Help
Barry POV.
"No, he's been asleep for a week. Is he," I pause, he can't be, "is he dead?" I watch him twist and turn, sometimes he scream. It's painful. I'm not sure what's going on in his mind, but it's definitely not pretty.
Caitlin looks at me, and the worry in her eyes tells me everything. "There is a chance that he is, but right now I think he's in a coma."
"Caitlin this isn't your fault." I say, noticing she's biting her lip.
"Well isn't it? If I hadn't freaked and Killer Frost-ed, he never would have," she pauses for a second to catch her breath, "He never got out, this is my fault."
"Why exactly did you freak out? What did he say?"
She turns around. "Barry, I need to promise me you won't react badly or tell anyone."
I raise my eyebrow but agree.
"He said he- he said that he l-liked me." She looks down at her feet. "And I didn't say anything instead KILLER FROST did, ruining everything, and now he's-" She breaks down on her knees and sobs.
I pat her back to comfort her. "It's not your fault." I sigh.
"Caitlin?" Cisco comes into the med-bay. He comes over, eyeing Sebastian then Caitlin.
I decide to leave them. Caitlin needs to tell them, it's not my secret to tell.
"Iris. This whole thing is killing me. I mean- I'm the Flash. I should have been fast enough to save him."
She tilts her head then hugs me. "It isn't your fault, Barry."
Caitlin and Cisco left together. They decided to go to the ice-cream shop.
"Honey, you coming?" Iris says as she grabs her bag.
"You go, I'll go home later."
"Alright."
"Sebastian." I look around to see all of the machines he's attached to. "I need you to wake up, for Caitlin. We-we can't lose you."
"Ya know. I finally learned Cough Syrup. I'm not sure why you like it though." I let out a small laugh. "Don't make me sing it, please, just wake up." I'm not sure what goes through my head but for some reason I thought singing would wake him up.
Life's too short to even care at all oh woah oh,
I'm losin' my mind, losin' my mind, losin' control.
These fishes in the sea, they're staring at me waoh oh,
Oh oh oh oh,
A wet world aches for a beat of a drum,
Oh.
I turn around. This is hard. I realize, he may never wake up.
If I could find a way to see this straight
I'd run away
To some fortune that I should have found by now
I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down, come down.
Life's too short to even care at all oh
I'm coming up now, coming up now, out of the blue oh
These zombies in the park, they're looking for my heart
Oh oh oh oh
A dark world aches for a splash of the sun oh oh
If I could find a way to see this straight
I'd run away
To some fortune that I should have found by now
I'm surprised to hear a second voice sing with me. I turn around. He's back.
And so I run now to the things they said could restore me,
Restore life the way it should be.
I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down
Life's too short to even care at all oh
I'm losing my mind, losing my mind, losing control
If I could find a way to see this straight
I'd run away
To some fortune that I should have found by now
So I run now to the things they said could restore me,
Restore life the way it should be.
I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down
One more spoon of cough syrup now oh
One more spoon of cough syrup now oh
We finish the song together.
"Barry." He smiles.
I grab my phone. I dial Caitlin's number.
"You might want to get over to S.T.A.R Labs."
