The picnic
"Liam, the first family will be here in fifteen minutes. They just reached our boarder."
Liam looked up at Mateo, "already?"
"Yup, Zoey is waiting downstairs for you also."
Liam looked at his watch around his wrist, "okay." Standing up he followed Liam out of his office and down the stairs.
"Everything's prepared. Hill Hounds sent their beta and crescent," Kensley stood with Zoey at the bottom of the stairs. She doesn't dare look Liam in the eyes, simply tells him the info he needed to know then goes about on to the next task. Not even batting her eyes.
Zoey greets Liam- by taking his arm- when he reaches the bottom of the stairs. Audrey soon joins them as they wait outside.
"Aren't you excites? I know I'm excited. Two days and I'll be getting married!" She clapped her hands.
It's Audrey's wedding weekend. Well starting Friday. It's only Thursday, however most of the pack that were invited are starting to arrive already. Like the Hill Hounds. They're the first of many to arrive.
"Look here they come," Audrey mentally prepares herself as the car fully pulls up.
Liam takes a deep breathe, while Zoey gently squeezes his arm. The reassuring manner didn't help what so ever. It only made him stress even more, if possible.
"Two more cars just passed the boarder. The bane pack and the Summit Hills pack." Mateo walks outside just as the car comes to halt.
Out steps a man. Tall build, curly shaggy hair, and hazel eyes. He makes his way to the other side of the car and helps his mate out. Liam along with everyone else starts to make their way over.
"You must be alpha Liam?" The man meets them half way.
Liam nods his head putting out his hand for the man to shake, "yes. Beta of the hill hounds pack. Glad you could make it."
The beta took his hand in his firm grip and shook it, "call me Braylen. This is my mate Paige."
Paige smiles at the group and offers a small wave. Zoey's eyes meet hers and she smiles back.
"I'm assuming this is the bride?" Braylen looks to Audrey.
She steps forward and takes his hand in hers, "yes."
"Nice to meet you again Audrey." Braylen offers her a soft smile.
"Mateo, have someone grab their bags and take them up to their room," Liam turns to Mateo who nods his head, "if you follow him he'll show you the way."
Braylen nods his head and follows after Mateo.
"They're arriving today! Do you have to help greet?" Mercedes checks her outfit one more time in the mirror.
"Surprisingly no."
Mercedes turns to her friend who sits on the bed, "good, have you decided what your going to wear?"
Serenity shakes her head, "I don't know."
"You should wear one of your new outfits," Mercedes raises her eyebrows.
"I haven't even thought about touching that clothes. It's too weird." She shudders.
Sighing Mercedes walks over, "come on!"
"Where are we going?" She asks as her friend pulls her up.
"I'm not going to let all of those cute outfits go to waste!"
Just going along with it, Serenity allows Mercedes to pull her up the stairs and up to her room.
"Pants, skirt or dress?" Mercedes questioned shuffling through all of the clothes.
"Pants, preferably," Serenity took a seat on her bed.
"Fine," she pulled out a pair of ripped jeans and a white shirt, "you also got white AirForce's right?" Looking over she noticed that her friend was paying no attention to her and looking out the window. Walking over she looked out the window also, "surprised that your not helping?"
Serenity nods her head, "a little."
"Maybe it's because the ribs you broke."
She shook her head, "that was a few days ago though. I'm perfectly fine now."
"Take advantage of it! Here get dressed."
Taking the clothes Serenity got up and stripped in the corner. After putting on the clothes she took the band around her wrist and put her hair half up half down. Her wild curls streamed perfectly around her face.
"What time does the picnic start?"
"In thirty minutes. Speaking of which I have to meet Julianne."
Serenity sighed, "why now?"
"Something about coordinating the perfect outfit to match my bothers. Her and her obsession with him." They shake their head in unison.
"You better go before she starts looking for you."
"Your right," Mercedes makes her way towards the door, "I'll see you when Julianne realizes I'm not help."
"Okay have fun!"
Aston thought the picnic was anything but convenient. Of course it was mandatory for everyone to go and greet the guest that have arrived. The whole thing in his eyes was weak. It was so weak that the meat was supposed to be cooked. To accommodate the extra heads.
He walked out his room and into the kitchen where his mom had several huge pans of whatever laying on the counter. Walking over he lifted the cover to one revealing the green beans. Putting the cover back on he backed up.
"Aston, take those over to the picnic for me," his mom walked in.
"Yes ma'am. Just these four?"
"Yes, your father will get the rest."
Aston nodded his head and took the pans, and started the walk to the pack house. It didn't take him long. Simply walking to the back yard he saw all the cutesy decorations and mentally scoffed. He set down the pans in the kitchen then went out back where everyone was already gathering.
Blankets were spread out all over the yard. People could sit wherever they wanted and have a "picnic".
He looked around for a certain girl and he just do happened to find her sitting by herself on a blanket looking around quite lost. Making his way over he took a seat next to her, "sad to see you with clothes on."
She looks over at him and mentally frowns, "umm what are you doing here?"
"It's a requirement to come."
Serenity shook her head, "no I meant, like here."
"What can I say. I like your company."
She continued shaking her head, " out of everyone else here. No possible way."
"Believe it, because it's true." He spread his legs across the blanket.
"Nope I'm not believing it."
"Why not?"
"Because you hate me."
Aston shook his head and chuckled, "I don't hate you."
"Yes you do."
"Do not. Why would I hate you?"
Serenity's eyes narrowed in on him, "no reason." She purses her lips and looked around.
"Exactly, because I don't hate you."
"Are you trying to convince me? Or yourself?" She immediately regretted saying those words and look down. Trouble was something she did not need right now.
To her surprise he laughed and put his thumb under her chin making her pick her head, "listen cupcake. I couldn't possibly hate you."
At last Liam finished greeting everyone that RSVP'ed to come on Thursday. With Zoey still on his arm they walk inside the house.
"It wasn't quite as chilly as I thought it was going to be," Zoey spoke trying to make conversation.
"I thought it was kind of hot," Liam shrugged off Zoey's arm.
"Could we get some help taking out these platters?" Someone asked as they were passing through the kitchen.
Zoey stopped, "I'll help."
Liam stopped dead in his tracks and turned to Zoey. His eyes met hers and she shrugged going over to help the lady.
"Thank you very much!"
"It's no problem." Zoey gave her a soft smile.
Liam frowned and helped them. Making a mental note to scold Zoey later.
They made their way outside and put the platters down on the table. A few eyes lingered on Liam who was actually helping. Mateo applauded him silently from afar.
Upon putting the platter down he looked around the yard to see who had already came, when he saw it.
Her lips on his.
How dare they? Liam didn't quite understand why he's mad, but he's mad. He is furious.
Both Zoey and Mateo sensed this and they pulled him to the side.
"What's wrong?" Zoey asked grabbing his hand.
He shook her off. His face is red hot seeing how his blood boiled with anger. He always got in the way.
"Hey, cool down. I'm sure it's not that serious. You don't need to be making a scene right now, man." Mateo walked over.
"Don't tell me what I should and shouldn't be doing," Liam almost growled out.
Zoey deciding she needed to take control of the situation grabbed his face in her hands, "hey. Take a deep breathe."
Liam closed his eyes as they stood nose to nose. He surprisingly listened and took a deep breathe.
"I don't know what you saw, but we can't be making a scene right now. A lot of important guests are here. We need to set a good example."
He nods his head, "your right." His voice is low and deep almost like a rumble.
"We're going to walk back out there and act like everything is fine. You can deal with whatever is bothering you after everyone is up in their rooms, okay?" She dropped his face.
Liam opens his eyes and nods his head.
"Good job." Mateo secretly whispers to Zoey as they walk back out.
Feedback?
Aston and serenity kissed?
Who all do you think saw?
Zoey and Liam?
