Not Even Death Do Us Part

Damon's POV:
A month later...
Finally I found her. Now just got to be the regular cool Damon. I walk up to her door and knock. A guy whom I'm guessing is her brother opens the door. "Um is Sommer home?"I ask already knowing the answer. "Ya, I'll go get her,"He says walking off.

Two girls come up to the door smirking. They both sort of look like Sommer. "Hello, ladies,"I smile at them. "I'm Damon..."I start to say. "Salvatore, yes we know. Sommer wouldn't stop talking about you for a week,"The blonde one says. "Ya... I didn't know if you were actually cute... I guess not,"The brunette says making me frown. "Nope, your gorgeous... No wonder Sommer liked you,"The blonde says smiling. I smirk. "You think Sommer likes me?"I ask curiously. "Ya but she seems kinda heartbroken lately,"The brunette admits.

"And we're pretty sure that you're the one that caused her to be so depressed,"Two boys say from behind the girls. "And you might not live to see another day because of it,"The boy in the jean jacket says. "Stop being so rude Jake!!!"The brunette says exasperated. "He hurt our sister!!! Ellie,"The guy in the plaid says. "Settle down, Luke,"The blonde says crossing her arms. "Jacklyn, don't you care that Sommer is in pain because of him?"Jake says annoyed. "Of course I do, we all do but let's not jump to conclusions... He may not be the only reason Sommer's upset lately,"Jacklyn tells him. "Ya... It is the anniversary of her parents death,"Ellie adds sadly. I didn't know that. I bite my lip as I keep listening. "I know and I feel bad but he doesn't have to make things worse,"Luke says pointing towards me. "Lucas!!"Ellie shouts at him. "No he's right... I'm sorry,"I say walking away but just as I say that Sommer comes walking down stairs.

I freeze for a moment not sure what to do. "Josh I just don't want to talk to anyone, ok... So leave me alone!!"Sommer says clearly annoyed. She pulls on her shoes and walks out grabbing my hand and pulling me to her truck. "Wow, wait a minute what are you doing?"I ask confused. "I need someone to be with while I visit my dead parents,"She whispers sadly. I smile at her reassuringly as I hop into her truck. She smiles back at me as I hold her hand.

"They were a happy couple... They said if they ever died that they would have to be buried together, not even death could pull them apart,"She sighs as she drives to the cemetery. "I remember them together... You were all happy together. I wanted a family like that so bad,"I admit looking at her. "And we gave you one... When we met and I heard your story, I immediately invited you into the family, my parents loved you like a son,"She says tapping her fingers on the steering wheel. "And I'm so greatful for that. I loved them too, still do,"I say looking out the window. She nods. "Me too,"She says parking the car so she can buy some flowers.

I decided to buy them for her. "Thank you,"She smiles kissing my cheek. "Are you still mad at me?"I ask. "I was never mad at you, I just was hurt... I knew you still love Elena and it just really hurt. I couldn't take seeing you guys like that for some odd reason, it felt like she stole you from me,"She whispers looking a little ashen. "You were jealous... I think that's cute but yes I do love Elena but the thing is, I love you more,"I say cupping my hand to her cheek. "I love you too, Damon,"She whispers as I kiss her. "And I'm not cute,"She says against my lips. I place my hands in her back pockets. "Oh yes you are,"I say pushing her against the truck as I kiss her hungrily. She kisses back aggressively. "I've been waiting for you to do that,"She smiles. "I'm glad I did,"I say helping her into her truck as I get into the passenger seat.

We laugh and sing at the top of our lungs along with the songs on the radio while we drive. I'm extremely happy seeing her like this. She looks like she's feeling better.

She parks her car in the little parking lot at the church. She gets out and visits the preacher. Apparently she comes to church a lot and actually preaches with him sometimes. The preacher hugs her and tells her how proud her parents would be of her. She smiles and nods as she walks off to her parents' grave. I wave to the preacher and walk with her, holding her hand. She sighs and sits down in front of her parents' grave. She lays the flowers down and for the first time I saw her cry. I kiss her head gently and she lays her head on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry, Sommer,"I whisper resting me head on hers. "I'm here for you,"I say rubbing her back. "Thank you,"She says with a shaky breath. I got her back.
