"I should have known." Madame Pomfrey shook her veiled head. "Those Chan boys... always up to something."

Hugo sighed, "Am I out of flying?" Madame Pomfrey almost laughed, "Definitely. You can keep Maddie company. Maybe come back this time Sunday and we'll see if you can start again with Maddie?" Hugo nodded.

"You can go. Take it easy."

The kids thanked Madame Pomfrey, and made their way down the hall.

Just about halfway down the corridor, Maddie spotted a red head with gleaming braces. Roxanne.

Maddie ducked her head, but soon remembered her one-of-a-kind scarlet highlights.

"Maddie Chan? Can we talk real quick?" Roxanne said in the sweetest of voices. "Who's she?" Lily whispered. Maddie rolled her eyes, "Some really annoying girl I met in the library."

"Roxanne, okay."

Roxanne led her to a courtyard. "Lumos," she made a point of emphasizing the spell. The tip of her wand illuminated a few feet before the two. "You wanna try?" She said with a smug grin. One that really bothered Maddie. "My wand's in the common room. How about... you, me, here? Same time tomorrow?" She raised her eyebrows and plastered an equally smug expression on her cheeks.

Roxanne snorted, "Oh, how convenient. You forgot your wand, Chan?"

Maddie nodded. "Yep."

The Hufflepuff gave Maddie a look with an empathy level of 0. "If you don't show up tomorrow..." She waved her wand in front of her face, "Well, you know."

She stormed off. Maddie had never seen a Hufflepuff act like that. And why, exactly, was this girl so out to bust her?

Wait, Maddie thought back to breakfast. Lena forgot to sneak Roxanne the potion. Didn't she... yes, she did... she put the flask in her little purse. That purse is with Lena. Lena's in the Slytherin common room. That means I have to sneak in there. Tonight.
