My maid missed me..?

Hello, just leaving this author's note to say I'm just gonna leave the fanart as its own chapter, as it makes a good transition for Kyoka's introduction. Also I know there's some polarizing opinions with some people wanting this to be an Izumomojiro and others want this to stay as an izumomo only fic and all I ask is that you guys trust in my writing, as I'm pretty sure I have the best path planned out. But if u are that concerned about the direction of this fic feel free to msg me and I'll explain how I plan to write it. Anyways enjoy the chapter and sorry for the authors note, as I prefer to let my story speak for itself but this time I feel it was warranted.
Till next time!

Izuku Midoriya let out a tired and sleepy groan, he had just finished his night patrol and was glad to finally be home, opening the door. It was strange, the day felt so long without Momo, yet also short. It was like an empty blur and he was just going through the motions of his daily life. It was different with Momo. Being with her, the days felt everlasting yet would disappear to the moments they lost themselves to...

"I didn't get to spend any time with Momo, but Jiro, ugh that Jiro..." He shook his head with a heaviness weighing on his shoulders as he recalled what happened earlier that afternoon. 'I'm supposed to be Momo's boyfriend, so why don't I even-...'

Izuku had wide eyes like an idiot as he could only stare back at the glaring neko-maid. "I... Um... You see... Me and Momo-,"

"When did you get on a first-name basis with her?!"

"Hiee! Y-Yesterday? I think. It's actually been getting really hard to keep track of time lately. I mean ever since my mom went overseas, I've just been so busy trying to do everything around, you know heroing, school studying, and then I try to do the house chores but sometimes I get notified about a crime happening nearby, and I just drop what I'm doing, to go-,"

"For fuck's sake Midoriya stop your annoying rambling!" She thrusted her arms down in frustration with her ear-jacks copying the mannerisms. "Look, just take a breath and try to form a coherent sentence."

Izuku had his lips pouted to the side for a moment. 'Momo thinks it's cute when I ramble.'

But then Izuku did as Kyoka instructed taking a breath to think about what he was going to say, "I really needed help around the place and when I ordered a maid, Momo was the one who showed up, and she's kinda been my maid ever since."

A light bulb of relief popped up above Jiro's neko ears. "So you're the personal client she mentioned. Thank God, I thought it was some old pent-up geezer." But her moment of relief left just as quickly as it came, "But it actually turned out to be some hormonal high-school student! Ah, that might be worse!"

"Oi, you're insulting me behind my back, while I'm standing right here."

"Whatever, not like I care. Besides, why should I, when you planned this out with those pervs."

"H-Hey! Like I explained I was roped into this. Mineta blackmailed me."

Jiro crossed her arms with a scoff and disbelieving eyes. "What could he have against someone as strong as you?"

"... My baby picture."

She actually felt bad for him. "Ouch, okay fair enough."  Jiro figured that Midoriya was innocent enough but she didn't want him taking advantage of Yaomomo's giving nature. "Look dude, just try to stop bothering her with your problems. She hates being a maid enough as it is."

"She hates being a maid? But then why is she always smiling..?"

And Kyoka was surprised by the genuine shock in his eyes and voice. The reason it confused her was because Momo would always have a frown, saying that she hated being a neko-maid because of the obedience that was expected of her...

"She was smiling?" But then Kyoka shook her own question away. "Of course, she was smiling, it's her job. Do you even know why she took this stupid job?!" At this point, she had stomped up to him and was poking his chest with one of her ear-jacks.

Izuku bit his lip as he took a step back. "N-No, I don't." He grew a remorseful wince in his eyes, 'The last time I brought it up, she completely snapped at me...' And ever since then his concern for the reason had dwindled because of how infatuated they had become with each other, distracted by their growing relationship. Izuku was growing a pit of guilt in his stomach, 'How could I be so insensitive? I knew something was wrong but instead I just wanted to selfishly spend time with her and let myself get swept up in everything going on between us. How can I even call myself a hero?'

"Yaomomo has more problems to deal with than taking care of you. Heck, the only reason I took this job was for her sake."

"Um, what... what is going on with Momo?"

"Look dude, if she didn't tell you, then I have no right to put her personal business out there. Besides, even if she does tell you, this isn't something a hero can solve. You can't punch her problems away, no matter how strong you are, Midoriya."

"Even if I can't, I want to, n-no, I have to be there for her. If you don't want to tell me what Momo is dealing with, I have to understand that, but then you have to understand as well, Jiro... Momo is important to me, regardless if she's my maid or not." The only reason Izuku didn't mention that she was his girlfriend was because Jiro had a point, it wasn't his business to tell Momo's best friend that he was dating her, 'I mean, we barely became boyfriend and girlfriend this morning, I can't drop a bombshell like this without Momo's consent.'

They were matching a stare. His eyes were soft, concerned for Momo and her eyes were hard, also concerned for Yaomomo. Koyka eventually caved in because, just like the rest of their classmates, she knew how far Midoriya was willing to go to save someone.

And maybe Kyoka wanted Izuku to save Momo...

Jiro shook her head, turning away from Midoriya, dropping the subject about Yaoyorozu.

"Do whatever you want, I'm out of here dude,"

"Eh? But Jiro, I hired you..."

"Kyaa!" And Kyoka let out a noise of surprise, similar to Izuku's 'Hiee!' and Momo's 'Eeip!' She turned on the balls of her feet, facing Midoriya again. "W-Wait, you're serious?"

Izuku scratched his cheek, looking to the side as he said, "I could really use the help, I wouldn't want Momo to find out what happened to this place after how much she's done."

Jiro had an annoyed expression, about to tell him off until she noticed his face, or rather his eyes. They were the same tired eyes that Momo always tried to hide. She sagged her shoulders with a sigh of defeat. "Fine, for Yaomomo."

"Thanks Jiro, I'll make it up to you, promise." Giving her his sunshine smile, lightening up the atmosphere, getting rid of all the awkward tension from before.

"You can start off by swearing never to tell either of those two pervs about this."

"Promise."

Izuku chuckled and it caused her lips to pull up as she grew a small smirk with a roll of her eyes.

"Midoriya, you're such a dummy."

Izuku Midoriya had been reflecting on Jiro's words for the rest of the day, even through his night patrol, up to having reached his home. "Jiro even said she'd be willing to take Momo's shift from time to time. I mean if it's to help Momo get her rest, it should be fine. Although, what's the problem weighing on Momo?" But he also didn't want to add any unwarranted stress on Momo, thinking of how she reacted the last time he brought it up. "But that was before I became her boyfriend, she should be able to trust me enough to tell me what's going on right?" Although, a part of him was still unsure, and he recalled what Jiro said about a hero not being able to help Momo. He couldn't just barge himself into this situation and punch the problem like he always did... "Ugh, whatever, I'll just start by telling her about Jiro."

As he rambled to himself, he had walked into the living room, and his eyes widened.

"Eh?"

Momo Yaoyorozu was asleep on his couch.

Her hair was down and she was in casual clothes. Similar to his word T-shirts, she was in a different colored turtleneck sweater, this one being green, while also wearing black leggings. Her schoolbag along with a clean school uniform were set aside.

And she had an adorably faint snore. It looked like she had passed out, waiting for him.

He was so tired he hadn't realized that the lights and TV had been on since he walked inside, that was until he spotted her. He could assume that she missed him as much as he missed her. But what was she doing here?

He shook his head, deciding to ask her in the morning. Carefully, he walked to where she was sleeping. He gently picked her up, securing one arm under her legs and wrapping the other around her upper back, neck, and shoulders. He was carrying her bridal style, intending to lay her down on his bed.

Her eyes struggled, but fluttered open, even if it was only a little bit, staring off. She could feel his warm arms keeping her safe and as comfortable as he could. Her own hand weakly placed itself over his chest before grabbing at the fabric of his shirt, clutching at it, as if to make sure he was really there. After confirming it, she let out that beloved sigh, her words coming out as sleepy breaths as she snuggled into his embrace, before she closed her eyes again,

"Welcome home... Master."
