Chapter 19
I moved lightly when I felt a tickle on my ear. I turned my head to the other side and it followed.
"Leave me alone." I groaned moving my head under the pillow.
"Wake up. It's five p.m." He continued. "We gave to go."
"I'm not going anywhere. Except back in my dreams."
I just tightened my hold on the pillow getting annoyed. I love his voice but it's really annoying me right now.
"Victoria." He said in a warning tone.
"No. I took the day off. Stop talking, my sleep is going away." I said holding the pillow tighter.
"Wake up." Jason said again before ripping my pillow from me. "My father wants to talk to you."
My eyes flew open as my sleep instantly went away. I turned my head to him so fast I thought I was going to break my neck.
He just nodded as his eyes moved back to his computer on his lap.
"Where did you get your computer?"
"Seb brought it. Not everyone has the day off." He smiled looking back at me. "And you look better than you did this morning."
"Don't expect me to thank you after you told me I looked like shit. What about your father?" I asked.
"He wants to talk to you. So you have to wake up so we can go." He explained and I just stared at him not knowing what to say.
"Because of Kevin? Why? Can't you just explain it to him."
He smiled before placing the pillow he took by my feet. "What can't you? Is my father scaring you?"
"Yes!" I said, not hesitating.
He let out a laugh as I looked at him seriously.
I really was. I wasn't trying to be funny.
"And you were also scared of me before. What happened?"
I sat up stretching my arms. "Yeah. That was before. Now you're just a big puppy with temper issues."
"Big puppy?" He shook his head. "I should fire you."
I scoffed. He won't fire me because I called him that. I said worse.
"Would you really?" I asked looking at him and his lips turned into a small smile.
"Not for that. But if you did something really worth firing? Yes. Your special treatment has limits, young lady."
I nodded agreeing.
"I know. I just want to know them. What are my limits?"
"You look better than you did this morning. Go get ready."
"Tell me."
"No." He grabbed the pillow again before hitting my legs with it. "Now go get ready."
"Go to hell." I mumbled but still got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom.

"I can't believe you didn't tell me!" Stella's loud voice was the first thing we heard as we walked in the the house.
"It wasn't planned. We wanted to find him first and not worry you." Sebastian replied as we followed the voice leading us to the living-room.
Stella was standing in the middle of the living-room obviously mad, while Sebastian just on the couch as if ready to run away any moment.
"You!" She hissed pointing at her husband, who was calmly sitting on the couch. "I'm so sure you're the one that didn't want them to tell me."
"Yes. Because you were going to go crazy and stress yourself. Just look at you." Hunter replied leaning back on the couch.
Sebastian just stood up when we walked in and moved away from his mother. He moved close to us as Stella just kept talking to Hunter.
"I don't know what happened. You walked in on her yelling. I walked in on her throwing the vase toward dad." He whispered pointing at the broken pieces on the floor.
Maybe I can understand the Godzilla nickname Hunter gave her.
"Victoria!" She exclaimed making my eyes move to her. "Are you okay? They just told me everything, these stupid men." She asked moving closer to me. "I'm so sorry."
"I'm fine." I replied trying not to laugh when she looked at Jason with a suddenly hard face.
"Is that how you thank me? By keeping me out of your business. After hours of labour, is that you thank me?"
Jason shook his head quickly. "It was dad!"
"That's what I told her. We didn't know he didn't tell you at the beginning."
Throwing their father under the bus like that.
"Was I pointing a gun at you?" Hunter looked at them and they both kept quiet. "Unlike you. I like making your mother angry."
Stella just rolled her eyes. "I just wish I knew earlier. They could have hurt her really bad. And it would have been your fault."
"Stella, it's okay, really. I just want my mother safe."
"Don't worry about that. We sent people there." Hunter said as Stella moved back to the couch pulling me with her. "Jason said you didn't want people with you. Would it be with you to stay with him for awhile?"
"I... I can't. I can stay at my place."
I can't live with him. He may be my friend, but I wouldn't be comfortable staying with him under the same roof.
Plus if I move in with Jason, they might know that I told him. I would rather get killed by them, then risk my mother.
"Why not?"
What can I say?
"I just wouldn't be comfortable with it." I said lowly.
"Ouch." Seb chuckled dropping on the couch and Jason glared at him.
"Well we don't want to take any risk. It's that or we'll have people there to protect you." Jason said in an annoyed tone and it was my turn to glare at him.
"And I'm big enough to make my own choices."
Sebastian just kept laughing. "Like I said. The student is growing up."
"Why are you so damn stubborn?" Jason groaned completely ignoring Seb.
"My mother has bleeding hands, and I still told you what happened. Trust me when I'm saying I am not stubborn enough."
"I've always liked her." Hunter chuckled.
Jason just sat there looking at me hardly and I glared right back.
He has his two parents, brother and sister. He can't understand my position. I only have my mother. She's my only family.
I can say yes to anything else, but not this. If I loose my mother, I'll loose everything.
"Vicky, you should at least think about it. I'm sure Jason will know how to keep your mother safe." Stella said softly making me break eye contact with Jason.
I shook my head again.
"Since you want to do whatever you want, I'll do the same." Jason said pulling his phone out and walking out of the room.
"By being stubborn, I'm risking my own safety and I can deal with that. But on your side, you are risking my mother's safety. If you put her life at risk just because of your stubborness and your uncle ends up hurting her, I will not forgive you." I hissed and paused.
After a few seconds he shook his head and walked away while placing his phone on his ear.
*** Third Person ***
"She told them, like we expected. They have men around the hospital." Donovan said and his brother just stayed calm.
"That bitch. I knew she was going to. If she thought I wasn't serious, she doesn't know what's coming. Do you know how many men are there?"
"No yet."
"Well tell your son to get to it. I want to know everything. What that Victoria doesn't know is that I don't have anything to loose. But she does. She trusts them to keep her mother safe. She'll realize that it was her first mistake."
"You can't kill her mother yet." Donovan reminded.
"I know. I still need her. But she won't be as useful when I'm done with her."
