Chapter 9||Sodium Chloride

As Luca pulled up to Victoria's house, I tried to pull down my plaid skirt but my hand had got rudely smacked away.

"You look hot, stop." Puffing a big breath through my mouth, I felt strange running my hands through my hair without them getting stuck in my curls.

He had woken me up at 5:00, well 5:30 after all my protesting and fighting. I think I had actually kicked him in his chest.

He had paid Harry to wake up at that time also, she said she wouldn't get out of bed for less that $100. They were one of the wealthiest people I know, so he had no problem wasting $100.

She had blown dry my hair, and gave me a set of clothes and shoes to wear. I wasn't going to lie, I did like how she had done my makeup.

"Yeah yeah whatever." Clambering out of his Audi, I nearly tripped up the curb because of these shoes. Who wears heels to school anyway?

Knocking on Victoria's door, she swung it open with a piece of toast still in her mouth. Well I say that, as soon as she had took in my appearance - that toast had hit the floor quicker than a teenage girls panties after she hears Zac Efron was in town.

"Woah, you're really serious about this A." She ran her thumb under the strap of her satchel that sat comfortably on her shoulder, after shutting her front door behind her.

"More serious than I've ever been." Linking my arm with her casually, I made sure to get a good grip so that when she saw Luca's car she didn't turn into usain bolt.

"You know I'm surprised that- oh hell no." Seeing Luca parked in front of her drive way twiddling his thumbs, he froze what he was doing and slowly looked up towards us.

Oh here we go.

She tried to escape from my hold as I continued to struggle to drag her to the car.

"Don't.you.dare." She said through clenched teeth. "I don't want to be involved in your conniving plan for world domination" Kicking and screaming, I grunted as she elbows had kept digging into me.

"You're gonna have to meet eventually." I snapped.

Opening up the car door, I pushed her in and made sure to slip in and grab her before she could make a run for it through the other door. Luca had started the car and was off within seconds.

"Can I ask why you keep running away from me?" Luca sounded anything but annoyed.

Fidgeting in her seat, she started to twirl at the ends of her 2 plaits whilst her eyes glared out of the window.

Snapping a look at the both of us, her hands were now gripping on the back of the drivers seat.

"Because I know for a fact that this whole weird plan thing you-" her finger sharply pointed in my direction. "-thought of is going to blow up in both of your faces." Luca slowly pulled up to the car park and picked a spot which had no cars surrounding his.

Turning his body around so he was facing the both of us, amusement danced on his lips as he continued to stare at Victoria.

"That still doesn't explain why you run screaming in the opposite direction once I'm in close proximity." Switching my attention back on Victoria, I was beginning to feel like I was watching a tennis match.

Unbuckling herself, she narrowed her eyes at him as he pressed a button to lock all the doors.

"So I get scared when a relatively hot guy-"

"I'd say he's decent looking, let's not go that far Tori." I scoffed. Both shooting a glare at me, I scratched at the back of my neck whilst sinking down in my seat.

"So I get scared when a relatively hot guy converses with me, sue me." Rolling my eyes, I think my natural reaction to boring spewl was to block it out - so that's exactly what I did.

Feeling my phone vibrate, I pulled it out from the back pocket of my jeans, and grinned once I saw what had popped up on my screen.

'From: Unknown

I don't know if you remember me, but I'm the guy from Kelly's (the bar?). We didn't really get to talk, so I thought you may want to go for a drink on Saturday?'

Gripping on my lip to try to suppress my smile, the only thing stopping me from doing the whole breakfast club fist bump, was the fact that I think I would probably hurt my hand on the car roof.

Ah what the hell.

"Hella yea-ow!" I shouted out as my fist hit the roof of this freaking rust bucket of a vehicle.

Cradling my hand, I stopped caring for my hand like a child and turned my attention to the 2 people staring at me more scared than Evander Holifield when he accidentally bumps into Tyson.

"What?" I shrugged. "Why are you both staring at me like that?" Locking my phone, I quickly shoved it back in my back pocket making Luca suspiciously eye me up and down.

"Why did you just randomly hit my car roof?" He asked curiously.

Unbuckling my seat belt, I shrugged it off as if I wasn't dying to scream out in excitement and maybe pee a little.

Leaning over, I lunged my arm forwards and unlocked the car doors. I think the fact that Victoria still hadn't said anything made me assume she had guessed that it was Dreamy McDream.

That's some serious best friend telepathy going on, she deserves an award or something.

Do they have awards for best friends, you know like a tiny?

They could call it a homie... Que laughter.

Clambering out of the van, I dragged my backpack behind me as I tried to focus on not falling over in these shoes.

"Snow!" Luca called from behind. Jogging up beside me, I still hadn't moved my eyes from the ground in front of me, one wrong move and who knows? I could die.

Yeah okay maybe not die, but with a broken ankle I might as well be.

"Yeah?" Slinging his arm over me, his lips had firmly pressed upon my cheek. Pulling a face of disgust, I pushed him away feeling like I should pull out the old 'ugh as if' line from the one and only Cher I could relate to.

"Get off me you big oaf."

That'll do.

Suddenly pulling me to the side, I tried to keep up with his steps by scurrying by his side like a little pet.

"Hey what the hell are you doing-" I whined.

Pushing me on the wall, I felt the wind get knocked out of me with an oomph.

"I'm being your fucking boyfriend you idiot?" About to snap back at him, I smacked my hand in front of my mouth as I realised I had momentarily just forgotten my own plan.

Oops.

"Luca, I'm sorry I forgot." Running my fingers through my hair , I kept my hand at the back of my head as Luca started to walk away from me.

Me had turned around to face me as he shouted out his next words.

"It doesn't bother me Snow, trust me." Casually turning back, he tugged on the steaks of his rucksack and disappeared around the corner.

I knew he wasn't telling a lie. It didn't bother him, either way he'll end up on top - and underneath some cheerleader.

I guess that whole text had thrown me off.

What?

Not a lot of guys text me, okay? In fact, the only guys that have ever texted me were either my brother, my dad or Luca - So this was kinda a big deal.

He was right to get angry though, I'm the one that's landed him in this shit, the least I could do is actually remember.

My mood went from 100 to 0 real quick.

•••

Walking into Chemistry with a pile of books I could barely see over, I swear to you someone had tried to trip me on purpose.

Almost falling flat on my face, someone had fortunately gripped on around my bare waist, letting my books fall to the ground with a thud.

Looking over my shoulder, for the second time today my breath was knocked out of me - but not from any physical action.

Noah Samuels, I repeat Noah Samuels was gripping at my waist.

The fiery sparks ignited and ran through each nerve on my body. Smiling, he bent down and picked up my books for me.

"Here." Swallowing the huge lump in my throat, I mentally slapped myself out from my shocked state and actually reacted like a normal human being.

"Thanks." Handing over half of my books, he kept hold over the other half and started to walk with me to my desk.

"So I didn't see you at Kimberley's party last night?" Trying not to show the Crimson colour in my cheeks, I held my head towards the ground and chuckled lightly.

"We're you expecting to?" Dropping my books on my desk, I nearly had my millionth heart attack this morning as he casually sat down next to me.

"Well, once Kimberley reminded me nearly 100 times that you and your boyfriend would be there, I kinda felt like I had to expect you to be there." Glancing at him, he had a small smile on his face that instantly made me laugh.

"Well I'm sorry." Shrugging my bag off from my shoulders, I hooked it around my chair and made sure to pull out 2 pens.

"I was busy on a date." I said whilst handing him a pen.

Taking it with a thanks, he had said something else but my attention was elsewhere.

Watching as Luca walked in with Vanessa Hull under his arm, I don't know whether he was doing it on purpose if he just didn't notice me - but he had completely blanked me as walked on by me.

"Looks like it didn't end well?" Noah asked.

Looking at him from the corner of my eye, I took a silent deep breath before opening my notebook.

"No it went fine-" Writing down the title and date, I popped my pen in the corner of my mouth and held it between my teeth. "I just forgot something, that's all."

Nodding his head in realisation, he began to shrug off of his jacket, making me turn to look at him in confusion.

"What are you doing? Your lab partner's Vanessa?" Looking over his shoulder, he pursed his lips tightly before turning to face the front.

"Looks like she's too busy with other things." Peering over my shoulder, I bit on the inside of my cheeks to stop my screams as Vanessa hull was running down other things than her hair.

"So how about this hydrochloride." I said trying to change the subject.

I am so going to kill Luca after.

•••••

Writing down my results from my experiment, I couldn't help but stop and sigh every time Noah would mutter 'bollocks' or 'shit'. You didn't have to be a genius to know that he didn't have a clue what to actually do.

Partly because through all the instructions Miss Silk was telling us, he was set on trying to bug me or too distracted doodling in my notebook.

I couldn't watch him suffer anymore.

"Here let me help." I laughed. Pushing myself up from my seat, he looked up from the glass beaker and twitched a smile.

Holding his hands up in mock surrender, I pushed at his side playfully.

"Okay so first of all you need to pour 150mls of that into the test tube." Holding up the beaker to eye level, he looked at it strangely before starting to pour it in like it was w cool glass of lemonade.

"Woah, okay" I chuckled.

"What did I do wrong now?" He groaned.

"First get down so the test tube is at eye level." Squinting his eyes at me, I rolled my eyes at him before pushing him down.

"Forceful, I like it." Winking up at me, I burst out in a loud laugh which may have been the reason nearly everyone's eyes were on me.

"Shut up." I laughed.

Guiding his hand slowly as he began to pour, my eyes had flickered from the test tube to the concentration on his face.

His eyes were a rich blue that stuck out like a sore thumb due to the paleness of his skin and the brown of his hair.

Before I could describe anymore of him, I had accidentally pushed myself into him causing him to knock the test tube over his trousers.

Shouting up like a bolt, he looked at me with worry.

"Oh god, I spilt it on myself, what is this? Am I going to die? I can feel it burning."

"Really?" I asked amused with my arms folded across my chest.

"Yeah, I think I need to be flushed oh Christ." Starting to unbuckle his trousers, i wasn't the only one in the class with a smirk on my lips.

"Because that's sodium chloride-"

Dropping his pants, a few girls gasped and others just gawked.

"Sodium fucking chloride? Is it acid? Oh Jesus its fucking acid." He looked like he was about to jump up and down crying if the teacher didn't come back soon.

"No. It's um salt water?" I said trying not to laugh. Stopping his babbling, he froze whilst gently tugging at his bottom lip with his teeth.

"I look stupid, don't i?" He asked sheepishly in a whisper.

Squinting my eyes with a tight smile, I pinched at my thumb and index finger whilst looking him in the eye.

"Just a lil bit." I chuckled.

And at that was the moment Miss Silk decided to return from her 10 minute housewives of Atlanta break, and I can definitely tell you she did not find the funny side to it all.

And somehow I along with Noah had received a detention.

Strangely for the first time in my academic years, I was kinda happy?

But upon leaving the classroom, I could tell Luca felt otherwise.

Jheesh, if he wasn't pissed with me before - he definitely was now.
