"it sure wasn't"

march 2018

"hey, glad you could make it" harrison smiled as he opened the door to see (y/n) waiting there.

"hey," she replied as harrison moved out of the way, letting her in further. "what did you want me for again?"

"i need to go over some lines, and i was hoping you could help me?" harrison turned to her after closing the front door, giving (y/n) the biggest smile he could muster. the word 'please' written all over his face.

"okay, if that's all you want me for, let's get started." she pulled off her denim jacket, throwing it over the arm of a sofa.

"cool. i've got my stuff set up in my room," harrison stated as he walked to turn on the kettle. he grabbed a cup, looking at (y/n) as he did so, turning his head slightly.

"i'm okay, thanks" she replied, knowing what he meant. she decided to go into harrison's room and look over the script he had. as she walked in, she noticed his laptop and script placed neatly on his bed.

(y/n) carefully picked up the script, seeing harrison's neat handwriting already tracing the pages. she had a quick look through before she heard the clanking of a spoon in a cup. quickly, she placed the papers back on the bed, hoping harrison wouldn't notice that it had moved.

his footsteps echoed through the hallway as harrison came closer to his room. (y/n) saw another script on his desk table, his wheely chair out from under the desk and in the perfect position to sit in quickly.

as harrison entered, his eyes glazed over his room, seeing (y/n) in his wheely chair and his script moved slightly from the position he placed it in. a smile appeared on his face as he placed down his cup of tea on a batman coaster.

"enjoying your reading?" he remarked, smirking over at the girl in his chair.

"loving it so far, osterfield" she replied, the same tone in her voice and the same smirk on her face.

"i thought we could just go over the script," harrison suggested as he sat on his bed. "i only got it yesterday and don't think i need to remember it off by heart already. i feel it would be good to go through it with someone just to get a feel for it, you know?"

(y/n) nodded in a agreement. "true. i guess you don't need to stress yet about remembering things"

"exactly. shall we start?"

"we shall." and then the pair of them followed the script word by word. harrison's character was one of passion, the evident knowledge of said character shining through in harrison voice. (y/n)'s character was more timid, the connection made between her and the character was made almost instantly.

as they read though scene after scene, the two become closer and closer. harrison first moving from the middle of his bed to almost the edge, and (y/n) moving from the chair to perching on the edge of the bed. the scenes played out in front of them, the enjoyment of being another person taking over them.

the scene they moved onto was more intimate, more of a need for control from both characters.

"you can't leave me," harrison spoke leaning forward to (y/n), "not like this, not now, sophie"

"i have to, josh. it's the only way to be happy," (y/n) leaned forward as well, the flow of the scene taking over.

"please, you can't do this," harrison grabbed the side of (y/n)'s neck, following the stage directions.

"i have to. i have to" she copied the words, leaning her forehead on to harrison's. she dropped the script and brought both her hands to the side of harrison's face. "it's the only way"

as soon as she said that, harrison's hand dropped the script into his lap, that hand soon finding (y/n)'s neck and his lips soon finding hers. their eyes closed in pure ecstasy as their lips fought against each other.

(y/n) was the first to pull away, taking in a deep breath. "that wasn't in the script"

"it sure wasn't" harrison responded, his chest heaving.
