History: Vanguard Squad is comprised of the next generation of heroes who are a part of the UNDF. Trained by their families and the military at a young age, they're the children of legendary heroes who fought in the 'Final Conflict' and the previous battles/wars that came before, especially one who is the sone of the Biblical Messiah and the current supreme ruler of all creation. As such, these individuals are both extremely skilled and powerful in their own right. Though most would consider them a bunch of mismatched misfits, they work well as a team and as their bond grows deeper, it made them one of the most combat effective squads in the United Nations.

Background: Born in the year 2034 in Moscow, Russa, just four years after the 'Final Conflict', Soren Angelo is a Demi-Primordial, son of Neo Angelo and Nadya Ruslanova. Despite being half-human, Soren would prove himself to be one of the most powerful beings in ALL of creation, equal only to his father. As a child, his life was happy as he shared the same innocence his father once had during his own childhood. But as he grew, he soon became aware of his Primordial nature, especially when his wings first came out when he was just 5 years old. At a young age, he had military training from both the Supernatural and Kaiserreich Earth. He would first go to military academies from both Russia and the Russian Empire before moving on to other military academies in order to hone his skills as a soldier. One of the most prominent military academies was the Imperial Japanese Academy from the Kaiserreich Earth where he trained with the Empire of Japan in melee combat.

Furthermore, he would also be trained by the Archangels (Lucifer included) as they trained him to be both a warrior and a leader. Although his father and mother wanted him to have a 'normal' life, Soren understood that such a dream was impossible given his biological nature and the ever-present dangers that exist throughout creation. Plus, he didn't wish to 'accidently' hurt or kill those close to him, hence why he still accepted the combat training regardless.

Along his journey, he would make friends and allies who would help him become a better warrior. He would also begin to tap into his Angelic powers, allowing him to unlock his ascension forms to become even more powerful. At the age of 16, Soren would be made team leader of Vanguard Squad which comprised members of both his childhood friends and cousins. Now in the present day, Soren fights for the United Nations Defense Force and their allies against the forces of evil and does everything possible to keep the peace his parents and family had fought for.

Personality: Soren is a calm and collected individual but still with a friendly personality. He is born in a time of peace but is raised by individuals who experienced war. As such, he grew up learning about his family history and the expectations he was given. Despite his parents' best attempts at giving him a normal life, it was next to impossible given the fact his powers had begun to manifest at a very young age. As such, Soren was trained to control his powers while also being taught life lessons on what's right and wrong. Neo specially made sure his son grew to be a morally good person and not some spoiled brat who thinks he's better than everyone else just because he was the son of 'God'. Moreover, Neo made sure his son was better than him and be the total opposite on how he turned out as he didn't wish for his son to grow up the same way he did during his childhood and teen years.

He was also taught the art of combat by his family members but the ones who had the most impact on his training were his uncle and aunt, Friedrich IV and Wilhelmina Strasse. Friedrich, while not harsh, was strict when he trained Soren in his form of combat, along with teaching Prussian militarism and nationalism, giving the Demi-Primordial a more militaristic attitude when working in the military. He also learned from his aunt Wilhelmina Strasse as his time spent with her allowed him to learn of a 'One Word Language' from her. This allowed him to decipher and take notice of words and gestures from other people, allowing him to better read them like a book. This was important as it allowed him to better communicate with his two cousins Leopold 'Leo' von Hohenzollern and Charlotte 'Charlie' von Hohenzollern.

He was also taught to be both proficient and adaptable when it comes to dangerous or complicated situations, as evident when he was trained by the Archangels. The Archangels taught him many tricks and skills when it came to combat, but they also trained him to be a leader (mainly done by Michael). However, his relationship with Lucifer is complex at best. While Soren doesn't necessary hate him, he has been known to be both weary and cautious of him. Given Lucifer's past and the damages he's caused, along with essentially being responsible for ruining his human and angelic family in the past, Soren had learned (especially from Osman) to be wearing and on alert when with his now angelic grandfather.

All in all, when it comes to civilian life, Soren is a friendly individual who can be easy to talk to and is always willing to lend a helping hand when someone in in trouble. But when it comes to combat or in the military, he is a serious individual with a no-nonsense attitude, along with being quite brutal and ruthless when on the battlefield.

Background: Moroha was born four years after the events of the 'Final Conflict'. Technically considered a demigod, she's the granddaughter of the Chinese God Erlang Shen. Growing up, she had a 'normal' childhood despite being born in the world of the supernatural. Even though she was born in China, Moroha was trained to be a Shinto Priestess. Having been trained at a young age by her parents, aunts, and uncles, the young girl became an expert combatant, utilizing a customized gun-bow and a sword. She is also childhood friends with Soren Angelo and Tanya von Gregor, along with other friends in the Kaiserreich Universe. Considering the fact that she's a supernatural being from her parent's side of the family, she began manifesting her powers at a young age, more predominantly with her spiritual powers.

As a citizen of the UN, she was required by law to do military service in the UNDF, and when she joined the military, she became a member of Vanguard Squad. It consisted of her two childhood friends and her other family friends from the Kaiserreich Universe. Due to her abilities and skills, Moroha was made the team's marksman/recon sniper. Skilled with archery, she has pinpoint accuracy, and thanks to her godly blood, her senses are enhanced. However, she's no slouch when it comes to CQC/Melee combat. She has romantic feelings for Soren but now has a rivalry with Tanya, who also has a romantic crush on the Demi-Primordial, leading to a love triangle. Thankfully, this doesn't upset their mission capabilities nor does it obstruct their friendship.

In the present day, Moroha works hard to make her parents proud and does her job seriously in the UNDF.

Personality: Often acting as a typical tomboy, Moroha isn't what you'd call a 'proper lady'. While she undoubtedly has otherworldly beauty, she isn't the kind of girl you'd wish to see at a dinner party or ball. Although she inherited a cheerful and friendly personality from her mother, Moroha has also inherited some of her father's personality traits. While not as bad as to the point it could land her in jail, she's well known for sometimes pulling pranks or even throwing insults towards others (minus the racial slurs or offensive themes). Because of this, Moroha is a great and best friend to Sophiel when they both share a common interest in pranking people, but if Moroha has to be honest, she sometimes felt outclassed by Sophiel and her sister, Armina, when the two were the best prank masters, though, in her opinion, Armina would be the best one. After all, Moroha was once tricked by Sophiel into signing a debt contract where she would become a servant and maid to House Hohenzollern. While it wasn't that bad, and in fact, Moroha enjoyed it since she took a liking to the chaotic nature of the German Royal Family, her parents weren't too pleased, and were very much upset and outraged, especially her mother. Luckily, Uncle Neo put a stop to this nonsense before things got worse. Nonetheless, Moroha wasn't mad at Sophiel; instead, she found it all funny.

Also, because of her father, she can have a rowdy personality, never afraid to get into fights and loves the feeling of winning, which of course, sometimes got her into trouble. Because of her love of winning, she has developed a sense of friendly rivalry with Adolf, who is also a skilled archer and marksman like her, and they are always competitive with each other, counting how many enemies they had taken down with their archery skills. Despite this, Moroha and Adolf are still friends because she takes a liking to Adolf's playboy persona, in which she often seeks his advice when it comes to social skills, charisma, and dating – especially the last one due to having a crush on Soren – and found him funny when he had boxing glove arrows in his quiver. Likewise, Adolf and his half-brother, Wilhelm, share the boxing glove arrows with Moroha and their cousin, Leopold, and Moroha finds the arrows comical to use.

Like her father and mother, she can be impulsive with her actions, such as attacking without thinking, which can leave her open after attacking an enemy. In addition, she seems to lack a sense of modesty as she does not mind being seen naked, much to the team's embarrassment, especially Soren. Though that didn't stop her from flashing him sometimes whenever she saw an opportunity. Her family also made her very knowledgeable about the supernatural and the weaknesses she should look out for should she engage any of them. Moroha has also shown to be very smart and analytical, quick in reading her surroundings like a hunter.

She's also a professionalin fighting, thanks to her godly lineage from her grandfather and her trainingfrom her Uncle Neo, she's very proficient with any kind of weapon, somethingshe takes pride in but usually prefers a bow and sword. Despite her roughpersonality, she loves and cares deeply for her family, especially her team. Interms of romance, she has feelings for Soren. Though she did consider himfamily at first, Moroha couldn't help but admire him as the leader he wastrained to become. Of course, this put her on a collision course with Tanya,who also had a crush on the Demi-Primordial. This got her jealous, but shedidn't try to show it for the sake of the team and their friendship. And also,because both girls knew it would hurt Soren to see his two friends fightingeach other over him.

Background: Born 4 years after the 'Final Conflict', Tanya is what many would call a tribrid, which is a mix of 3 races. In her case, she's 1/3 Human, 1/3 Witch, and 1/3 Werewolf. As a young girl, Tanya grew up having a normal childhood... well, as normal as it could be when you're living in the world of the supernatural. She's childhood friends with Soren and Moroha, along with some other friends from the Kaiserreich Universe. Being a supernatural being, Tanya began to discover and manifest her powers and abilities at a young age.

First, it was magic, and then it was her werewolf transformation. This caused her parents, aunts, and uncles to begin teaching her how to use her powers and abilities responsibly without accidentally killing anyone. Due to being part werewolf, Tanya also had to deal with side effects, which caused her sometimes to have both animalistic tendencies and urges that manifested during her puberty. Thankfully, she was able to control them and not cause an incident. This had also caused some awkward situations with Soren, whom she has romantic feelings for.

As a citizen of the UN, she was taught at a young age about military combat and tactics before doing military service in the UNDF. Due to her skills and abilities, Tanya became a member of the Vanguard Squad, with Soren being the leader and her working with her childhood friends. Being the team's scout and tracker, Tanya is responsible for gathering intelligence on enemy positions and tracking down targets from escaping. She's a skilled fighter, and combined with her magic, she's a dangerous opponent on the battlefield. Furthermore, she was able to unlock the special werewolf ability called the Munin Howl. In the present day, Tanya works with her friends to keep the peace and works hard to make her family proud.

Personality: Similar to her parents, Tanya is considered the voice of reason and often acts as the big sister of the group. She's also known for being pragmatic and cautious on the battlefield, but often ends up joining in on any crazy plans or schemes when the situation gets dire, despite how outrageous they may be. Still, she's devoted to her friends and cares deeply for them, especially Soren, on whom she has a romantic crush. She is tough, but she has a heart of gold. Loyal and kind to those she cares for, but short on patience and trust, Tanya tends to be very reactive, often taking an immediate defensive stance (with an offense at the ready) when it comes to dealing with potential threats towards either herself or her friends. Additionally, Tanya has a strong sense of kinship to Alexandrael's celestial wolfhound, Geist, since wolfhounds are the spiritual embodiment of werewolves like herself.

Like many of the soldiers in the UNDF, she's serious about her role on the team and wishes to do her best to make sure everyone comes back alive. However, she often shows a more humorous side, sometimes making jokes and trying to liven up moods. Her feelings towards Soren came when her werewolf abilities began to manifest. When she hit puberty and was training with her werewolf abilities, she had unknowingly placed a mate mark on Soren. This embarrassed Tanya greatly, yet as she saw Soren grow into the leader he was meant to be, Tanya's feelings for him grew exponentially. Of course, this led to a rivalry with Moroha, who also had romantic feelings for Soren, leading to a love triangle between the three childhood friends. However, while they do indeed like the same person, both girls agree not to let their jealousy ruin their friendship, mainly for Soren's sake.
