The train started to come near to the Delhi Junction, all the passengers who got on the train from Jammu and other cold regions started taking off their woollen clothing. I too took off my sweater, folded it and kept it inside my handbag which was almost empty, on seeing this, Abhishek too gave me his jacket to keep it in my bag, I kept it without arguing as my hair became messy, which bothered me a lot, I slid the hairband out of hair and oh, it broke. It happens every single time. I became furious and threw that out of the window and started searching for another one.
"Excuse me, do you have a hairband?" I asked a woman sitting parallel to her.
"No, child, I don't have one." She replied.
"Vineet, I know what will be your answer, but still I'm asking, do you have a hairband or a rubber band will also be ok?" I turned to Vineet, he didn't reply, I don't know what he was up to.
"Vineet, Vineet, VINEET..." Abhishek screamed.
"Yes, what?" Vineet asked.
"Where were you?" Abhishek chuckled, "your friend was asking do you have a rubber band?"
"Um, I don't think so. But lemme check." He said and searched in his bag, "Um, I don't have a rubber band but you can use this." He said giving her a pencil.
"A pencil?" I chuckled.
"Yeah, girls do that," Vineet spoke. "My sister makes a bun and puts a pencil to hold it tight." He said giving her the pencil.
"I don't know how to use that," I said taking it.
"Okay, I'll tell you step-by-step." Vineet said and I nodded clueless of what he was actually saying, "First of all, make a bun." He said and I held my hair, twisted them and rolled the up in a bun.
"Now?" I asked.
"Now, you put this pencil in the bun," Vineet said and I followed.
"This got opened again, see," I said.
"You didn't put that in a right way," Vineet said. "Put it like this." He said doing the action.
"I can't do that," I said.
"If you don't mind can I ask you to do that, Vineet?" Abhishek smirked. 'Why this person has to pop up and down in between.'
"Oh, yeah sure, I'll." He said and came near to me. "Turn back." He ordered. Then Vineet twisted up her hair rolled them into a bun, and put the pencil into her bun and yeah, it didn't open up. "Huh, you're done." He sighed and I heard the train honking and felt my hair on my shoulder.
Yes, I was daydreaming, the part in which Abhishek asked Vineet to make a bun was all a dream.
"Uff, I'll keep them loose," I said furiously.
"By the way, you look good in loose hair," Vineet said. 'Doesn't every girl look good in them?'
"Thank you," I said.
"Well, how do you know all these girly stuff, Vinu?" Abhishek asked him.
"My younger sister keeps on telling me how to do all the girly stuff now and then." He said. "So, I know those things very well."
"How cute," I said with a grin.
"His sister is cuter than this," Abhishek said and coughed.
"Haan, what did you say, Abhishek?" Vineet eyed him
"How old she is?" I asked covering up my stupid friend's stupid habit.
"Nivishthi is a Lawyer in, the Supreme Court as you," Vineet told.
"Bye, Shaheera and Abhishek" Vineet said with a really small face.
"Don't say bye, say see you," I said lifting my luggage.
"How come you're so sure that we'll meet again?" Vineet asked.
"See when you say 'bye' all the hopes and wishes of meeting again vanishes, but when you say 'see you' you are likely to meet the person back again," I explained.
"Ok, see you," Vineet said with a huge grin.
"See you," I said and smiled.
"Let's go, Vinu, or else she'll start her shayari here," Abhishek joked. I swear, this guy is so annoying.
We all went near the gate and waited for the train to stop.
"Lemme go down first, I'll carry your bag too," Vineet said.
"No, no, no, I can't let you do that." I refused politely, "Already you're having your own luggage. How much more you'll carry? And, I have got Abhishek my coolie," I added.
"Yes, yes," he said, "anything for you, beautiful," he cringed.
"No, I'll hold my bag myself," I surrendered.
"Hold mine too then," Abhishek chuckled.
"Go to hell, you," I said furiously.
"As you say." Abhishek said, "don't worry, I'll carry my luggage on my own."
The train stopped, and, we got off the train. Vineet took my suitcase and gave me his handbag.
"Is this ok?" He asked.
"Um, what do I say? You are just..." I said, 'who on Earth does that? I guess, Delhi boys.'
"Stubborn, I know," he said, "Okay, let's go." and started to walk.
"What's the taxi fare in Delhi?" I enquired with him.
"Depends." He said and moved towards the gate.
"Vinuu..." A girl waved at Vineet and ran towards him and hugged him tightly. "How're you? I missed you so much..." She said.
"I missed you too Nivi. How's Mumma?" He said and hugged her back.
"Um, is she your friend?" Nivi asked sheepishly teasing him.
"Oh, yeah, Nivi, meet Shaheera." He introduced me to Nivi. "We accompanied each other from Jammu to Delhi," he said, "and, you know this guy better than I do," he said pointing towards Abhishek.
'Abhishek and Nivishthi? Seriously!!? I didn't know!!'
"Shaheera, this is my younger sister Nivishthi," He introduced Nivishthi to me, "Who I told you about."
"Hello, Vinu has already told you about me?" She asked.
"Yeah, my hairband broke and he told me how you use a pencil to fix a bun." I said, "it didn't work though," I chuckled.
"Oh!!" Nivishthi exclaimed and gave a teasing look to Vineet.
"Nivi, Shaheera is a Lawyer in the Supreme Court here in Delhi." Vineet changed the topic.
"Really?" Nivishthi asked.
"Yes," I said with a straight face.
"Okay Shaheera, Abhishek, bye, um, I mean, See you." He waved at us and dragged Nivishthi with him.
"See you guys," I waved back with a smile and Abhishek waved with a broader smile.
"So, you both..." I started to enquire from him about Vineet's sister but, was interrupted by a tall-dark-handsome man dressed in a white shirt and white pants.
"IPS Abhishek?" he asked in a firm voice which was hot as hell.
"Yes," Abhishek said with a straight face.
"Good evening, sir," he greeted Abhi, "I'm your driver, I came to pick you up, let me take it, sir," he said taking his luggage from him, "I'll get the car, sir," he said and moved towards the parking lot.
"See you, Tilli, I'll ask Vinu to give you my new landline number once I reach," he said and I nodded and we exchanged hugs, "don't forget the Biryani," he said.
"Anytime!" I exclaimed, "Hey, your jacket," I recalled and gave back his jacket to him. We met after such a long time, my heart didn't want to let him go like this, I wanted to share every single thing with him which happened with me in these years.
"Don't worry, I'll come to your place, as soon as possible," he said, "then, you share everything with me," he added, "even, I want to tell you every single thing that happened with me in these years."
"You're most welcome," I said with a huge grin and teary eyes.
"Don't cry," he said, hugging me once more and I reciprocated, "you know, I hate tears in your eyes," he said detaching me from himself.
