Chapter 7

AIDEN'S POV

I was not hungry. But upon the insistence of Callum, I drove to the nearest restaurant to get something to eat.

I pushed the door and I could smell the intoxicating scent of my mate. Why can't I eat this? My wolf whined.

I approached her carefully, watching her face. She shyly smiled at me and I couldn't help but melt into a huge grin.

I could smell another scent. The red-haired girl sitting opposite to her was- a wolf? So there were other wolves at Harvard. I thought I was the only one.

'Are you a wolf?' I mindlinked her.

Her eyes suddenly darted across the room in search of the person who had invaded her mind. 'Yes.' she replied.

'I'm a wolf too. My name is Aiden.' I stated.

'I'm Amber. Nice to meet you.' She said in the most cheerful voice ever. That was weird.

Should I tell her that Sophia is my mate? I contemplated. No, that would complicate things.

'Go to the bathroom.' I told her.

'Why? No!' She said.

Using my alpha voice I commanded, 'Go to the bathroom and stay there for ten minutes!'

She surrendered into my will, 'Okay!'

As Amber left, I slid into her seat, facing Sophia.

"Hey Sophia." I said taking in the full taste of her name on my tongue.

"Hi." She said looking down.

"I can't wait to defeat you in all the other sports. What next, soccer?" I asked.

"Um. Okay." She was not acting like her usual confident self. Uh oh. Was I using my alpha voice?

Then her food came and I saw she had literally ordered grass. I mean who eats salads without meat and eggs? She must have seen my furrowed brow and she told me, "I'm vegetarian."

We were never going to work. The moon goddess had to be totally mental to put me with Sophia, we were poles apart. If I was the sun, she was the moon!
