In my head I hear the annoying voice of my wolf "told ya someone would get hurt."

I quickly respond "SHUT UP FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!"

Not hearing another word from her I focus on Eli "I'm so so sorry Brenna was distracting me. But now that I'm here I'm going to kill that SON OF A BITCH!"

His head snaps up "no you can't do that you'll be mate-less and Queen. Without a mate you won't have pups and without pups there is no heir with no heir the whole werewolf kingdom falls into anarchy."

"I'll find some other mate-less sap and have pups with him BUT I'll make sure he had a mate and they died. BUT HE HAS TO DIE I'M GOING TO KILL HIM MYSELF!" screaming at the top of my lungs at the last part and, run inside the palace. To find my mates arm healing. I point at him and scream "YOU!"

His head lifts from his arm "I never thought that my own mate would hurt me," I hear him whisper. My wolf whimpers, but I keep it from coming out my throat. "My mate hurt me for another man," he continues.

I see his wolf start to come out, so I half shift wanting to be able to defend myself "I don't know you. I never wanted a mate. You hurt my best friend and now I'm going to kill you."

I hear the door open behind me, and I hear a voice come from it "Meagan, don't, please, you need him. You kill him and you'll be mateless, Queen, and your wolf will be dormant."

I turn to him "I know Eli. I know. But he hurt you and whomever hurts my family has to go through me."

My mate looks at me confused "family? I thought you said he was your best friend."

"He is but he is my chosen family," I say still pissed off at him.

"So you don't love him?" he questions.

"I do love him but like a brother, you dip shit."

His face goes from confused to sorry in record time "oh shit I'm sorry. I thought that you were leaving me for him."

Starting to get even more pissed I scream at him "ONLY PEOPLE WITH MATES CAN SUPERVISE THIS TRIP YOU MOTHER FRUCKER!"

"I remember that now," he replies, "we need to get him to the pack doctor."

He starts to walk towards me, "NO! STAY BACK! YOU'VE DONE ENOUGH!" I scream at him. My wolf wines again, as he takes a step back.

I hear Eli sigh and he walks over to the King and I listen as he says "take me to the pack doctor, please." they start to walk off and I quickly run to follow.

"Eli don't tell me you trust him," I say

"Of course not, but I need a doctor to heal my face so it won't scar," he says in a 'duh' tone. Realisation goes across his face and he stops walking and mutters "shit."

"What? What is it?" I ask worried.

"Leo can feel my pain." as he says that my phone rings, Leo.

"Did you give him my phone number?" he nods "did you break into my phone and put his number in?" he nods again. Sighing I pick up the phone before it cuts out. "Hello?" I ask not wanting to deal with an angry mate.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO ELIJAH?!" he screams into the phone, "HE HAS A CUT ON HIS FACE THE SIZE OF ALPHA CLAWS!"

"Please calm down Leo, please. I need you to be calm when I tell you this."

"Don't tell me he's going to die, please, I know I just found him but I need him."

"No, god no he's not going to die. The King just ran his claws down Eli's face." I say the first thing that comes to mind and when it comes out I know I said the wrong thing.

"WHAT?! WHAT THE FUCKING HELL DO YOU MEAN THE KING RAN HIS CLAWS DOWN MY MATES FACE?!" Leo exclaims clearly angry.

"Let's just say he was not to happy that I didn't want to be his mate and just walked out with Eli going after me," I say. I don't hear anything come from the other end. "Hello? Are you still there?" Silence. "Ummm Leo are you still there?"

After another minute my mate comes back and looks at the both of us, "are you coming or not?"

That seemed to bring the other end back "IS THAT THE BITCH WHO HURT MY MATE?! HUH IS IT?!" again with the screaming.

But not wanting to piss of the werewolf even more I respond truthfully "ya it is."

"LET ME TALK TO THE BITCH THAT YOU CALL A MATE!"

Sighing I say "fine but talk okay? None of this screaming crap."

I hear a mumbled "fine," come from the other end of the phone.

Looking at the man that is supposed to be my mate I say "it's for you," and hand him the phone.

Confused he puts the phone to his ear and says "hello?"

I immediately hear yelling come from the other end, it was muffled but it was clear the he was yelling. My eyes widen a little, and I look at Eli to see him smiling a little bit. I look at the King, to see him handling it well "I am aware of your concern and we are taking him to the pack doctor," I can't hear Leo any more so I'm guessing he stopped screaming at my so called mate "yes I know that," I can only listen to half of the conversation. We continue walking to the doctor as they speak. "I'll make sure he'll come back to you in a better condition than he is now," I scoff, he was in a better condition when he got here than right now.

We get there, they end the call, and a doctor leaves the room and jumps when he sees Devin. He quickly speaks "King what can I do for you?"

He responds with "I need to stitch up this man face," and puts his hand on Eli's back

The doctor looks at Eli and nods "come in, come in. I'm going to need to know what happened," he speaks while walking into the office again.

I step forward and speak before anyone else can "Mr. Alpha over there thought it would be a good idea to run his claws down Elijah's face."

The doctor raises an eyebrow "And who are you might I ask?"

I feel more than one person staring at the back of my head, knowing it's the boys I continue "I'm his friend now fix him," I jab my thumb at Eli.

The doctor smirks and gets in my face "I don't have to do what you say, you low life, I work for the King. Not you," he whispers and backs up.

Devin growls "you will not speak to your Queen that way,"

The doctor's eyes widen, as he backs up "I- I- I am so sorry, I didn't know," he bows his head to me.

I sigh "it's fine just fix him!" I exclaim.

He quickly gets to work and Devin steps beside me "I like how you handled that," he states. I sigh and put in my headphones and turn on my queen playlist. Killer Queen starts to play and I smile at Eli, when I see the slash on his face is smaller, with less blood pouring out.

Once we leave, I give Eli a hug. "I know you have to leave and I have to stay. But I'll come and visit anytime I can. I'll miss you," I say the last part as I let him go "I'll call, everyday, don't worry," I smile.

Elijah smiles back "I know. But I always worry about you, and I always will." he turns to my mate "can I talk to you alone please?" he nods and they walk off.

A couple of minutes later they come back. Knowing that 'goodbye' is hard for both me and Eli so instead I hug him and say "see you later."

He smiles, nods and says "see you later."

The second the door is closed and Elijah can no longer see me, I'm picked up and thrown over someone's shoulder. I scream "PUT ME DOWN! NOW!" they don't listen and I hear a door open. The next thing I know I'm tossed on a bed and I hear a lock click. I jump up and, foolishly, try to open the door. "LET ME OUT!" Nothing happens. I sit down on the bed, defeated. I reach in my pocket for my phone only to find it not there. My mate must have taken it. I take a shower and when I leave I open the only other door in the room to find it full of clothes. Looking around I find it filled with cloths that only a hore would wear, crop tops, short shorts, for underwear all I see are thongs and lacy bras. (A/N: no offence to people who do wear these clothes I just hate them) disgusted I find the longest crop top I can find. God smiles down on me when I find an actual pair of shorts, don't get me wrong I still want an authentic pair of pants, but I'll make due with what I have.

Three days have gone by and the last time I saw Devin was, well, three days ago. People have brought me food, I never ate it, I just put in the closet. No one can smell the food rotting, for some reason I can't understand. When they bring me food, they don't speak, even when I talk to them.

Flashback

My door unlocks and a young girl walks in, with a tray filled with food, "Hello, who are you?" I ask. I don't a response. She just puts the food down and leaves.

End of flashback

That's happened every day three meals a day, different person daily. All female. I look at the pile of clothes started in the corner. A thought pops in my head. I dig through my clothes until I find the bra I came in. I dig in the pocket I made. And bring out what I need. I hear the door unlock and I jump back onto the bed hiding what I found. Another girl walks in. She has deep red hair, really pale, and wearing a twenty one pilots sweater, with ripped jeans.

"Hi," she smiles "I'm Katie, Devins best friend," I don't say anything back knowing my voice would be raspy because I even ditched the water they gave me, not trusting it. "Not much of a talker huh? Well that's okay, everyone who came in here thought you were-" she was cut off by the door opening again.

"Katie what are you doing in here," Devin grabs her arm and drags her outside the room.

What were the others thinking about me? Did they think I was fat? Ugly? Not worthy of the King? My thoughts go on and on and on. I curl into a ball and tuck into the wall, where the bed is. It gets hard to breath, and panic settles into my chest. It's all getting to me and he took away my coping mechanism. This goes on for about a minute before I pass out.

I wake up where I passed out and a tray of food on the bedside table. I dump the water down the sink and throw the food in the closet with the rest. I find what I hid yesterday and walk into the bathroom. I look at the pocket knife in my hand, think 'I promised Elijah that I wouldn't. That I would stop' and walk back out throwing it back in the pile with my clothes. I lay back down on the bed and try not to think. I don't know how long I didn't move from that position but it was dark out when the door opened. I sit up and look at him. The monster who kept me trapped in here, to slowly lose my mind.

"I hope the clothes and food are to your liking."

It wasn't a question but I respond anyway, my voice sounding as if it was my first time talking, ever, "no. Oh sorry I wouldn't know about the food I haven't tried it."

He looks confused "you've eaten every meal-"

I cut him off "look in the closet."

"Wh-"

"Just look." he walks over to the closet and opens the door, and immediately cringed back. "All of the food brought to me here, I can't trust it." all of a sudden I feel extremely tired. I lay down "I'm just gonna take a nap, okay?" I say yawning afterward. Just as my eyes are closing he runs up to me and kneels down beside the bed.

"No no keep your eyes open ok? Please just for me, please," he begs. A king begging, never thought I would see that in my life. But I still can't trust him, so I let darkness overcome my body.

When I wake up, all I see is white and everything is in pain. Tingles run up my arm. I sit up and look around, Devin is holding my hand, Eli is in a chair in the corner, and I think her name was Katie is leaning against the wall with her arms crossed. All of them are sleeping. Smirking I start to sing why worry, by Set it off. "Why do we insist, on crossing bridges that do not exist? Let's take these issues, step by step by step, to work it out, day by day by day we're falling down, but life goes on. I've got some questions, are you sick of feelin' sorry? Uh huh, and people sayin' not to worry? Uh huh, sick of hearing this hakuna matata motto, from people who won the lotto, we're not that lucky. Have you noticed that you're breathing? Uh huh, look around and count your blessings, Uh huh, so when you're sick of all this stressin' and guessin' I'm suggestin' you turn this up and let them hear you sing it. Whyyyyy! Why do we worry?" with a groan his eyes slowly open. They search the room a little until they land on my sitting form. He jumps up from his spot and runs over to me only to engulf me in a hug.

"You're up!" he screams in my ear. Devin shoots up and Katie jumps into a fighting stance.

"Ow, Eli how many times have I told you not to scream in my ear?" he shrugs, his shoulders "if it's more than once then, I've told you too many times," he nods apologetically. Katie runs up to me next and engulfs me in a bone crushing hug. "Can't.. Breath," I whisper.

She quickly let's go "sorry."

Next I just look at Devin, still holding my hand. He just stares at me. After about ten minutes of silence he speaks in a hushed voice "why?" is all he says.

"Why what?" I try and be oblivious.

"Why would you do that to yourself?"

Eli responds before I can "I TOLD YOU THAT SHE HAD ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION YOU ASS! SHE THOUGHT THAT YOU HAD FORGOT ABOUT HER! THAT YOU DIDN'T CARE! WHERE WERE YOU WHEN SHE WAS PUTTING THE FOOD IN HER CLOSET? WHERE WERE YOU WHEN SHE GOT RID OF ALL THE WATER? WHERE WERE YOU WHEN-" he seems to think of something "tell me you didn't." Knowing what he's referring to I shake my head. "Thank god, I know it's hard to keep that promise and I'm glad you're trying," he smiles.

Devin suddenly stands and starts screaming "YOU WILL NOT YELL AT YOUR KING! EVER! YELL AT ME AGAIN AND I WILL NOT HESITATE TO KILL YOU!"

Eli bows his head and goes to apologize but I beat him to it "you will not scream at my best friend and threaten him like that again and there will be no hope for you and me. Carry out that threat not only will you have to deal with me but my old pack and trust me when I say this, if you carry out that threat I will not hesitate to return. The. favor," I say pissed.

Shocked he responds with a snarky remark "your wolf wouldn't let that happen and we both know it," the bastard is smirking.

A plan forms in my head "do you know what my old pack is?" he shakes his head. "Good let's keep it that way."

The doctor walks in, "shes up! You should have called me in the second that her eyes opened, I mean no disrespect Alpha," he puts his hands up in defense. Devein nods his head and the doctor walks over to me taking out a, portable, heart monitor out of his pocket and places it on my finger. He takes my blood pressure, nods and asks "can we keep you here overnight for observation?" I nod my head and he leaves.

"I'm leaving when you get out your brother needs me," Eli smiles sadly. I cock my eyebrow "fine and I have not spent much time with Leo," I open my arms and he gives me a hug.

I whisper to him "I love you and I'll always miss you," and let go.

Time skip

Eli's leaving today. I'm taking him to the airport and Devin is letting me go by myself. I put Eli's bag in the trunk and go back inside grab what I need and throw it in the trunk and slam it shut. I give Devin a hug before I leave because I know he won't see me again. I give Katie a number that can't be traced, to give them false hope. I jump in the car and we're off.

At the airport I tell the driver to take the longest way home he can, without me. I go through customs and buy a ticket back home. I get on the plane before Eli knows what's going on, "you can't come with me he'll track you down," he says worried.

"No he won't everyone who saw me didn't know which pack I came from and even he said that he didn't know which pack it was, annnnd  I only gave them a number to an untraceable phone," I say proud.

"If he finds you he's going to kill me," he says on edge.

"I'm not going to let that happen," I say confidently. He sighs knowing he's not going to win, and finds his seat. I find mine a couple rows back from him, damn a middle seat. I spend my ride with two guys hitting on me, one of them saying "hey how's it going?" and the other responding with "she doesn't want to speak to you, she wants to talk to a man like me," and a smirk clear, on his face. Each time one would get up to use the bathroom the other would hit on me even more than when they were both here. I sat there awkwardly through the whole ride not saying a word to them. At one point I put my earbuds in and they kept taking them out. Needless to say I was pissed by the time I got off the plane.

I meet Eli at baggage pick-up and he laughs as he sees my face. "I see you had a lovely plane ride," he says as he's trying to stifle his laugh. I glare at him and break out laughing.

We grab our bags and I feel a tap on my shoulder so I turn around and see the person that was on my right, "I never got your name pretty lady," a sweet smile on his face. I make random signs with my hands as if to say 'I'm a mute'. His eyes widen until a smirk dances onto his face, "I might be able to make you scream." I become angry and slap him, then walk away with Eli holding my hand.

Once we're far enough away we both laugh "he- he- looked so- so shocked," Eli says in between breaths. I take a deep breath as I see Leo waiting for Eli. Their eyes lock and I shove him forward. That's all it took for him to run to his mate. I smile as I watch the couple. Wishing that the moon goddess didn't hate me, I walk towards them.

Leo's eyes get wide when he sees me "you're back!" he hugs me. When he let's go he starts to ramble "I thought that you were the King's mate what are you doing here? Did he reject you? Did you reject him?" I shake my head "if none of that happened then what are you doing here? You should be with your mate, the one who's going to love you forever."

I cut him off "I left because he locked me in a room for three days with no contact with anyone but the people who brought me food and they never said anything," he makes and oh-I-get-it-now kind of face.

My mind link goes off "WHERE ARE YOU!? YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO COME BACK WITH THE DRIVER! WHEN I FIND YOU, YOU WILL BE IN HUGE TROUBLE," I cut off my mind link from him so he won't be able to find me.

"I think he knows I'm gone," I laugh. They both look scared, "don't worry he won't be able to find me," I say smiling.

Leo speaks up "you're his mate, he will do anything to find you," the worry in his voice is clear.

I look at Eli "I know you've always wanted to do my makeup. Now I need you to make me look like a completely different person."

"I can make you look like anyone but I can't change your scent," he mumbles.

"I can take care of that," I say as mask my scent as much as I can.
