"5...4...3...2...1...happy new year!" everyone yelled as the bells chimed and fireworks emerged in the sky. sam turned to (y/n) and brought her lips closer to his, their bodies freezing in the cold weather. (y/n) smiled into the kiss, happy to be with sam on that evening.

"2016 has been shit, but you've been the best thing ever" she whispered into his ear after pulling away, their bodies flushed together. she lightly kissed down his neck as he looked into the night sky. he adjusted his position and looked into her eyes.

"i love you"

"i love you, too, sammy" they both smile widely once again and shared a kiss before paddy knocked into their legs. (y/n) looked down and smiled at the 12 year old, his body drowning in his coat.

"come on, we're doing sparklers" he demanded excitedly. the couple smiled down at him and (y/n) allowed him to take her hand and drag her to the rest of the hollands. nikki smiled as she handed (y/n) two sparklers; she passed one back to sam.

she stood close to sam, trying to steal his warmth: her arm wrapped around his waist and his around her shoulders, as tom lit both their sparklers. unbeknownst to them, nikki pulled out her camera, capturing a beautiful moment between the two: squashed close together, smiling, sparklers in their hands.

paddy joined them shortly, standing on (y/n)'s other side, swirling his sparkler around as well. dom pushed harry and tom to stand with the other three, pointing at nikki with her camera. they gladly agreed, tom standing next to paddy and harry next to sam. they continued to swirl the sparklers as nikki took a photo, smiles present on all five faces.

once the sparkle had died out, they stood back into the position and smiled again, arms wrapped around each other.

"these are brilliant guys, definitely ones for the memory book"

"oh, do you have baby pictures in there, too?" (y/n) wondered, the four boys looking at each other worryingly.

"yes, of course! what mother would i be if i didn't keep their first bath photos?" nikki smiled, motioning for (y/n) to follow her inside.

she slipped out of sam and paddy's grip, passing dom and walking through the door after nikki. tom looked over at harry as harry threw daggers into sam's head. sam stood innocently, wondering why everyone seemed mad at him.

"what have i done now?"

"brought home a girlfriend who's going to see my baby dick!" tom whisper-yelled, covering paddy ears and leaning over to sam.

"oh, no" sam gasped.

"she's gonna see mine as well" harry protested.

"and mine!" sam sighed.

"what's (y/n) going to see?" paddy asked, wondering why his big brothers were worried.

"paddy's baby dick!" they yelled at once, pushing paddy backwards and racing into the house, desperate to stop their mum from embarrassing them.

what a way to ring in the new year.
