My maid's summer starts!

It was almost summer vacation. Izuku, Momo, and Kyoka were all thinking about its approach with different emotions of excitement. Izuku was nervously excited, Momo was happily excited, and Kyoka, she was sarcastically excited, obviously. Although, all three of them were thinking about a lunch they had, albeit they were all thinking of different parts of a conversation they had.

Kyoka had a bored stare as she tried to focus on the lecture at hand but kept drifting off. Lately, the three of them had been spending time together during lunch on the roof. Momo would have a bento prepared for Master while he would always go to the cafeteria to buy them lunch. And it was those times, when it was just her and Momo on the roof as they waited for him that she had become fond of. 'Although, Izuku has his moments too, I guess.' She quietly chuckled with a sag of her shoulders. 'But Yaomomo has hers too...'

Yaomomo and Kyoka were sitting on the roof bench as they waited for Izuku to come with their lunch as Momo had his prepared bento on her lap. They had their usual light-hearted conversation, with Kyoka noticing how much more at ease Momo was lately, giggling more earnestly. But the most noticeable change in her was that her eyes didn't have that tired heaviness anymore.

"So do you guys have anything planned for summer break?" Kyoka asked as her one of her ear jacks mimicked a question mark.

"Eh? That's right summer break is coming up isn't it?" Momo instantly recalled the conversation she had with Izuku the morning after the love hotel, 'He did mention the fireworks didn't he? It can be like those slice-of-life anime, Master and I watch together!' And the thought caused her Neko-ears to pop out like Komi-san!

"Oi, Yaomomo you shouldn't do that during school." Kyoka was trying to give her advice but also had a small blush because, 'Neko-momo is best girl.'

"Eeip! I told you I can't help it!" And like always, instead of simply taking them off, she just tried to hide them.

"Well that aside, it sounds like you guys got plans."

Momo regained some composure, dropping her hands aside as she let the Neko-ears rest on her head, yet talking like the dignified Yaoyorozu, "Actually, not really. We had mentioned going to the firework festival but nothing is set in stone. It's just after everything that's happened lately, Izuku and I haven't really had time to talk about those things."

"Right. Ever since he found out where you lived..." Jiro had some guilt in her voice because she was the one that told Izuku. 'And I had to ask that fucking stupid question.' She had a hard stare off before shaking it away and focusing on Momo again. "About that, I know it wasn't cool that I spilled the tea but,-"

Momo cut her off. "No, don't apologize for doing the right thing. In truth, I was just too scared to tell him, especially after the first time I snapped at him, I didn't want to unreasonably lash out at him again... It wasn't his fault they left... It wasn't..."

"Of course it wasn't..." Kyoka reassured her, knowing how conflicting it was for her.

"But that being said, I'm truly grateful you told him, Kyoka. You gave me the push I needed!" And Momo gave her a toothy grin of genuine appreciation.

"Nah, don't mention it, really." Because she was too cute and Kyoka was losing her cool, she rubbed the back of her neck, before turning her attention back to Momo. "But I still feel bad about it so I got you something."

Momo's Neko-ears twitched with curiosity at the mention of a gift. "Really? You didn't have to."

"Don't trip, I was saving it for a rainy day but I figure this is better. Here." Kyoka pulled it out of her backpack and handed it to Momo.

And her eyes grew like a Neko about to play with a ball of yarn. "Is that?!... Kyoka how did you get your hands on this!"

"I punked that Mineta after I found out he had it." Jiro started to laugh, remembering how she got it. 'Ah, I was planning to use it against Izuku but this is way better, he's gonna flip.'

In Momo's hands was a picture of Izuku as a toddler in his All-might onesie playing with an All-might toy. 'IZUKU'S BABY PICTURE!'

And just before she could celebrate, Izuku had opened the door to the roof and shown up with their lunches.

Izuku was paying attention in class but his thoughts kept drifting to the conversations he had with Kyoka. The one during the rain, and the other during lunch at the rooftop. After Izuku had brought them lunch, Momo had his baby picture while also excusing herself, saying she forgot something in the classroom, and that she needed to go get it, so she could put away Izuku's picture for safekeeping.

And as she was doing that, it left Izuku and Kyoka alone together. 'Why is it that every time we're alone it gets weird? It's like we're just friends out of convenience for Momo, but we always have fun when it's the three of us, and during those moments Kyoka and I feel like real friends but when it's just us two...' He didn't know how to explain it to himself, he wanted to be Kyoka's real friend but it felt like Momo was the glue that held the trio of friendship together. 'And then when she asked me that... What was I supposed to say?' Izuku didn't want to think about it so instead tried to lead his thoughts toward Momo but that only caused him to think about what Jiro said about Momo during lunch.

Izuku and Kyoka were sitting on opposite sides of the bench as Momo would usually sit in the middle, but alas, she had excused herself to stash the picture. It was quiet and they didn't really talk much, she was on her phone, keeping her eyes on the screen as she casually spoke to break the silence.

"So I guess Yaomomo is cool with the fact that I told you where she lives."

"She is? That's good, I'm really sorry that I roped you in, it's just after I found out she wasn't home, I had to know that she was okay."

"Nah, I get it dude, that's one of the reasons I finally caved and told you. I felt like you had a right to know, you know. I just also didn't want to betray Momo like that, it was a tough call but whatever. It worked out, right?"

He nodded with a small but grateful smile. "Yeah, it did. Momo and I finally talked and now it feels like things are out in the open, and there's nothing holding us back now."

Jiro kept her eyes on her phone, as if trying to be casual with him yet also distancing herself. "I still think it's stupid that her parents bailed on her, like what the fuck dude? Especially after what they said about you."

"...About me?"

Kyoka stiffened and finally turned her head to him, locking eyes. "Wait? She didn't tell you? I thought she told you everything?"

"She just said that her parents left because of the war... W-Wait did her parents leave because of me?"

"Fuck!..." Kyoka groaned becoming annoyed at herself. "This is the second time I do this. Look, Izuku promise me you won't bring this up with her."

"What but if it's about me-,"

"I know it's fucked up to ask but I already betrayed Momo's trust once by telling you where she lives."

"N-No, your right Kyoka, I still owe a lot." But there was an obvious conflict in his voice. "I won't bring it up to Momo because it was hard enough for her to tell me about anything at all but it's still frustrating you know?" Izuku was used to saving someone at a moment's notice, how was he supposed to be okay with just being by his girlfriend's side as she struggled to rebuild her life from scratch?

"I know, dude, I know...."

Izuku didn't know what Momo's parents had said about him but he could assume. 'I also shouldn't bring this up to Momo so soon after things have started to settle down after everything. I should just forget about it, I mean Momo wants to distance herself from her parents but is it really okay to leave things like this..?'

As Izuku was mulling over his dilemma, Momo was staring out the window, having a daydream of summer vacation.

'I can't wait to see the fireworks with Master!'
