Your favorite books

1. Right now I am currently reading IT by Stephen King. I am hoping I'll get to see IT chapter 2 Saturday with Josh even though right now we are not together. I still want to see the movie with him.

2. Ever since 6th grade I have been reading the American girl books. I have always been into timelines so I been reading the books according to the timeline. I started with Kaya who is a Native American set in the 1700's. Then I read Felicity who is a colonial girl in Virginia set in during the American Revolution. Now I am reading Caroline who is set during the war of 1812.

3. I have bought a lot of Wiccan books and books on witchcraft. One of my favorite books I gotten is "The Only Astrology book you'll ever need" by Joanna Martine Woolfolk. I was looking at this today because I wanted to read Josh's sign. He's a Taurus and I am a Libra. In this book it talks about all the sun signs and it's amazing how accurate it is. They also list celebrities that might share the same sign as you. That's in chapter 1. Then in chapter 2 it talks about each sign attractions and talk about that sign with other signs. I mostly wanted to look at what they say about Taurus and Libras.

Taurus and Libra

Taurus finds Libra a warm, romantic, vibrant partner. Libra was born to charm and titillate. Steady Taurus balances Libra's indecisiveness. Money may be a problem, for Libra doesn't share Taurus's reverential attitude toward a dollar, but both tend to be acquisitive and like to collect beautiful things. Both signs are ruled by Venus and have  sensual natures, but each expresses this quality differently. In time, Libra's fickleness and casual air toward love can drive Taurus wild; and Libra will certainly resent Taurus's possessiveness. This romantic pairing may not last long.

Yeah I get it now...

Books you want to read

There are a lot of books I want to read but I am still reading IT and Caroline right now plus I haven't been reading as much as I used to so that's what makes it hard.

1. Becoming Mitchelle Obama

I was so excited when the formal first lady had written a book. I gotten it and been wanting to read it. Hopefully I will someday.

2. The Last Wife of Henry VIII by Carolly Erickson

Ashley got me this and I have also been meaning to read it but I haven't had the chance to because of the books I am trying to read now. I had gotten into King Henry VIII since I became roommates with Rachel. She showed me documentaries about him and his wives. I also watched the Tudors on Netflix and now I remember all of his wives names and what happen to them. There is a rhyme that goes like this "Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survive. His first wife was Catherine of Aragon who is the daughter of Mary who we know her as Bloody Mary. When Henry fall in love with Anne Boleyn, he separated from the church and divorced Catherine. She had Elizabeth and then later was beheaded. He got married to Jane Seymour and she finally gave birth to a son name Edward. A couple of days later Jane died from infections. Henry was then forced into married with Anne of Cleves but they were only married for a month because he wasn't at all attracted to her. They never had sex either. When they annuled, Anne agreed to be his sister. Then he was married to Catherine Howard who was his youngest wife. She was only 17 when they married but after a couple of years of marriage he had her beheaded too. Then his last wife which is what this book is about was Catherine Parr and she was the wife that survived and out lived her husband. She was also the smartest wife of them all and she knew how to play it safe. Hopefully I will read this soon and learn more about this fascinating queen.

3. Breaking Night by Liz Murray

It is a Memoir of Forgiveness, survival, and her journey from Homeless to Harvard.I first saw the movie "Homeless to Harvard" that this book is based on in Music class in 7th grade. I loved it and found it amazing. She was born in the Bronx, New York on September 23, 1980 to poor and drug-addicted parents, both of whom would later contract HIV. She became homeless just after she turned 15, when her mother died of AIDS in 1996, and her father moved to a homeless shelter. Despite her late high school start and lack of a stable home, Murray began attending the Humanities Preparatory Academy in Chelsea, Manhattan, graduating in two years. She was awarded a New York Times Scholarship for needy students and was accepted into Harvard University, matriculating in the fall semester of 2000. Her older sister Lisa graduated from Purchase College in New York state and is a school teacher for children with autism. After leaving Harvard in 2003 to care for her ailing father, Liz Murray returned to the university in 2006 and graduated in June 2009. As of August 2009, she began taking graduate courses at Harvard Summer School with plans to earn a doctorate in clinical psychology and become a counselor. Her story is amazing and I hope someday I'll be like her. She actually came to my school when I was a senior at Worcester Tech and she spoke. Afterwords because I was part of the school newspaper I interviewed her for an article with my ex Said. Hopefully I'll get to read her book someday soon.

4. Queer there and everywhere: 23 people who changed the world by Sarah Prager

The author of this book came to a PFLAG (Parents, familities, and friends, of Lesbians and Gays) meeting and talked about the book. She also brought copies the next night at Safe Homes for the youth that were interested in buying one. Because I didn't have any money to buy it and she cold tell I really want this book she gave it to me for free and sign it. I been wanting to read it but I kept forgetting about it. The people the book includes are Abraham Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, Bayard Rustin who wrote MLK's speeches, Harvey Milk, and George Takei. I really want to read this book because I love history and this kind of history fascinates me.

5. Mary Whitney books

Mary Whitney is a friend from Worcester Tech and she is an author. I gotten the first three books last Christmas. ACEilia, My Complex Life, and LGBTQIA+ Pride: Real stories from real people. Since then she have now just published book 8. I been meaning to read those books so I can get the other books she have written later too but I haven't had the chance to.
