We have been sitting on this couch for almost half an hour now, just listening to Stella and Hunter go back and forth. Well mostly Stella, because all Hunter was saying was 'No' and 'I don't think so'.
"Do you guys want to sneak out to go eat outside? I'm sure dad can handle her alone." Sebastian whispered beside me and I quietly nodded.
"Let's wait until she faces him."
"And you thought it was a good idea to put this poor girl in this mess, and for the life of me I can't understand why." Stella continued on and on while pacing as Hunter just sat there unbothered as usual. "And then you refuse to tell me what you're planning." She said finally facing him, with her back on us.
"Let's go." Sebastian hissed and we didn't wait a second before standing and moving fast out of the living-room and to the front door.
Sebastian almost ripped the door open and literally moved to close the door to our faces.
"This man can be a chicken." I mumbled chuckling. "He's not even waiting for us."
"I know. Where do you want to eat?" Jason asked grabbing my hand in his.
"I don't know. Ask Seb."
Seb stopped in front of his car and turn after unlocking it. "Just follow me. I know a good place. It's new." He said.
"Yes. You always know the food places."
"I'm married to food. I'll text Elena so she can meet us there." He said getting in his car. "Hurry up before mother comes out looking for us."
"Let's go."
I nodded and I quickly moved to his car and got in. He waited for Seb to get out before following him.
"So what happened?" Jason asked as soon as we drove past the gates.
"We saw Donovan. He said you got into a fight with his son. Is there any chance you would remember fighting with Kevin's nephew?"
"Baby, if I remembered all the people I've fought with, that would mean that I would the majority of men that are my age in this country."
"What kind of kid were you?" I mumbled.
"A difficult one. Now tell me. Did he know you?"
"I don't think so. He asked your mother if I was her daughter. He knows that's not possible. He was just acting stupid. And he talked about how your father fired him for asking your mother out."
He chuckled stopping at a red light. "Nice."
"But seriously. If Kevin introduces me to him, he might say that he saw me with your mother."
"We're not together anymore. You're still close to my family. You have to be, or we wouldn't trust you. You still hang out with Elena and Kevin and you pretend to still care about me so I wouldn't be suspicious." He said while looking at me. "You're good as long as we don't go out just the two of us."
I gasped placing my hand on my chest feigning to be hurt. "Are you hiding me?"
"I would if you let me, so I wouldn't have to share you." He said as his hand moved to the back of my neck before placing his lips on mine.
"Weirdo." I mumbled against his lips while placing my hand on his cheek.
I almost jumped out my skin when I heard horn behind. I went to pull away but Jason pulled me back and kissed me again like he didn't hear anything.
"Jason." I mumbled and her horns became louder.
He groaned and honked too using his other hand. The longer the others were, the longer his was. This went on for a few second until a few cars started passing by us angrily.
I groaned pulling away completely to burry my face in my hands in shame.
One of the driver just slowed down to curse at him and Jason was literally about to get out of the car when the guy started speeding up.
"Jason, stop this! Drive!" I yelled and he did making me sigh in relief. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"They should have just sat their asses down and waited. I wasn't going to spend the night on this road." He said and I groaned leaning against my seat.
"And why were you trying to get out of the car for?" I asked.
"I was going to beat his ass. What do you think?"
"You're crazy. And you were wrong. Know it or not." I said. "And we were just talking your fights."
"I don't fight. I beat asses. And these assholes made me angry honking at me like I'm a cow."
I sighed and looked him to noticed that he was actually angry.
"That temper of yours is going to get you in trouble." I said grabbing his hand between mine before moving closer to kiss his cheek.
"It also gets me out of trouble. Always." He shrugged as I interlocked my fingers with his.
I looked at the road and noticed that Seb's car wasn't there anymore.
"Well you lost Seb with all this. Do you want me call him to ask where the place is?"
"I know the place. He has been rambling about their chocolate cake for a week now." He mumbled and I nodded.
We stayed silent for a moment as I slowly drew circles on his hand using my thumb.
"So no one told you life was gonna be this waayy. Your job's a joke, you're broke, y-" I started singing but he cut me off with a groan.
"Please don't." He pleaded and I just rolled my eyes and continued with a louder voice ignoring him mumbling how horrible my singing voice was.
I turned to him and literally started scream singing and chuckled when I noticed him fighting a smile and failing.
"And you wanted to hear me sing just a few weeks ago." I said when I was done.
He glanced at me smiling. "That was because you were sad. But your singing is another kind of bad."
"You're so mean." I huffed trying to pry my hand from his but he held it tighter.
He chuckled bringing my hand to his lips. "Don't be mad. I love you even with your horrible voice."
I tried to fight my smile but failed miserably. "I love you too."
I took my seatbelt off as he parked the car in front of the restaurant. I got out without waiting and straightened my dress as Seb appeared in front of the entrance.
"What the hell took you guys this long?" He asked as Jason got out of the car.
"Some assholes attacked us." Jason mumbled.
"What? Was it Kevin? Are you guys okay?" He started asking worryingly and I laughed at his face.
"No. Some people were honking at him because he parked his car in the middle of the road."
Seb's face turned from worried to angry in second. "And why the fuck would they honk at you like you're some cows?" He asked angrily crossing his arms and I raised my eyebrows at him wondering if he was serious.
"That's what I said. This woman doesn't get it." Jason said before placing his hand on my back to make me walk to the entrance as I just stared at them wondering if they were serious.
****
"Hi guys." Elena's cheerful voice made me look away from my menu.
"Hi." I smiled as she bent down to pull me into a tight hug. "I missed you."
"I missed you too." I pouted as she pulled away to take a seat.
"You guys live together." Sebastian mumbled calling the waiter.
"So?" she shrugged grabbing the menu for a second before closing it without even really looking at it. "I'm taking whatever you're taking, Sebastian." She said as the waiter came to take our order.
We ordered and she turned to look at all of us with a smile.
"What?" I asked looking at her expression.
"Nothing." She answered still grinning.
I turned to look at Jason who looked deep in thought. He was usually quiet, but not this quiet. He hasn't said a word since we sat down. Sebastian was the one who was doing most of the talking.
"Are you okay?" I asked and he nodded grabbing my hand before giving it a light squeeze.
I was about to speak again before Elena's voice interrupted me.
"So what's the occasion?" Elena asked as the waiter came back with our drinks.
I turned to look at her. "Nothing. Seb wanted to try this place." I answered turning to her and she nodded lightly.
"I'm hoping you called me so you'd finally tell me about Kevin and Donovan." She said making both of her brothers' head snapped toward her.
"What the hell?" Seb mumbled and she shrugged.
"You think you're the only one who knows how to dig for information. I found out everything from your computers. I know what I want to know. I know everything. I found out a long time ago."
I smiled slightly and she took a sip of her wine with a cocky grin on her face.
"I'm my father's daughter." She stuck her tongue out and I couldn't help but let out a laugh.
"Your mother's daughter too." I said and she nodded with that satisfied grin on her face.
Jason just stared at her not saying anything for a while before speaking. "If you go through my computer again, I'll cut you in half, Elena."
She pouted. "You guys were keeping me out of your business."
"And for a good reason. Don't ever go through my things again. I mean it." He said.
She huffed shifting on her seat. "Come on. Don't be angry. I'm sorry. I was frustrated and you guys weren't telling me anything. And I know how to keep a secret since you guys didn't know about it until now."
"Just don't do it again."
She sighed. "I won't go through your things again."
"What about mine?" Seb asked and she scoffed looking at him.
"He's the scary brother, not you." She said.
And that's when they started going back and forth and I took that occasion to turn back to Jason.
"You seem to be in a really bad mood today. What's wrong?"
"I'm tired of Kevin's ass." He mumbled. "You won't go see him again. I don't give a fuck if he finds out that you played him."
I shook my head at that. "No Jason. That's gonna ruin everything."
"I don't give a fuck. You better put the ring on the second you get home." He hissed. "I'm done with all this shit."
I furrowed my eyebrows at him but he was actually serious.
What is he thinking?
"Jas-"
"Hello everyone." That voice?
My neck almost broke at how quickly I looked up to see Cindy standing there with a smirk on her face.
"Hi Jason." She smirked.
"God is really testing my patience today." He mumbled turning his face to me.
"Don't be like that Jason. I'm just here to talk."
I gritted my teeth and focused on controlling my breathing as she took a seat.
What kind of woman is this?
"Why don't you tell Victoria our little secret Jason?" She smirked wider as her eyes moved from Jason to me.
Secret?
