*33* TinnGun or GeminiFourth?
Weeks went by and they still hadn't gotten any positive news from P'Zee. P'Zee, when asked about NuNew one evening, replied:
“We don't know where he is, but we have clear tracks, it won't be long.”
Fourth just shrugged then. He felt discouraged. Pretending to be Gun, who also loved to sing, was exhausting, and if you added the fact that they had to be extremely careful...
Gemini saw his expression, abandoned his homework on Tinn's behalf, and walked over to Fourth, who was standing by the window, to wrap his arms around his waist and hug him from behind. Fourth covered Gemini's joined hands with his hands and for a few minutes they just stood in silence, looking at the view outside the window. They were at Tinn's house. A few minutes earlier, Tinn's mom had made sure the boys had plenty of energy to study and had brought them a large plate of sandwiches.
“Don't forget to rest, boys.” She smiled warmly and motherly at them. She knew their history perfectly well, P'Zee had told her every detail, including the fact that Gemini had searched for Fourth for many years before finding him, not even knowing the boy's name or what school he went to. She thought it was romantic and beautiful and she loved happy endings.
“We won't forget, Mom.” Gemini had already gotten into the habit of calling her mom, even though she wasn't his real mother. She was Tinn's mother, but since Tinn was away, she promised herself to take care of the boys in the meantime and not let anything bad happen to them. That was her job too, and she was responsible not only to P'Zee, but also to P'Bright, the head of the Shadowhunter institute on Gaia II. Gemini liked her, she was very much like his mother.
“Learning is important, but if you don't take breaks and rest, you won't remember anything tomorrow.”
“We know, don't worry, Mom. We only have physics homework left, we'll finish it quickly” Gemini assured her, then suggestively but gently signaled her that she should leave and give them some privacy. No sooner had the woman crossed the threshold than P'Zee contacted them.
“Good evening, boys.”
“Good evening, P'Zee.” They greeted him politely, clasping their hands together as if in prayer and bowing slightly.
“Are you bringing us good news?”
Zee didn't answer Gemini's question, and Fourth could see from his expression that something must have happened to shake up the usually emotionless P'Zee, but the man gave them literally nothing. Instead, for a good twenty minutes, he questioned them about everything, told them to report on the week's events, asked them to describe the behavior of their colleagues, and asked if they thought anything looked suspicious.
“Not particularly, P'Zee. We had a problem with one of the teachers but my mum took care of it, this man won't hurt anyone with his stupid views anymore” Gemini used to call Tinn's mum his mum. Fourth thought that if this continued, they would be stuck here forever, with no way back to their universe and their loved ones, whom they both missed terribly.
“A problem with the teacher? What was that?” P'Zee showed an immediate interest.
“Let's just say he was making some very rude lines about Gun because of me,” explained Fourth, who felt so angry at the mere mention that if Gemini hadn't been standing next to him, he probably would have punched the wall with his fist, but Gemini chose that moment to walk over to the still sitting next to his desk Fourth and stand next to his chair to better see and hear P'Zee. Both boys brought watch-like devices with them to Gaia II, which they used to make contact with P'Zee. Even Gemini, who was a diligent student, had no idea how they worked and marveled at himself that he was able to think about something so seemingly trivial and unimportant.
“But you didn't get caught?” Although it wasn't audible in their boss's voice, they both knew that the prospect deeply unsettled P'Zee. Fourth felt insulted.
“Boss, why doesn't the boss trust us? I think we were well trained, Gun Atthaphan took care of our acting skills, and while we may be newbies among the Knights of Light who don't know much yet, let me remind you that we were trained by your best people and we aren't stupid and irresponsible kids who are unmasked”.
At this point, Gemini slapped Fourth on the back of the head for telling lies. It's not true that they haven't been exposed. The real friends of Gun along with the true Tinn's greatest enemy easily discovered their secret. Gem feared that others might notice as well, but fortunately their friends agreed to help them, and in return P'Bright reluctantly accepted them as students at his Shadowhunter University on Gaia II.
P'Zee wasn't fooled.
“Gun's friends exposed you,” he reminded them sternly. “You can't be so carefree, you have to be more careful. Next time...”
But they didn't get the chance to know what to do next time. In the background, they heard a familiar voice that belonged to Dunk, Gemini's eldest brother.
“Boss, please, let's give them some slack, they're still kids after all. Why put so much pressure on them? I'm sure they're doing great.”
“P'Zee...” Fourth began in a slightly hesitant voice.
“Yes, nong Fourth?”
“Could I talk to First for a moment?”
“I'm sorry, but that's not possible at the moment. Nong First went with Nong Khaotung to a Formula 1 race.”
Fourth disliked Zee for that, for his coldness, for his lack of empathy and understanding. Did P'Zee really not understand how much Fourth missed his brother? How much did he want to hear his voice, even for a minute? He was worried about him. He knew that Khaotung would take care of his brother, but then Khaotung had other responsibilities, he was a Formula 1 driver, he had to train, race, talk to journalists, give interviews, appear on various TV shows, take part in the most bizarre challenges... Fourth was afraid that in all the commotion, Khao might not find much time for First, which would make him feel pushed back again, sidelined, unnecessary.
Fourth became more and more worried, more and more like First. Like his older brother, he often spent long hours alone in his room without even turning on the light and thinking about everything. He felt better only in the presence of Gemini, as if he was his shield against every sadness, but more and more often he was overcome by doubt. Months passed and they were still here, still nothing had changed.
That evening, Fourth felt better because of Gemini.
Gemini turned him around to face him and looked into his eyes.
“Fifi? What's going on?” He asked.
“Nothing. It's okay.” Fourth tried to convince him, but he didn't even wanted to look at him. His head was bent low, his eyes were wandering somewhere on the floor, and the muscles of his whole body were so tense that Gemini could clearly feel it.
“Fifi, darling, please don't be sad. I'm sure someone will pick us up soon and take us home.”
“Home? And what exactly is this home?” Fourth asked melancholy.
Gemini's heart was squeezed with grief and despair at the sight. He began to seriously consider whether or not they should decide for themselves to return to their home universe, but quickly came to the conclusion that it would be foolish and irresponsible to risk it that way. He had to find another way to comfort Fourth.
And he found.
“You know what, Fourth? End of study for today. Go take a shower, I'll get you something to change in a minute, and I'll go after that. And don't worry because I'm right next to you and I'm not going anywhere. When you come back from the shower, I'll be waiting here at my desk, just like I've been waiting for you for over three years.”
“You're very patient, aren't you?” Fourth finally looked him in the eye and surprisingly a shy but sincere smile appeared on his face. For Gemini, it was a good sign.
“And stubborn. If I want something, I never give it up easily, you should know that by now.”
“I know. And I think you should be rewarded for your patience.” Fourth brought his mouth very close to Gemini's ear, tickling him with his breath. He spoke softly in a changed, strangely hard voice. A thrill of pleasure ran through Norawit's body, which made him turn his face slightly to the side and his mouth landed on Nattawat's cheek.
“R-rewared?” Gem stammered, suddenly blushing furiously at the not-so-polite visions his imagination was giving him. Gemini was also different from Tinn, who was a real innocent in this matter. Gemini was his opposite, in addition, he had loved Fourth for so long, was madly in love with him, and his other needs, which he had not wanted to think about before, were also starting to come to the fore. He pushed it away, waiting for both of them to be ready for it, not wanting to rush or force anything, knowing that if it was going to happen, the right moment would come by itself. But was it supposed to happen today?
So far, Fourth hadn't let him kiss him once. Had he changed his mind?
Fourth noticed that Gemini had lost his mind and patted his cheek.
“You're having dirty thoughts again, aren't you?” He smiled cheekily.
“N-no... It... it isn't it?” Gemini only glanced quickly at Fourth's face, but immediately looked elsewhere.
“About that, you don't have to be so shy. It's me, your Fourth, with me you can be as naughty as you want, okie?” Fourth said, grabbing Gemini by the jaw, pulling him to himself and placing kisses on both cheeks. “This is a little taster of what's to come.”
And then, equally embarrassed, he fled to the bathroom to take a quick shower.
Gem stood there like a pillar of salt, stunned by what his boyfriend had done.
Fourth returned from the bathroom a moment later. Gem looked at him questioningly.
“Clothes. You didn't give me anything to wear,” Fourth explained a bit nervously. Gem walked over to the wardrobe, opened it wide and looked at his large collection of clothes. For Fourth, he chose a white t-shirt with navy blue stripes and matching dark pants, the exact color of which he couldn't tell. Fourth snatched it from his hands and dashed back to the bathroom. Gemini laughed.
“This Fourth, he's so damn cute.”
He said to himself.
He turned to see that the Scientific American newspaper he had read was on the bed almost in the middle, next to it was the notebook in which he had been taking notes that he thought might be useful to him in their universe as well, and the rainbow pencil case which he bought himself simply because it looked cute and shimmered with colors when the light shone on it. It wasn't expensive, and it reminded him of that day when Fourth had taken him on a date, first to the Aquarium, and then they'd just walked everywhere once they had gotten rid of Yo's company.
Yo was Gun's classmate and music club friend, and they were helping him undo a little mess Yo had made by using Tinn's picture as his on an internet dating site. Gem remembers that day fondly because it was their first date not only as Gun and Tinn, but also as Gemini and Fourth, and Gem was glad to just be himself. Fourth let him do everything and Gem often accosted him, just to get his attention, only to blush charmingly a moment later.
With Yo gone that day, Gem and Fourth were finally able to shed their masks and roles and be fully themselves. Gem once again proved to Fourth that if he wants something, he can achieve it, and in this case it turned out that this shy, charming, handsome boy with an innocent face of an angel can also flirt.
And now Fourth was in his house and in his room...
In Tinn's room, actually, but Gemini wasn't going to care.
“I'll clean up after us myself if we mess up, Tinn doesn't need to know what's been going on here,” he thought as he set the newspaper down in a pile of other science and pseudoscience magazines right next to the bookshelf. Those newspapers were only his, Gemini's collection, Tinn didn't collect things like this, he wasn't such a science lover, even though he was doing great in school and getting the best grades.
He smoothed the sheets, prepared clothes for himself to change into, finished his physics homework, and only then did Fourth get out of the shower. Gemini hid the notebook with the task in his backpack, went to one of the many cupboards and took out a hair dryer, which he immediately plugged into the power supply.
“Come on, you need to dry your hair, otherwise you'll get sick” He said in such a calm voice, as if he hadn't fantasized about undressing his boyfriend from these completely unnecessary clothes in his opinion moments ago.
“Okay.” Fourth obediently sat down in the chair Gem had placed in front of the mirror right next to his room's front door. Fourth thought Gemini looked wonderful when he was so focused on doing something, and right now he was busy drying his boyfriend's hair.
His boyfriend.
Fourth repeated the words several times in his mind and still couldn't believe it was really happening. He felt completely different than with NuNew.
“My boyfriend, Gemini Norawit is my boyfriend!” He thought and these words pleased him immensely. He felt gratitude to fate for having put Gemini in his path. “Even if I had to die for you, I will do it and I will do it with pleasure, because I know that I have had the biggest luck I could only dream of. Thank you, Gemi, for being you, for illuminating my path and showing me the right direction. Thanks to you, I know that I won't get lost.”
And Gem heard these thoughts and felt like dancing and singing for joy. Even when they were far from his family home, Fourth became his home, his heart, his comforter and his weakness. He loved him and never shied away from showing it. Their hands always found each other, their ears open to what the other had to say.
* * *
Some time later, when the two of them were lying next to each other in Tinn's bed, Gem tried to kiss Fourth, but Fourth covered his mouth with his hand, causing Gem to kiss his hand.
“You're cheating,” Gem said clearly offended.
“Then try again.” Fourth was just as excited as Gemini, and Gem knew it because he had very free access to his boyfriend's thoughts at the moment, which only fueled his own excitement. He moved closer, and this time Fourth didn't run away, didn't cover his lips, didn't make excuses, and Gem knew why: they both wanted it just as badly. Their hearts were beating fast and loud as if they wanted to burst out of their chests and run to meet each other.
Gem connected their lips in a deep but still shy kiss. He felt light and happy. As if his body stopped weighing anything and floated a few meters above the ground. He closed his eyes. Only one thing mattered: the two of them together in one room, on one bed, Fourth covering Gem's hand with his hand, both of them resting on their elbows on the pillows and a quiet, gentle, beautiful melody played by their souls and bodies joined in a short, but carrying a huge emotional charge of a kiss.
More.
Gem felt he wanted more, and he knew Fourth wanted it too. As they pulled apart, they continued to stare into each other's eyes, and Gem became unexpectedly shy again. He pressed his face into the pillow next to Fourth's head to hide his flushed cheeks. But Fourth knew him.
“I love you,” he said softly, smiling widely. Gem lifted his head, looked him in the eye, and answered.
“I love you too.” He pecked Fourth on the cheek.
“You know? I'm wondering about one thing. What do you think? Is it TinnGun or GunTinn?”
Fourth's pugnacious question awakened a small, horned devil in Gemini, who gave him an equally provocative answer.
“I don't know anything about TinnGun or GunTinn, but what I do know is that it's GeminiFourth for sure.”
“Are you sure about that? And I think it's FourthGem.”
“GemFourth” Gem insisted and flipped Fourth onto his back to connect their lips in another, this time more daring kiss.
The two quickly learned that in this case, Gem would always give in to Fourth and let him dominate. And Fourth seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He took off Gemini's yellow sweatshirt he was going to sleep in and let Gem a little clumsily and hesitantly help him get rid of his navy blue striped white shirt that belonged to Tinn.
Fourth, using the stele, drew a rune on his hand, which was supposed to make no sound escape from this room, and then threw the stele on the floor next to Tinn's sweatshirt, which Gemini had been wearing a moment earlier. Knowing that Gem was still a bit shy, he dimmed the lights, leaving only one bedside lamp glowing with a faint yellow warm light, and went back to kissing Gemini again.
