Chapter Twenty-Nine

Harry and the kids sat quietly in the headmaster's office, waiting for Rose, Albus, and James. Maddie was squished in between Lily, and, awkwardly enough, Hugo. Nothing was wrong with Lily's legs touching hers, or her elbows inches from Maddie's, but when it was Hugo...

Lena was crammed on the small bench next to Lily (Harry had chosen to stand), but was looking away. Minerva returned with Rose by her side, and James and Albus only trailed by a few feet. "Dad?" James exclaimed. Albus dashed across the room to give him a hug.

"What's going on?"James demanded of his father. "Something's wrong." His father shook his head, "No, no. Nothing like that, son. Just... well..." Harry glanced around the room. He turned to Maddie. "Are you Maddie? My daughter and nephew have said so much about you." Maddie blushed, "Well, yes." He smiled, "Then that makes you Lena, right?" Lena nodded. "So. The reason I'm here is to warn you. Voldemort, I assume you know his and my story?" Lena and Maddie nodded, but the Potter and Weasley kids didn't have to. "Okay," Harry continued, "Well he's not coming back, that's for sure. But, uh, that doesn't mean somebody else can't. You know that thing that attached you in the forest? He's one of the new villain's followers. I must go into hiding, as well as my kids, the Weasly family, and seeing that Maddie is so close to both Lily and Hugo, you'll be most likely targeted. And Maddie, they'll also go after anybody close to you. Obviously that's your sister. Anybody else?"

The kids just sat there in awe. Lena wanted to cry. Lily wanted to scream. Maddie wanted to forget she knew anything. Rose wanted to go hug her mum. Hugo also wanted to scream. Albus wanted to stay at Hogwarts. And James wanted to fight the villain. Harry wanted to keep his family safe. But what they all wanted and what was going to happen...? They didn't know.

"Dad?!" Lily exclaimed with an exasperated breath. "Oh, my bad. I just laid that all on you and I should have stopped, and..." He wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Sorry."

"His name is Marvelo." Harry started. "Marvelo? Like Tom Riddle?" James asked. His dad nodded. "Yes. Voldemort had, uh, a son. He kept him hidden. The mother is unknown, but... he hates my guts."

Rosie stepped forward, "Uncle Harry... why do all these people have to go in hiding?!" He sighed, "We've been tracking his movement. He goes after whoever he can trace back to who he's out for."

Lily turned to Maddie and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Maddie smiled and returned the gesture. "I'm glad your here, helping me. I couldn't get through this without you." Lily said. "Same here." Maddie replied.

"Anybody close to you, Maddie?" Harry interrupted. "Oh, right. Uh... Claire. We're really good friends." Harry turned to Minerva, "Could you go get...?" The headmistress nodded and slipped out of the room.

"Wait... so I actually have to leave Hogwarts?!" Lena shrieked. Harry looked taken aback, "If you wish to be safe." She sighed and nodded.

"When do we leave?" Albus managed.

Harry stuck his hands in his pocket and exhaled. "Maybe... tomorrow?"

Tomorrow.
