"Kevin was the name of the old man I helped in front of the building."

"The man gave you his name and you're waiting until now to tell me." He said pulling back.

"Well I didn't know you had a crazy ex uncle named Kevin." I sighed crossing my arms over my chest.

"I can't believe that fucker came near the building." He mumbled pacing. "What else did he tell you?"

"Nothing. He just thanked me for helping him asked me remember his name." I said sitting on the couch arm rest. "Jason calm down." I said as he just kept pacing.

Of course, he didn't.

He just took his phone out and started dailing a number. Probably his father.

I sighed and watched as he started talking while walking back and forth.

After about fifteen minutes, he hung up and turned to me.

"This is exactly why you just shouldn't be talking to strangers. The man is fucking crazy." He groaned. "He probably knows how close you are to me."

"Jason-" I started but he started again.

"What did he say to you?" He asked again and his questions were also starting to stress me.

"Nothing. He just thanked me for helping him." I said. "Just calm down, please. You're stressing me also."

"I can't believe he had the guts to come close to the building. I'm sure he knows who you a-"

"Jason!" I said loudly cutting him off. He paused before turning to look at me. "Calm down." I added walking closer to him to grab his arm and started pulling him to the couch.

I made him sit down and I sat on the table in front of him.

"The man is crazy. If he talked to you, it's because he knows something." He groaned leaning back on the couch. "He even tried to kill my pregnant mother. That's how crazy he is."

"Are you serious?" I asked in disbelief moving to sit next to him. "And he was really doing all that because he was adopted?"

He just shrugged before wrapping an arm over my shoulder. "Out of envy, power and money hungry. I honestly have no idea what kind of human being he is."

I snorted at the look on his face. It looked like he was genuinely confused.

"They hurt just for the pleasure of hurting and end up destroying themselves." I said before turning to him with a smile. "That's exactly what he did 25 years ago. And he will make the same mistake again if he tries something bad, and this time it will lead him to his own death."

He chuckled. "And I'm the scary one."

"Yes. Because I learned everything from you."

He just shook his head. "You and your smart mouth." He sighed. "How is your mother?"

"She's good. As good as she can be." I said. "You should come with me next time I go to see her. Or are you scared she's just gonna stare at you like the last time?" I laughed at the memory.

My mother was staring at him the whole time, blinking only a few times. She wasn't talking, even when I tried to make conversation. She was just staring at him.

Any other person would have been scared or at least be uncomfortable. But Jason being himself just started staring right back at her. So I was just sitting there while they were having a staring contest.
And obviously, he started laughing as soon as we walked out my mother's room.

"I will. Last time was fun." He laughed tightening his hold on me. "She was probably wondering if I was an angel."

I rolled my eyes smiling. "Or the devil."

"Says the one who looks like the demon." His hands moved down and he pinched my side making yelp and let out a laugh.

"Stop. I'm ticklish."

"I know." He smiled before grabbing both my legs to place them on his lap.

"So what are gonna do when you find Kevin?" I asked grabbing his hands and started cracking his fingers.

I don't know why I liked doing that. But since it didn't seem to bother him at all, I wasn't going to stop myself. I don't why he would just let someone crack his fingers.

I can't even crack my own.

"If he's not looking for trouble, then he's good. But if he is, then it won't end good for him."

"You're not going to push me away just to 'protect' me right?" I asked using my fingers to quote the word 'protect'.

He chuckled. "No. That's not how things go with me. I'd rather put a bullet through his head if he comes close."

"Just relax. He didn't try anything yet. He has been locked up for years. He is old. I think he can worry about himself." I said and he laughed humorlessly.

"You don't know him yet." He sighed running his hand up and down my side. "And I really hope you don't."

"I hope so too." I nodded. "Did I tell that I was invited to the auction for Sandy foundation?" I asked and he hummed. "It's tomorrow. You'll come with me, right?"

He had to come, as usual. I could never go to these kind of parties alone. I honestly wouldn't know where to put myself.

I knew how to talk to people when I had to, because my job requires me to interact with people. But that doesn't make it easier.

"You're gonna make me spend a fortune to buy you an ugly ass painting like the last time?" He asked looking at the painting on top of my fireplace.

I laughed slapping his shoulder. "I didn't ask you to buy me anything. You just bought it on your own and it isn't ugly."

He scoffed grabbing my hands. "The way you were looking at it was basically begging me to get it for you."

"You are the ugly one." I said. "So you're going with me?"

"Of course." He smiled. "If I don't you'll just faint there. I can't let that happen."

"I hate you."

** Third person **

"What's new?" Kevin asked looking up at his brother.

"I should be asking you that. You keep giving orders without telling us what all this is gonna do." Donovan groaned opening the fridge to take two cans out.

"Take what's mine. And make them eat the dust just for my own pleasure." He said opening his drink.

"They must know you're out, and are probably trying to find you. If we attack them the wrong way, your life is over." Donovan said looking at his brother worriedly.

"I will tear them appart." Kevin said with a sinister smile. "From the inside. Without physical injuries."

"One by one?"

"Every chain has a starting. From Hunter to Elena." He paused thoughtfully. "But one person always keeps it all together. The strength of the family. Hunter is retired. Everything relies on Jason now."

"And?"

"That's one of the weak points of the Knights. There's always one lead. If that one goes down, everything goes."

"Hunter is still alive."

"Yes. But he isn't holding everything up anymore. Jason is." Kevin smirked. "Now what is Jason's weak point?"

Donovan smirked taking a gulp of his drink. "If you hurt that Victoria woman, they will know where it's coming from."

Kevin chuckled. "Who said I wanted to hurt her? I'm not going to hurt her. She is just a pawn. A pawn that will tear the Knights from the inside."

Donovan nodded standing up. "I just want the money. So what's the next step?"

"We also know Victoria's weak point. Send more flowers to her crazy mother."

Sorry. The first people who saw the chapter might find he last paragraph confusing, because I edited it.
My annoying cousin reads my book from my phone and she changed the last part because he is a #??##?. I didn't see it until after I published it. So sorry again.
So Victoria's mom is not Kevin's sister. What I'm preparing for you is bigger than that, trust me.

Again no! Victoria's father is not Kevin or Donovan or Hunter (some people ask me if he was)😂. I'm not that evil.
