I blinked awake as the plane landed, a little disoriented and confused. The man who was next to me was already awake and staring straight ahead. I yawned, stretched slightly and looked down the isle. The flight attendants were standing up as the pilot said a few remarks over the intercom. Several people in the back started clapping and I rolled my eyes. It was always so rude to do that, I never understood why people were like that until I realized they were jerks.

I waited until the flight attendants walked past to stand up and take my carry on off and followed the crowd out of the plane. After that it was a blur.

I stared out the window of the car as Quentin drove us back to his house. It was small, and white. I looked around at the surrounding houses, and then the forest across the street. It looked like a nice neighborhood, but the house looked old. I didn't expect this to be where he lived. 

"How do you like it?" He asked. I snapped back to reality and looked at him. 

"It's nice" I smiled. I stood next to the car, just staring. None of this seemed real. 

Quentin nodded and opened the trunk. I took my suit case before he could grab it. I could take my own things, and at the moment it was all I could do not to start crying. It wasn't because of Quentin, or the others, but everything combining into one. Everything just boiled over. 

He took the other bag and I followed him into the house silently. He lead me upstairs, and into a a room with a stooping ceiling. The walls were covered in a pale cream wall paper with poodles printed on it in lines. I laughed just a little at it. It was ugly, but kind of cute in an old fashioned way.

"I'll leave you to settle in" Quentin said. I nodded, looking around quietly. I think through the whole trip here, I barely said a word to him. I felt bad about that, but I couldn't really help it. I didn't want to be here. 

I set down my suit case and started unpacking. I had to make this look convincing if I was going to pull it off. 

I had to hope for the best.
