What if there was a bigger star that our whole solar system orbited, and every few thousand years the earth gets to close to said star and completely wipes out all living things (ex: the dinosaurs) and only the tiny organisms survived.

This theory is crap and I know it but still it  weirdly fun to think about. How do you think the world will end?
