Then, poof.
Abracadabra, alakazam.
The demolition of the garden comes to a sudden stop.
And I become aware that at some point I must've cowered all the way to the ground, as painfully evident by my clenched nether cheeks, a fistful of grass, and sore dirt covered knees.
Like a glue feign that's discovered a new toxin, I peel my face out from behind my arm and inhale the tantalizing musk once more.
The flowers... unscathed.
The greenery flourishes. The birds chirp a happy tune. A monarch butterfly lands on my head. A squirrel offers me an acorn.
All that's missing is Snow White and her seven dwarfs.
No... but I swear, just a moment ago...
Had it even happened at all?
Had the whole ordeal been one big hallucination?
My arms fall limply at my sides. I slump back on my heels. A sparrow high up in a tree feeds a defenseless worm to its young. I glide my fingertips down my numb, tingly face, tracing phantoms of the whipping winds.
Yes, yes it had been real.
So get yourself together, Lydia, what happened to your fairy? Um, your last chance at happiness?!
Rustling catches my attention, and I whip my head to the source, a small rabbit. It scurries along a person's feet.
A person.
Hold on...
a tall...
purple cloaked-
"Perhaps barring my original form can mend the gap between us." The person slowly pulls back their hood with their large manicured hands.
The angry clouds split apart and a heavenly light beams down from above them... from this being- my fairy- wait, no, this god this... this man?
Toned, slender frame. A glimmering complexion. Soft, icy hair that cascades their narrow shoulders like snow down the peaks of mountains. Smooth porcelain skin. Emerald orbs neatly smudged with coal.
No... way.
"Fairy... is it you? You- you're—!"
"A man I suppose, perhaps, yes," a small smile pulls at the corners of their pillowy, blushed lips, "but still your fairy." Their silvery, liquid voice conjures a thousand flutters in my heart as they come closer, with delicate steps as if they still float.
They outstretch a hand to me before drawing back, instead, cowering down to my level. After a sigh, they flash their angular jaw and scratch the back of their neck, their orbs cast to the shadows. "Though, I understand that this form is no less hideous than my previous one..."
Hideous...?!
"But, dear Lydia, let me into your heart. Allow me this once to hold your hand through these strenuous times." Their orbs plead with a thousand megawatt twinkle as they reach down and interlock my cold, slack hands with their warm strong
ones. "It's all I ask as your fairy godmother."
I blink.
"...okay."
What am I agreeing to?
Don't know.
What did they say?
Don't remember.
I barely remember how to breathe with the man of my dreams right in front of me.
Wait.
What kind of disgusting things am I thinking?
Brett is the man of my dreams, my perfect match.
An otherworldly ethereal being like this pretty fairy man can hardly be considered the same caliber as the very definition of masculinity, my dear Brett, right? Yes. This is unreal. Some sort of advanced wizardry.
The fairy helps me back to my wobbly feet then immediately pulls me into an embrace.
This is... too close. My chest pressed firmly against his. How the outlines of their muscles feel through the thin material of their cloak.
The rise and fall of each breath they take, swirling their aroma and my senses. If only I was a little taller, then I'd be able to meet their shoulder and rest my spinning head upon it, but being engulfed by them isn't bad either.
Ah, I did it again.
Brain.
Shut up.
Just think about how strange it is that theres a high possibility that they're wearing absolutely nothing else underneath this cloak.
Oh god. Now I'm imagining them naked.
Their perfect sculpted body...
I always knew you had a devilish side to you that wasn't me, Wolfinia smirks.
You shut up too, b*tch.
The fairy lets go and I avert his gaze, fiddling with my thumbs.
Calm yourself, Lydia. Take control of the situation. You have a wish to make goddamnit. Get inside that mansion...
Go on, say something. Don't just stand there like a blubbering fool.
Before I can will myself to form words, the fairy takes my hand, "Thank you, dearest, for allowing me to serve you," he closes his orbs and places a gentle kiss atop it.
Wow... his lashes are long and beautiful.
And his mouth...
On my flush skin.
I touch my parted lips.
Would they too feel tingly like the rest of me if his lips were to meet mine?
"My wish... is for..."
The fairy's orbs widen at my parched words,"Is to awaken your friend—?
"— Is for Brett to kiss me!" I point decidedly to my lips, "On the lips!"
Yes
Brett should kiss me because he's who I love. We're soulmates, literally. His lips Is whose I want to embrace with my own until my dying breath.
Yeah, I only just met this fairy. We're practically strangers.
The fairy strokes their chin. "... Your mate has not yet kissed you?"
"Well..." I consider lying to conceal my embarrassment and frustration, but instead furrow my brows and turn my heel.
I take the last few steps back to the entrance of the mansion from whence I came, with the fairy following closely behind, and turn the nob. "No... he hasn't."
"Oh... how unfortunate."
I look over my shoulder and find that their expression is genuinely glum. They hug themself and look away, their lips spread into a thin line. They aren't mocking me, then they must be pitying me.
I'd typically hate such blatant pity, but this sight is too good to possibly be turned off by it.
"What if his kiss is a disappointment?"
I choke whilst my orbs momentarily protrude from my skull, "Um, pardon?"
The fairy paces, then stops in front of a small golden wolf bust displayed beside the white couch.
He runs his finger along its beastly features, stopping at the tip of its snout. "What if he's insufficient in the art of kissing? Then you would have wasted your precious wish on but a sad, fleeting moment."
I scoff, "Impossible. Brett is..." A nauseating flashback plays in my mind of when Brett announced loudly in the school hall to his Chad that he just got through banging a random girl in a janitors closet. "...experienced."
"Hmm..." The fairy sighs, then turns to me, "would your kiss with the Alpha King God Beast perhaps be your first?"
I puff a windblown piece of hair out of my face and cross my arms. "Yeah, so what?"
They may have changed appearance, but this fairy's invasive nature is still the same.
The fairy hums, "Well dear, kissing for the first time can be awkward and uncomfortable. For this reason, I do not recommend you use your wish for this purpose."
"Hey, you don't know that! It could be great on my first go."
Deep down, I know they're right. No matter how many 'How to kiss' videos I've seen in preparation, it might not be enough for the Alpha King God Beast.
"Yes, your first kiss could be wonderful, all the more reason you should have it naturally, without the use of your wish."
I groan, "Ugh, I can't do that! He's the Alpha, he has to initiate the kiss first, and he may never do that!"
If only I had some kissing experience, then when I make my wish, my chances of having the perfect first kiss with Brett... maybe even impressing him...
"Wait a minute then... you."
"Yes?"
"You could be my first kiss."

A/N: I know, I know...
It may feel like not much happened this chapter, but believe it or not, this chapter has the most words out of any of the chapters thus far, so I had to cut it here
What can I say?
Describing magical transformations and how hot a fairy is in a million different ways quickly exceeds the word count
Next chapter though is titled "Wakey wakey", so, I'll leave you with that little hint 👀
