Chapter Ten
A/N
This is covering what Michael was doing when his mate left. So it will be jumping events from day to days.
Michael's POV
I was in my office going through the list of my employees. I was looking at their age and type of work they do in my company. Many of them were old and the type of work they were doing wasn't suitable for their age.
I knew they were werewolves but I still didn't want that to determine how long one was supposed to still be working. My company was growing each year which meant more employees were needed. I paid each and every one according to what they did in my company. I didn't take advantage of them because they were people in my pack; I played fair and was never corrupted, so that was why my company and pack was strong.
I sighed and dropped the files on my desk. Thoughts of my mate started to fill up in my mind and I couldn't work anymore. I missed my angel and I couldn't wait to have him back in my arms. It's been five days since they left but it felt like years have passed. It was truly frustrating and I hated every moment of it. Just then, my phone vibrated in my pocket and the song Angel by Lionel Rich started playing. I hastily took it out because I knew, if it wasn't already obvious with the tone, that my angel was calling me. I frowned when I realized he was calling when I was in the office. He never does that because he doesn't like 'disturbing' me. Unless.....
"Hello, is everything okay angel? Are you hurt?"
"Ha! Breathe, will you. I'm fine and healthy like a horse if that's what you're wondering." He answered and I smiled. I definitely missed him.
"It's alright if you say so." I smiled, picturing him in here with me. "But why the afternoon calls dear?"
"What? I'm not supposed to?"
"That's not what I meant, angel. It's just that you don't usually call in the afternoon."
"Oh, okay. Well, I just had this urge to talk to you, so I called. What's up?" He asked and I smiled.
I liked that about Cad. He was always ready to help me out. So I told him how I planned to have a pack meeting in three days coming. We were to discuss about work and warrior training. I also told him about how an omega requested that I let them work in the company. It's for their safety that I didn't want them working and not that I was biased.
"Why not? I think you should let them work in your company, honey."
"No way! It's dangerous to work on construction. I don't want them to get hurt; it's for the best angel." I reasoned.
"How about this...." And so he explained to me what he had in mind. He suggested I introduce another department apart from construction. He thought I should have a designing department where he will manage that part and work with the omegas. I thought it was a good idea and might as well decide on working on it. We talked a lot more then ended the call.
I really thought my mate's idea might work out. The omegas would have to work and learn from Cad about designing. In that way, when we work on different buildings, my mate and his team will be designing. It was killing two birds with one stone and I liked it. A knock sounded on the door and I told them to come in. Alec walked in with his head down.
"Um, Alpha sir," he looked up at me and I nodded then he looked down again. "There is a client on line two, he is complaining on what the constructors working on his building are doing." He explained and he didn't have to say the name for me to know who it was. There is one person who liked to complain all the time.
"Okay, thanks Alec." I said and he left soon after. I had Alec working as my secretary for now, since he was my responsibility until Theo came back. I was always at the office so it could have been kind of hard to look after someone who was home. I had to get my son forgive me anyway, so I was working so hard. He was really shy and now that I saw it in that way, he was definitely a submissive. I won't say much on the age part though.
I picked up the phone and talked to Alpha Innocent. He wanted a hall built and I had sent my employees to do it since it wasn't that serious to require me on it. Alpha Innocent thought differently though. He always thought my people didn't know the work and that I best be there. I couldn't always be going out on field to work.
I had a pack to lead and look after, as well as a mate to please. I told him off and that if he didn't like the work he had to do it himself then. I had confidence in my people and I knew I've taught them well to do things right. I ended the call and sighed. I had a lot to do, so I went right back to working the whole day.

I got out of my car with Alec and headed to the pack meeting hall. The pack meeting was at six in the evening. As we got near the hall, I could hear the noise coming from it. I knew it was full with my pack members as they waited for me to arrive. I entered the hall and climbed up some steps to get in front where I was to address them.
"Silence!" My beta, Daniel, shouted and the room quieted down. I stood beside my beta and faced the pack.
"Thank you all for coming today. There are a few reasons why I called up the meeting." I paused and looked around the room. They were all looking at me with curious gazes.
"I haven't announced it yet and some of you heard or guessed but I've found my mate." The crowd cheered, clapped and whistled happily. They knew how long I've been unmated and now they were happy for me and happy they've found a Luna finally. I'm glad to know that they may be having a future Alpha soon. I didn't tell them that though.
"I will introduce him to the pack soon. Right now, he and Theo are visiting the Luna of Lunas." I said.
I knew I should have introduced him to the pack already but since Cadmael got here, it has been all chaos. I'm not sure if it's a right time for a celebration. As soon as I get rid of the witches, I would introduce him to the pack and have the ceremony of making him Luna of my pack.
I continued the meeting by telling them I would be taking new employees replacing the ones retiring. I also explained how the omegas will now be working since I had already started putting the plan in motion. The crowd cheered happily and I knew there would be more omegas coming up to work. When I was done explaining everything I planned to share with them, they began asking where they didn't understood. It wasn't many questions so I wrapped everything up and left. We had just pulled up to the house when I felt my phone's vibration for a call.
"Elijah," I answered with a smile while leaning against the car. I had sent Alec inside already to sleep since the meeting took us 3 hours and it was late.
"Hey cousin," he said and I sighed at the sound of his voice. I knew better for now, not to ask about it, so I didn't ask.
"Are you coming tomorrow?" I asked since I called him days ago and he promised to come tomorrow.
"That's why I'm calling. I'm sorry couz; I can't come tomorrow but expect me any day."
"Okay. I trust that you will come." I told him and we said our good nights and ended the call with a sigh. Elijah was facing a very difficult moment in his life and it hurt me that I couldn't help. It was his fight and he alone could end it.
I walked inside the house and locked the door. I went in the kitchen for a bit, to collect a bottle of water then continued upstairs. When passing by Theo's room, I could hear Alec talking on the phone and by the giggles, I knew it was Theodore. I shrugged and went on my way to my bedroom. I removed my shoes and the clothes I had on then lay down on the bed. I took my phone and dialed the important person I missed.
"Hello, Angel.
***
I opened the front door and made my way to the drive way where Elijah's car was parked. Three days has passed since the call and I was glad he was finally here. I made sure I wasn't busy today with the company so that I could meet him. I suggested we get inside the house but he had other ideas by suggesting we take a walk.
"So tell me couz, who is this other woman exactly?" I asked after walking in silence for some time.
"Her name is Joyce. I'm sure you've heard of that." He started and told me all about Joyce. I would say she's a strong woman having the confidence to wreck an Alpha's home. I also blamed him because he had brought this on his own and now things were hard to handle. He should be thankful Kacper was strongly calm because I knew Cadmael wouldn't have took all that in. He has a fierce temper sometimes.
"You promised to tell me about Theo's mother." He said after we talked about Joyce. We were now sitting on a large rock in a certain place inside the forest.
"And so I will."
So I told him about Katherine. I explained about what happened then and also what was now. I told him all about Alec and Ashton. To say he was surprised when I finished my story was an understatement.
"I didn't say something about Joyce. I thought it wasn't important." He said.
"What didn't you tell me?" I asked curiously.
"Joyce is a witch too. And not just any witch."
"....what do you mean?"
"She is the high priestess of the Old Dark Forest coven."
The moment I heard that, I started searching for my phone. When I realized I didn't have it on me, I sprinted back to the house. I had to talk to my mate and know he was safe. I couldn't believe I had sent him right to the enemy. I just hoped he was fine.
"Wait! What do you plan to do?" Elijah called out as he ran after me.
"I'm not sure for now but first of all, I'm taking my mate out of your house." I snarled as I burst inside the house and got my phone then dialed my mate. It was finally time for him to come back home. I needed to make sure both my mate and son were alright as I would be planning on how to deal with this Joyce witch.
"Angel speaking," He answered.
