Epilogue

Two years later

Cadmael's POV

"Angel, wake up."

I groaned in protest not wanting to wake up. He had been trying to wake me up for some time and this time I knew he had successfully chased away my dreams.

"~What is it, Mike?~" I was annoyed now. I hated that he woke me up early, knowing he had kept me up all night.

"~It's Theo's birthday love. I woke up early and didn't manage to stop by his room. I got the little ones with me. I just want you to check up on him.~" He explained sweetly knowing his words will coax me in doing what he wanted.

"~Fine! I'm up.~"

"~Thanks, Angel.~"

I disconnected the link and got up from the bed. I stretched my stiff muscles and slightly limped to the bathroom. Last night was a wild night. Michael likes it rough and I can't deny that I love it just like that.

I pushed the thoughts away and took a shower. After getting dressed and all the time wasted on the mirror, I descended down the stairs to the kitchen.

I collected the cake I baked for Theodore and cut just a piece then brought it up to his room. I lightly knocked before entering his room.

"Happy birthday, son." I teased and he glanced at me with a smile, sitting up on his bed.

"Thanks dad." He smiled.

I sat beside him and he ate his cake in silence. I sighed and placed my hand on his shoulders in comfort.

"It's your birthday, at least be happy about it." I said and he shook his head.

"I'm trying, Cad. I just can't be happy about it."

"Have you talked to Alec?"

"No." He sighed in defeat and placed the plate of cake on his bed.

Today being his 18th birthday, he was to experience a mate call which was something he dreaded. He loved Alec and having a mate appear now, would destroy their relationship. They had an argument two days ago and since then, it seemed he hadn't talked to him. I knew deep down he longed to see Alec but it was for the best to be apart for now at least.

"I don't want anyone other than Alec and he thinks I'm being childish with my choice."

I didn't like his choice of wanting to reject his mate. I just could not stop imagining if it was me that was waiting for a mate and only for them to reject me. It was cruel. But then again, his love for Alec was so strong and I had no doubt he would reject anyone without a sweat.

"Your father will not agree with you on that." I murmured. Knowing Michael, he was still sensitive on the mate issues and he would greatly disagree with Theodore's decision. He didn't like his relationship with Alec but only tolerated it.

"I know." He sighed and I left him in his room.

I stopped by the kid's room to check if anything needed washing but I found everything was fine. I knew Mary must have stopped by and left to wash the dirty things already.

During the past years, a lot had changed. At last, me and Michael were officially mated and was now the Luna. It was a wonderful event, one of which I would never forget. Months before the ceremony, Michael and his crew had built a new big pack house. It was a very beautiful house and we moved in there right after our ceremony.

Mary liked looking after my kids and since they were with Michael, washing their clothes was the thing she was likely doing. I smiled and went down to the kitchen. It was almost lunch time and Michael would soon be coming back.

"Good morning, Luna."

"How are you, Luna?"

Those greetings, I would never get tired of hearing them. They made me happy and I always smiled as I greeted the people back. I was really glad they liked me and accepted me as their Luna and I couldn't ask for more.

"~Angel, I'm almost home.~" I smiled at the voice of Mike.

"~I'll be in the dining room.~"

"Is everything ready?" I asked Sam who was preparing lunch today.

"Yes Luna."

I then helped him set the table in the dining room. No matter how much I insisted on cooking my own meals, the omegas refused to let me do so. We only agreed for them to not cook on Sundays because it was a family day. However, I sometimes helped them prepare food when I was free.

"Where are my babies?" I asked Michael when he came in the dining room alone.

"Mary and Ashton insisted on changing them first; they will join us soon."

I nodded and after Theodore joined us, we started eating. I was sitting on my mate's right side and Theodore was on his left. It was silent with just the plates and spoons making a noise. Theodore picked at his food and I stayed quiet deciding not to mention it.

"How was your journey?" I asked my mate.

"It was okay." He continued eating and I just watched him eat.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" Michael inquired.

"Nothing. Just thinking about how much I love you." I winked at him and he smiled.

Our moment was disturbed by the sound of the door. A quick sweep around the room told me it was Theodore who had just left the room. His food was still on his plate which meant he had not eaten anything.

"What's up with him?"

"I don't know." I shrugged still staring at the closed door. "Perhaps you should go find out."

"Me?"

"Yeah, you." I looked at my mate who gave me a look that clearly begged me to change my mind. I knew Michael was avoiding having the talk with his son. And it was up to me to make him do it

"You will talk to him Michael." I stated not leaving any place for an argument.

"Fine."

We finished eating and got up the stairs together. Michael stopped outside Theodore's room and I gave him a smile.

"It will be fine. Just listen to him and be his father not Alpha." I assured him. I kissed him on his cheek and went on my way to the children's room.

My babies were growing up just fine with no problem at all. Every time I saw them, it was a constant reminder of Justice. I missed him a lot and every day I wished he was here with us. Our family will never be complete without him.

Michael's POV

The talk with Theo wasn't easy and I really wished to skip it. It was only after he broke down in my arms that I knew this wasn't easy for him. He cried so hard and I've never seen him cry that much. This whole thing was completely messed up.

"I'm scared daddy." My son cried.

He was scared with how much he loved Alec, to meet his destined mate. He didn't know what would happen if he met his mate. He didn't want to erase Alec or be without him.

"You don't have to worry about tomorrow. What matters is about today and now. You have Alec now and that's what matters. I want to see you happy son, it's every father's dream to see their children happy. And right now I want to see you happy. Let's go to Alec."

I drove my son to his happiness at the moment, which was Alec. He smiled at me and whispered a thank you as he ran up to the house. I didn't wait around much, my plan was to drop him off, so I left him and drove back home.

I was surprised the sun was setting for I didn't realize how much time I had spent with Theo as the sun signaled the end of the day.

As I watched the sun, I suddenly felt tired and sleepy. I was still driving and sleeping right now would not make things right. So I fought to stay awake but I could feel that I was losing. The car stopped just as I lost consciousness.

"Are you okay?"

I looked up to see who was talking to me. After my eyes adjusted to the light, I was able to make the face.

"Justice?" I asked in disbelief. I couldn't believe that he was standing here before me. I took a good look at him and what I saw constricted my heart.

"What happened to you?" My voice was shaky as well as the hand that I brought to his cheeks.

"I'm alright." He gave me a smile and I shook my head; he wasn't fine. "I'll be alright, Michael. Just listen to me."

"You should come home with me."

"Michael, listen to m-"

"We miss you, Ice, please you have to come back." I whispered. He had dark circles around his eyes. His eyes were not so beautiful like the ones I saw years ago. He looked so tired and I knew I had to take him home.

"Michael, you are dreaming. I'm in your dream!" He yelled, trying to make me understand. I gasped when I saw our surrounding change. We were now in a forest.

"Michael, I need you to listen to me."

I looked at him and nodded. I could sense something was wrong and I wanted to know what.

"I don't have much time. I have sent a couple in your way. They will arrive there any day from tomorrow. You have to keep them safe. My safety depends on the survival of these people."

"Wait, what?" I absolutely had no idea on what he was talking about. I didn't understand.

"I had a vision, Michael. There is a war coming. The royals have been planning about it for years now. I'm there most treasured weapon to win the war."

"We are strong. We can fight them off."

"No, Michael. You can't win this war. The only chance for winning the war is for you to save the couple coming there. They will have a son who will grow up and defeat the royals. Only he and he alone, can defeat the royals and win you this war."

I stayed silent letting the words sink in. A war! There hasn't been one in a long time. I knew the royals were powerful and they were capable of starting a war, so I didn't doubt his words at all.

"What's your plan, Justice?" I asked after seeing the determined look in his eyes.

"I plan to kill the King or Queen."

"Don't be ridiculous!"

"It's the only way to slow down their plan. I'm taking the only option we have to buy us time." He insisted.

"They will kill you! Think about Cad and the kids. Think about us."

"That's exactly what I'm doing. I'll be fine. They won't kill me because I'm important to them."

I shook my head, I wasn't agreeing with him on that. He was being stupid.

"Please trust me, Michael." He pleaded and we stared at each other. Suddenly I was seeing things.

It was our family, laughing and chatting happily. We were not incomplete because Justice was there with us. It was a complete family. Cad was looking older than now and so were I and Justice. The children were all grown up and had mates.

"That is the future I've seen, Michael. I want you to know that we will be together sometime but right now we can't get what we want. I'll be fine."

A tear slipped down my cheeks as Justice kissed me. My eyes were closed and I desperately kissed him back. That future he had shown me gave me hope for a better future that was securely installed for us. I had to be strong and not let Justice down.

***

I woke up from my dream and drove home. It was late by now, the sun long gone and the moon shining brightly. I parked the car and rushed inside the house. I wasn't feeling hungry so I didn't stop in the kitchen for food.

I opened the children's bedroom door and walked inside. I nodded at Ashton in acknowledgement, who insisted on watching over the kids at night. The guy was totally taking his guardian duties very serious. I bid my babies goodnight and left the room.

My angel was already asleep when I got in our bedroom. I showered first and then lied down beside him.

"~Meeting tomorrow at 08:00.~" I sent through the pack link.

We were to start training both dominants and omegas. A war was coming and I wanted everyone to at least be able to protect themselves. I also planned to meet Elijah and tell him about it. We had to be ready to protect our loved ones and pack. We had to be strong.

I pulled my angel to my chest and held him there. He was the love of my life. And I was glad he was still the one that I found a long time ago. He was the one and would always be the one for me and Justice.

I then remembered my last conversation with Justice.

"Don't tell Cad about the war. I want him to raise the kids with no worry of an upcoming war."

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" I asked Justice and he shrugged.

"Don't worry about it, Michael. Nothing bad will come of it."

So once again I was to keep a secret to my mate. It wasn't mine to tell anyway. It was his other mate's secret and I was only keeping it. I kissed his head and breathed in his scent. I would never get tired of his smell and would always love the man in my arms. He was the mother of my children and Luna to my pack.

But most of all...........................

"He is what keeps me going. "

"That's true, Justice; he was what kept us going strong. He was the one."
