HERE ISH A SHORT STORY I WROTE FOR ROGUE CREATION AMINO-
The rain poured down on Adderstar's pelt as he ran, exhausted from the hours of battle. A weight suddenly landed on his shoulders, making him fall face-first. He shook the mud from his face and turned his head to see Ravenstar above him, claws raised.
"Ravenstar, please don't do this..." Adderstar pleaded, looking at her claws worriedly. "You don't tell me what to do." Ravenstar hissed, tightening her grip on him. The tabby leader winced, hoping that he could get out of this somehow.
"Ravenstar!" A tom's voice called out from the distance. It was Sootshade. Ravenstar's grip loosened and she turned toward the sound of his voice. Taking her distraction as an advantage, he attempted to roll out from beneath her. It worked, but that triggered Ravenstar to snap out of her trance and tackle him again. They fought for a while, the rain seeming to come down harder. Miraculously, Adderstar eventually got away from her, now having some deep scratches.
He breathed heavily, shaking the rain from his fur and turning to look at Ravenstar. She was crouched on the ground, also breathing heavily. Her claws had blood on them, and there was a venomous look in her eyes. His mind was a tumbling mess of what to do. Should he attack? Get help? Flee? In his heart, he wanted to run away and go back to camp, where he'd be safe and surrounded by his Clanmates.
But there was another part of him that knew that this was Ravenstar's last life. That wanted to put an end to the pain Ravenstar had caused.
He wanted to go back to his Clan, but he couldn't control himself. Before he had any idea what was going on, he had leaped onto Ravenstar and was now holding her by the neck. His claws digged into her throat as the she-cat gasped for breath. Ravenstar tried to retaliate, but that just made him grip onto her harder.
Why am I doing this?! I don't want to kill her! Adderstar thought frantically. His heart wanted to go one way, but his claws had something else in mind. Time seemed to slow down as he finally looked down at Ravenstar. Her eyes were closed and her neck was bloody.
He could feel no breath coming from her.
Adderstar stumbled away from Ravenstar's body, in a trance of remorse. Cats crowded around him, and he could hear them congratulating him. Why? He just killed a cat, for StarClan's sake! His eyes focused on Sootshade, who was crouched by Ravenstar's body. His muzzle was pressed into her fur. Suddenly, his head lifted and he turned to give Adderstar a death stare.
I just killed his mate... of course he's mad at me. Adderstar thought, his mind a haze. Eventually, he just ran toward his camp, not wanting to be there anymore. He was surprised he made it there without hitting anything. As Adderstar arrived, he sat in the middle of the camp, alone.
Guilt clouded his mind as he looked up at Silverpelt.
Oh, StarClan...What have I done?
