Chapter Eighteen:Halloween Gone Wrong

A/N: Happy Day-After-Halloween/Day of the Dead everyone! (I just made the "Day-After-Halloween" up. It is now officially a holiday.) I went trick-or-treating last night (I don't care how old I am! You get to dress up and get FREE CANDY). And got lots of candy! So, how was your guys' Halloween? (Or normal day...) Or how your Day of the Dead is going? (Day of the Dead is November first, right?) So, back to the story! (I am SO SO SO SO SO SOOOOOOOO sorry! This was meant to be uploaded on the already specified date.... But I kinda had a major case of author's block and completely forgot that I am also WRITING stories as well as reading them. So... And I got caught up with Mark and MLP... So... Yeah... And I was doodling pictures... ;-; Kitty sowwy....) [And I admit it. I re-discovered Netflix and was binge-watching Doctor Who. That "Listen" episode messed me up. So I literally stayed stationary on the couch, not moving, and stayed up 'till almost 1 in the morning, contemplating if my previous "closet monster" was all of those things messing with the door in that episode. Then I passed out until 11 am.]

Mark finally just sucked it up and went with the Dark costume. He was dead-set on not being a hot dog. I wasn't going to bother with putting the contacts in again, and the makeup was pretty good at being like a second skin layer. So Mark just stayed in the costume all day. I honestly had no idea I had it in me to be that good at applying makeup.

Then, about three hours into the day, Mark and I had the greatest idea ever. We were gonna go onto Omegle and pull off a double costume-thingamajigger. We would take two videos, one with both of us in it, and two separate ones with us doing our own thing.

Mark and I started up the first video. Mark did his intro and I did mine after his. After explaining a few things, we started up Omegle.

It was really fun. All of the screaming ones were half and half, it was either screeching from fear or shrieking in joy. I had gained close to one million subscribers, so a few knew who I was. It was awesome!

Then we started the individual videos and it was great! More screaming people, that's always nice.

Soon after all that was edited and uploaded, we went outside into the dark abyss of the night. (And here comes the amazingly terrifying part of Mark's and my adventure...) We were planning on taking the "Walk Through the Forest of Death" or some sort of cheesy name like that. I had my hood off as the hair spray got everywhere and my phone, flashlight, emergency candy bag, and fake kitchen knife all shoved in my pocket, so you can imagine how that looked. I was thinking I was gonna be the scariest thing in that forest, and I was definitely prepared to hide in some bushes and make some little kids cry. It sounds mean, I know, but I just get so much into the personality of the character I'm dressed up in. You should have seen me when I was dressed up as yet another Creepypasta one year. Can you guess? I was on stilts and picking up my little brother and his friends in one of my earlier Halloweens, sorta just standing in the nearby forests and staring at people too.

So anyhow, the forest was boring for the first bit, all little kid stuff, like little Halloween decorations that jump out in front of you. There were some OK stuff too, like a bunch of bowls of realistic body parts. There was this one kid and his mother that were in front of Mark and I, and he just kept looking back at me with his little face almost as white as vanilla ice cream. His mother would occasionally look back too, and each time I'd have my fake knife in my hand, acting as if I were examining it. It was pretty funny. Now, there was this one dude that was in a fork in the path, in front of a sign. He kept on saying "Only those who dare to leave the group may see the horrifying spectacle of what Halloween is really for. Do you believe you can handle it?"

Of course I did! Why would I not go? A chance to actually fall on my ass, screaming? Hell yeah! I dragged Mark along with me to the left path. He didn't seem worrisome or anything. Just sorta followed me. I was starting to get an idea, but I brushed it off. It'd be months before he could even think of showing up again.

I was hopping along, being giddy and upbeat and completely out of character, but I was excited! It was rare anything was actually scary these days, and this trail just gave the vibes of terror that sends a chill through your body and put your mind into immediate alert, heart pumping with so much oxygen even a very non-athletic person could run a mile in no time flat, eyes dilated and opened wide to catch any movement, trembling, shaky legs and arms on a constant basis so the tiniest of noises will send you off in a heart beat. It was invigorating!

In what felt like forever, Mark finally spoke. "Agh! These contacts are bugging the hell outta me! Can I take 'em out? Please?"

"No. I have a question, why aren't you scared? Is there nothing that's creeping you out even the tiniest bit?" I asked, shifting my gaze from tree to tree. The path was narrow, but the trees were thick and over powering in smell, much more different than the wide path covered in thin little trees everywhere.

"Well, we've been walking for nearly three minutes now and nothing is here except for trees, so there's not much to be scared of," Mark replied, rubbing his eyes.

"Do you not feel that feeling? The feeling of being scared? The feeling of being so terrified out of your mind you might just run into the nearest tree if you hear something?" I asked, a bit too quickly.

"Nope. Not at all," Mark said.

That's when I noticed it. Mark had stopped rubbing his eyes and had just shoved something into his pockets, as well as there were lines in the coating of white make up that were visible, but no tanish skin. As I was walking backwards, staring at Mark, some guy jumped at me and I punched him straight in the face, knocking him down with a crunch in his facial area.

"You bastard..." I snarled, stopping in my tracks.

"What? What do you mean?" "Mark" asked, almost like he was confused.

"I know who you are, asshole! So stop messing around and tell me how you took over Mark's body! You said that one week thing drained you!" I screeched.

"Okay, fine. You caught me. It's Dark," he paused for a moment. "And I just had to take the opportunity. Dressing Mark as me? Take the chance! Now yes, I am not to my full potential, so this is majorly temporary, but I wanted to get a good scare outta ya. You know? It's sorta like you and that woman. Just had to take the chance, you know."

"Ugh! It's 'you know' this and 'you know' that! Don't you ever get tired of that phrase?!"

"Don't you ever get tired of cursing every other line? 'Asshole' this, 'hell' that. It's really annoying."

"To a fucking demon that came out of the pits of hell just to ruin my life and has tried to kiss me on multiple occasions for God knows why. Kiss me with Mark's face. Who the hell do you think you are?!"

"See? Cursing! Over and over and over again! Just shut up, will you? Before you were so rude about my 'you know's, I was gonna say that Mark's gonna be back. I've only been here for a little bit. I'll be gone soon enough, but why don't we just continue on?" Dark stated.

"Stay the hell away from me. I'm gonna be waiting for Mark. Not something that looks like him," I speed walked away, flipping Dark the bird until I turned a corner.

~Dark's POV~

She was still so hostile toward me... I mean sure, that one time, but that was a while ago. Shouldn't she be over that by now? It's not like I tried to kill her.

Well, (Y/N) ran off, looking like one of those memes where the character is super pissed. I was just sort of walking along the trail and looking at things. Basically, how this chapter ends, is I had a really long All Hallow's Eve and was really a ginormous liar. I had energy. I could have taken over Mark's body for an entire month and gotten what I wanted in record time. We all know what happens on Halloween.

I was just waiting.

A/N: So, is the chapter okay? I'm really sorry for how late it is. It's almost December! (There WILL be a Christmas chapter [maybe a Thanksgiving chapter {not guaranteed}] released at least on Christmas Eve.) Also, I have a question for people with DeviantART accounts. I would have this question on my messages for followers, but nobody ever replies. NOBODY. The question is: Can I save a work-in-progress story like on Wattpad, can I delete any submissions, (ie literature, art), and is there any way to edit an already published submission? Please tell meh! (Also, if you wanna check out my 2 drawings and single ridiculously crappy story, my UN is wildpath12. Oh, can I change my UN too? SUPER NOOB at DeviantART. XD) Buh-bye!
