Chapter 69
*** Victoria's POV ***
"Wake up!" The loud voice was followed by a pillow hitting me in the head. I jumped up whipping my head toward the source my upcoming headache.
"Elena." I groaned burying my face in my hands. "Why are you like this?"
"We have a wedding to prepare and you're here sleeping like you have no problem in the world."
"It's Sunday."
"I don't care. Like I said, we have a wedding to prepare."
"I know."
"No, you don't." She said grabbing my hands to try and pull me up. "If you did, you wouldn't still be in bed."
"I am human, unlike you." I mumbled pulling the covers over my head. "I need a few minutes to fully wake up, or two hours."
She stayed silent for a few seconds and I almost thought that she was going to leave me alone for a few more minutes until I felt her hands grab my covers.
"If it was my wedding, I wouldn't be as relaxed as you are right now." She said pulling the covers from me and threw them on the floor, then proceed to grab all the pillows on the bed to do throw them away as well.
I groaned wrapping my arms around myself and closing my eyes tightly. "You have issues."
"You're the one with issues right now." She hissed placing her hands on her hips looking down at me in a reprimanding way. "We have to finish taking care of the menu, so we have an appointment with the caterers again. My mom will join us there. Then we have to go to the shop for your first fitting, followed by our appointment to the jeweler."
I opened one eye looking at her as she tapped her foot impatiently.
"Victoria get out of bed before I go grab a bucket of ice water."
"You're crazy." I sat up knowing she was dead serious.
"So?"
I got out of bed and then blinked in confusion when I turned my head to look outside. I looked at the turned-on lights of my bedroom, then looked outside once more.
"Elena, the sun isn't even out yet!" I yelled, looking at the still dark sky, before I could stop myself.
"It is coming out. It already started on my way here." She said pointing toward the glass. "We have to go to the shop before anything so we can take care of the flowers orders. Those always cause problems."
I sighed and reluctantly went to the bathroom as she pulled out her phone.
"We have less than six weeks to take care of everything. I want your day to be perfect and believe me, it will be." She lowered her phone with a smile before pointing toward the bathroom. "So, go get ready."
She was demanding but I was grateful to have her here. I wouldn't even know where to start if she wasn't here. I could have hired someone but I'm sure they wouldn't have taken care of it the way she has been doing for the past two weeks, even without me.
It's pretty obvious that she's enjoying herself, while also driving everyone else crazy according to Jason. She's been doing most of it while I was still trying to catch up with my work. She was too impatient to wait, so she started without me. Now that I was up to date with all my work, I had no excuse anymore. I know she's going to use all my free time.
We had six weeks to prepare everything, and it is all I could think about these past two weeks, making it harder to focus on my work. Tons of ideas and images would just pop in my head out of nowhere and then I would find myself sportiest goofy smiles. Smiles that often come without me even noticing them.
Elena's voice snapped me out of my thoughts and I turned the shower on before she barges in here.
****
I walked back in the bedroom after my shower and went straight to my closet to pick out some clothes.
"You should eat something before we go. You have time. I don't need you fainting on me today." She said with her eyes on her phone as she typed away.
"I better have time. You woke me up before the sun did." I said looking through my clothes.
She walked closer leaning against the wall looking at me. "Someone waking up before sunrise is an issue to you when you're marrying Jason?"
"I just didn't think you were like him."
She straightened up grinning. "I'm not. But this is special. It's our wedding."
I chuckled raising an eyebrow at her. "Our wedding?"
"Yes!" She nodded looking at her phone once more as she walked away.
"Jason has been ignoring my calls." She said coming back and frowning at her phone. "He said he doesn't care about a party. But that's his wedding, for God's sake."
I started moisturizing my skin, giving her an apologetic smile. "You know your brother."
She scoffed rolling her eyes in annoyance. "At least he said he'll take care of your honeymoon. So that's none of our business."
I smiled as she walked back out and I continued getting ready.
Elena continued pacing in my room with her eyes glued on her phone. I shook my head impressed by the amount of energy she has the early in the morning. Even more impressed because it wasn't a habit of hers. She's lived with me for months and we usually woke up around the same time. Though she was always way more energetic than I was.
I walked back into my bedroom once I was ready and grabbed my purse. Elena was sitting on my bed with her phone sitting beside her.
"My mom is bringing us breakfast to the shop so we can just go right away." She said standing up.
"I have to call my mother's nu-"
"I already called your mom's nurse so she came earlier." She smirked as I looked at her in shock.
"Well thank you." I sighed grabbing my things. "You're more efficient than all your brother's previous assistants."
"Only when I care." She smiled grabbing my hand to pull me out of the bedroom. "Let's go. I told the nurse to call us once your mom is awake and ready so she can join us"
*****
"Why is Sebastian's name in the list for the invitations?" Elena asked frowned at the clipboard in her hands.
Stella looked up from her own notes looking at her daughter questioningly. "Because he's invited?"
Elena shrugged grabbing a pen from the table we were all sitting at in her office at the shop. "I just don't see the point in sending invitations to direct family members."
"You sound like your dad."
"My father is a wise man." she grinned placing the clipboard down.
"Wise man?" Stella scoffed causing Elena look up from her list after crossing Sebastian's name out. "I spent years thinking I was a divorced woman because you father threw our divorce papers in the fire."
"They fell in the fireplace, mom." She giggled playing with the pen in her hands.
"Your father threw them." Stella said rolling her eyes at her daughter's smile.
Elena tsked with a smile. "You always think the worst when it comes to dad."
"That's the best way to survive with all of you, without surprises. Always expect the worst." She said looking at her daughter knowingly. "Otherwise I would have lost my mind 30 years ago."
"At least you can't complain about having a boring life." I said taking a sip of my tea and she turned her eyes to me.
"Do you know what's really hard?" Stella asked side eyeing Elena. "Carrying babies for nine months, only for them to come and taking more from their father than from you."
I chuckled knowing how right she was. But she could at least be thankful for Sebastian who could at least control his temper and remarks until he decides not to. Unlike Elena and Jason who just said what they wanted to say, whenever they felt like it.
"What will your life be without us in it though?" Elena asked standing up to grab the color swatches.
"I don't know, baby. Like I said, I haven't been by myself in thirty years." She said causing us both to laugh at her dishearten expression.
"You can take a vacation and go somewhere alone to see what it feels like." Elena said taking her seat back around the table, giving her mother challenging look.
"Alone? Have you met your father?" She chuckled shaking her head. "And I don't think I want to know. I'm too used to insanity."
I laughed closing the binder in my hands.
"Oh, laugh while you still can, Victoria. You're marrying Jason." She said and Elena was the one to burst out laughing this time.

"Elena was upset that you didn't want to do anything." I said walking beside Jason down the streets.
I have been indoors all day with Elena and Stella and the only thing I wanted the moment I saw him was to take a walk. Something I would never do alone since it was dark, but I really needed it right now.
"I told you guys I didn't want a party and you decided to do one, so it's your business." He shrugged tightening his hold around my shoulders. "I'm taking care of my part."
"The honeymoon?"
"Yes."
"You're unbelievable." I chuckled leaning my head against him slightly.
He moved his fingers over my shoulders looking down at me. "Why? At least I'm going to be at the wedding."
I faked gasped placing a hand on my chest before looking at him. "You're going to show up at our wedding. Oh, how lucky am I?"
He nodded in agreement. "You really are."
"We don't want you there for the preparations anyways. We don't need you spreading your negativity around us."
"I wouldn't want to put you through that."
I snorted moving my gaze to the ground.
"So where are we going?" I asked looking back at him.
He looked down at me for a few seconds, before shaking his head. "I'm not telling you."
I frowned at that. "Why not?"
"I don't feel like telling you." He simply said.
"Is it a surprise?"
He shook his head again. "No. I just don't feel like telling you."
"You know I can find out if I want to."
"You can try." He smirked kissing the top of my head. "Good luck."
I nodded silently accepting his challenge. And knowing that I had a very chance of finding out. He is good at hiding things, just as good as he is at finding stuff.
Maybe Sebastian would know. But I really doubt he would tell me anything.
I would have let it go if I wasn't so curious.
"You know, you're more patient than I thought." I said after a while, hoping that he knew what I was talking about so I wouldn't have to elaborate.
And thankfully, he did.
"You're worth it. And I'm not an animal like Seb. I only slept with women I've been in relationships with."
"You've got a lot of those." I scoffed pushing his arm away, but he only put it right back there without a beat.
"Because they pissed me off."
"Everyone pisses you off."
"You don't." He smirked. "Most of the time." He added and I slapped his chest playfully. "But I don't want to talk about any of them. It's just you and me."
"I would hope so. You're about to spend the rest of your life with me."
"This is the most patient I've ever been in my life. Because that's what you want, not because I want to be." He smiled glancing at me again. "I honestly didn't even know that I had it in me. I'm impressed with myself."
"Poor baby. I'm sorry." I faked pouted and he moved his fingers to my neck pinching it lightly.
"Don't worry, baby. I'll make sure you make it up to me." He smiled and I scoffed looking ahead, trying to act unbothered, which he didn't buy because he let out a low laugh. "Do you have a picture of your dress?"
I nodded moving my gaze to the ground once more. "Yes, but you're not supposed to see it."
"Why not?" He asked and I looked up at him, wondering if he was joking, but he was serious.
"It's bad luck, Jason."
"Bullshit."
I giggled. "Jason!"
"And I think we've had our share of bad luck anyways." He said and I laughed nodding my head in agreement.
He had a point.
"Still, you can't see it." I smiled looking up at him. "I can show you the flowers we chose, cards and everything else though."
"Not interested."
I shook my head leaning my head against him looking at the almost empty street ahead. I thought about the earlier conversation with Elena and Stella before looking back at him to find his eyes already on me.
"Did your father really throw divorce papers in the fireplace instead of signing them?" I asked.
He smirked. "They accidentally fell in the fireplace."
"That's what Elena said, but your mother says otherwise." I chuckled.
"Yeah. My mom will never forget about that until my father tells her that he did it on purpose, which will never happen." He chuckled. "I'm on my dad's side on that one anyways."
I looked at him with a teasing smile. "Really?" He nodded. "Then if you try to leave me, I'll kill you." I smiled.
He leaned down to kiss my lips. "Same goes for you." He says in a more serious tone than I used.
"Don't say that so seriously." I giggled pulling away to look at his face. "I'm joking!"
"I'm joking too." He smiled. "I'll just lock you up. I promise."
"You're insane."

A/N: Next update will be the first epilogue. Wedding and smutt, you nasties!
I'm not really used to writing smut. So I know I'm gonna loose my mind writing it, especially for our baby Jason.
But there was another small flashback for Marco and Elena that I had in my documents. I'll try to make it longer and hopefully post it as chapter 2 while you wait for me to write the epilogues.
Love you!
