Chapter 33

"Good morning roommate." Elena grinned at me the moment I walked in the kitchen.

"Good morning." I replied before glancing at her hand that held ice-cream.
"Ice cream in the morning?"

"Not my fault. My dad used to take us out for ice cream if we woke up too early and didn't want us to wake my mom."

"Did your mom know?"

"Yeah, and she always getting angry. But she just gave up after some time. Because my father is the type of person that will say 'yes', and do the exact opposite." She said shoving a spoon of ice cream in her mouth. "My brother is like that too. Just so you know."

"Yeah. Kind of figured that out with the whole bodyguard think." I mumbled walking to the fridge.

"I like my eggs sunny side up, please." She said with a puppy face as I gave a her a look before taking the eggs out of the fridge.

"I would like your face sunny side up." I said and she gasped placing her hand on her chest.

"Jason is having a really bad influence on you."

"What did your dad say about you coming here." I asked taking out the pan.

"He is okay, since I'm here. With you." She said and I grabbed to ice cream from her.

She pouted as I closed it and put it back in the freezer. "Breakfast first."

"So are we still going to that Deny guy's exposition tonight?"

I chuckled at the resemblance with her brother. What is it with them and not saying people's name right.

Well at least Deny is closer than Benny.

"His name is Dean."

"Same thing."

****

I put the dishes in the sink after breakfast, and Elena opened the fridge and took the ice cream back out.

"Seriously?"

She grabbed a spoon and sat on one of the stools.

"You're wearing my brother's sweatshirt and literally swimming in it. You don't hear me judging." She said and started eating.

"And she looks better in it than you in your best days." I smiled and Jason walked in the kitchen.

"I'm just going to ignore you."

"I'm not fighting with you. Seb is on his way. You can argue with him when he comes." He just walked around the counter and pulled me to him.

"Hi." He leaned in gave me a lingering kiss.

"Hi." I smiled when he pulled away.

"Please, not in front of me people, I'm still innocent." She complained but still had a smile on her face.

"Did you hear something?" Jason asked looking at me and I laughed earning a glare from Elena.

"You can't pretend I'm not here. No one can."

"I really think I can hear something." Jason said and Elena angrily continued eating her ice cream while mumbling incoherent words.

She suddenly smirked and looked at me.

"What time do we have to start getting ready?" She asked.

Low blow, Elena.

"Get ready for what?" Jason asked looking at me.

Why is he looking at me? It was Elena who talked about it.

"We are going at an art exposition." Elena said before I could open my mouth

"What exposition?"

"His name is Dean and he invited Victoria."

"You're not going."

Elena snorted before putting a spoon full of ice cream in her mouth, giving me a satisfied look.

"I knew he was going to say that." She smiled pointed her spoon at us.

I ignored her and turned my attention back to Jason. "Why not? Elena and I are both going."

"I don't like him."

"Of course you don't. Like dad doesn't like uncle Matt after all these years." Elena replied earning a hard look from her brother.

"Jason we're just going to see some of his work, it won't be long. It would be rude to cancel twice. Plus it's not a date. Elena will be there, and I'll let him know that nothing will happen between us if he wants something else." I explained trying to reassure him, but, of course, it didn't work.

"I don't like him."

I frowned and leaned back against my seat. "You're unbelievable."

He just shrugged staring at me. "So you would like it if a woman you didn't like, like Cindy, invited me?" He asked and my frown deepened.

He is so annoying.

I groaned and stomped my foot before grabbing my phone.

So annoying.

I dialed the number and brought the phone to my ear before turning to Jason, who had a satisfied look on his face. I almost whined when I heard his voice.

"Hello?"

"Oh hi Dean."

"Hi Victoria."

"Umh... About tonight, I'm afraid we won't be able to come." I said and instantly felt bad.

I heard him let out a sigh and I gave Jason a dirtier look than before and then turned to look at Elena who silently laughing.

Don't they have hearts?

"Really? Can I know why?"

"Why?" I repeated looking at Elena. "Umh... I-"

I gasped when Jason walked up to me and took the phone out of my hand. Well he almost did, but I held onto it tightly and I stared whispering 'no'.
He placed it on his ear, while I was still trying pull it.

I saw Elena laughing harder out of the corner of my eyes, making me more desperate.

Why kind of friend is that? She should be fighting with me.

"Because you're the son of a bitch and tried to hack into our system to find her password. And you are a dead man if I lay my eyes on you again." Jason snapped making me instantly let go of the phone.

Dean was the one who hacked into my computer?

He hung up the phone and looked at me.

"When were you going to tell me?"

"After I found him and killed him?" He said and buried my face in my hands and sat on on one of the stools.

"Jason don't joke. This is serious."

"Who said I was joking?" He said and I looked up when I didn't detect anything other than seriousness in his voice.

I just ignored that small part and focused on the thing at hand. "So he's working with Kevin, isn't he?"

"Yep. So next time someone asks for your address, you don't just give it to them." He said and I huffed at his accusing tone. "That's probably how Kevin knew about it."

"I get it. Don't rub it in."

"Just want to make sure that you understood the situation."

"So can we still go to that exposition and Jason can tear him apart." Elena suggested and I gave her a disapproving look. "What? He deserves."

"No one is going anywhere."

"Kevin hired him a few months ago anyways. They didn't contact each other since, probably because he did a miserable job."

The doorbell rang and I stood up and went to open it.

Can we really not trust anyone anymore? I'm really disappointed. I actually thought he was nice, and here I was feeling bad when Jason was mean to him.

Turns out he deserved it after all.

I stopped dead in my track when the front door opened before I could reach it. Sebastian walked in and closed the door behind him.

"You were taking too long."

"How did you get in?" I asked already knowing the answer he is going to give.

"I have my ways." He smiled.

Of course he does.
