and punch her across the face. I jerked and my eyes flew opened. Mina scoffed with a look of pure surprise. The look didn't last long and was replaced with a look of pure hate. They stared at each other for about one second, and then they both attacked each other by pulling at each other's hair.

Girl-fight.

Abigail tackled Mina onto the floor and they continued fighting as everyone gathered around them. I ran towards the crowd and pushed my way through all of them. Abigail punched across Mina’s face again and again. After about 5 hits Mina didn't really try to block. But Abby just kept hitting her.

I was surprised at how much of a fight she was putting up. She kind of reminded me of an angry cat. She had this angry killer look on her face and it couldn’t have just been because of Mina's comment. She was pissed about something else too. Mina probably just pushed her over the edge. And as much as I enjoyed Mina getting what she deserved I knew it wasn't right to do it that excessively.

And let me tell you. It was hard to walk that short distance and wrap one arm around Abby's waist and pry her off of Mina. Mina turned on her side and held her nose that looked broken. I couldn’t hear since there were so many people around chanting and the coaches were yelling.

Abigail started squirming in my arms for me to let go of her. But all I did was put her down on her feet and I wrapped my arms around her upper arms. I was pulling her out of the gym and she started pulling and scratching at my arm for me to let go of her. I stopped when we were near the entrance of the door and threw her over my shoulder, she squealed in surprise and I continued on my way.

Abigail.

I had to put my hands over my mouth just to keep myself from yelling at Scott as he walked out of the school building like a crazy person! I was freaking out in my head at how much I hated him and Mina! She pushed me too far and she spent this whole week bragging to her friend loudly enough for me to hear! Well, I just beat the evil witch’s ass! Ugh, she’s pisses me off so bad!

I took out all the anger I ever had on that bitch! Towards my dad, mom, her, and Scott. I broke her nose and gave her a busted lip. I didn’t even think about my attention and just thought to the hell of it, if I go down, at least I’ll have something to satisfy me!

And it’s not like it’s the first fight I got in with a girl before. I had a few in over the years. Maybe this last one will make my dad take me out of school like he said. He said if I got into another fight, he’d take me out of school. Why do I have to go to school anyways? I’m not going to be anything important. I can take care of Tyler fully now.

Once I could hold my tongue, I took my hands away from my mouth and started hitting at Scott’s back. He went into the parking lot and went behind his brother's jeep. He slid me down and I continued hitting at his chest.

He grabbed my fist. “Abigail, stop it!” he yelled but I didn’t. I kept trying to hit his chest, but he tightened his hold around my wrist. My eyes widened and I gasped as I stopped. He loosen his hold quickly. “Thank you.” I glared at him and scrunched my nose up.

“Are you mad at me?” he asked and before I could stop myself, I harshly nodded.

“Do you hate me?” I couldn’t look at him when I nodded.

“Were you jealous cause I was with Mina?” he asked and I nodded, but when I realized what he asked, I stopped and glared at him, shaking my head quickly.

He chuckled, "Yes you were. You were beating the crap out of her back there. I’ll say, I’m impressed. Who knew you were such a fighter.” I just breathed out my nose heavily and looked away. I just want to go home now. I can’t really go back in there. I don’t want to deal with all that crap right now. I’ll deal with it Monday. I’m not afraid of getting detention or getting suspended. I have many more problems at home than this stupid small town’s school.

“I missed you,” Scott said and I looked at him like he was crazy. Missed me? He only hung out with me last week and ignored me this week. He’s so confusing. How could he say that anyways? He’s a jerk. He then grinned, “You were jealous of Mina, weren’t you?” Now he was just tempting me. I began hitting at his chest and he didn’t at all try to stop me. A minute later after I took all my anger I had left out of him, I scoffed and stepped back.

“You finished?” he asked and I hesitated, but nodded.

“Good,” he said, putting his hands on my face and slamming his lips down on mine. My eyes widened, but I quickly gave into the feeling of his warm lips and pressed my body closer to his warm one. He wrapped his arms around me and kept me warm. He moved his lips and placed his forehead on mine. “I’m yours, Abigail. Don’t worry,” he said putting his hand under my chin and tilting my head back, pressing his lips softly on mine.

Suddenly the doors to the school open and I heard our principle and both gym teachers auguring about Scott and I. Scott pulled back and tried to keep quiet, but we couldn’t help but quietly chuckle to ourselves.

Scott.

After Skyler threw the winning throw, we all gather around him and the two strongest members lifted him up and the rest of us took off our helmets and raised them in the air as we cheered with the crowd. A few more moments passed after cheering and going into a line as the other team did and we all said ‘good game’ to each other, though the other team look pissed about losing.

This was our last game and we won. Skyler surly got his scholar ship now to any school he wanted. Skyler went over by the cheerleaders since Haley was over there even though she wasn’t on the squad anyway and he picked her up and she wrapped her legs around him, kissing him.

I looked over at Tristan who was over at the bleacher hugging Colleen and he pulled her from behind the rail and she kissed him. I stood with the other and looked down at my helmet, wishing Abigail was here to celebrate with me. Even if Mina was here, it wouldn’t be with her. I’m done with her. She was at the hospital though cause of her nose. She better know now to never mess with Abigail again.

An hour later after changing, I skipped the after party of the last game to go over to Abigail’s house. I went in the back to the tree and started climbing. Realizing her parents were strict and didn’t allow her to date, I didn’t mind keeping whatever we have a secret. It kind of reminded me Romeo and Juliet… just a little different. I wanted to tell her all about tonight.

I went to knock on the window, but I heard voices on the other side. I raised an eyebrow doing the best I could see in the small space between the curtains she had, I saw her on her bed and heard her singing with Tyler that nursery rhyme Patty Cake. And I almost fell out of the tree.
