Maddie pulled on her black hoodie. She checked to make sure the girl next to her was still asleep, but she couldn't see the others. She crept into the hall. As she slowly made her way down the staircase she head voice. Uh oh.

"Maddie?" Lily asked. Maddie froze, "Lily. I was just... Wait. Why are you doing down here?"

"Um... I asked you first!"

Maddie made her way down the stairs. She say down beside Lily on the loveseat. "This is ridiculous. I mean, were best friends. Can't we just tell each other what's going on?" Lily nodded, "Okay, I'll go first. I, uh... I was drawing." Lily took away an olive throw pillow to reveal a sketchbook and some colored pencils. She handed the drawing to Maddie. It was vibrant and beyond the artistic talent she expected from Lily. "Gosh, Lily. This is..." she examined the colorful drawing of the potions classroom, "I'm speechless. It's just great." She titled her head, "Why, exactly, is you talent a secret?" Lily shrugged, "We don't take art, so I just... didn't say anything. Hey, what are you doing here?"

Maddie fidgeted. "Okay, I'm doing something, but I can't tell you why." She thought for a second, one day she hoped to come clean with Lily. "Yet."

"Go on."

Maddie grinned, "I'm sneaking into the Slytherin common room. I need to grab my sister's bag. You know the brown one I'm talking about?" Lily nodded. "But you can't tell me why?" Lily asked. "No," Maddie sighed. "I wish I could."

Just then, they heard a door open. "Hugo?" Lily and Maddie asked in unison, then smiled at each other. "What are you guys doing?" He sleepily trudged down the staircase. "Um, we're going somewhere." Maddie told him. "We?" Lily raised her eyebrows.

"Yep. All three of us."
