It was a very dark night, most people would be in bed at this hour. Ayano was waiting for Itachi to come home. They had been married for two years now, it felt like weeks to Ayano. Nothing new has been happening Itachi still works most of the time and Ayano does low-rank missions so she can be home in time to pick up Naruto and make dinner (not that she minded)

Ayano almost jumped out of her skin at the sound. She quickly pulls it together and runs to the door finding Itachi..... Crying.

"Itachi" she says under her breath before pulling him into a tight embrace. He stutters his words not making any sense as they were just noises. He finally gets a grip on his words "Shisui.... he's-" Itachi sobs, Ayano tries to comfort the crying Uchiha the best she could.


The next day Ayano and Itachi (along with Naruto) were going to visit Itachi's parents. "Why does teme have to be there too?" the young Uzumaki complains with his arms crossed "He's not very nice all he does is stare at Hiyo-chan and act like he's better than everyone else" he grumbles (A/N: Sasuke senses a disturbance like someone is talking shit about him) Ayano sighs at his whining, Itachi looks at Naruto intrigued. "Hiyo-chan?" he asked Naruto who looks up at Itachi nodding "Yeah Hiyori, she's one of the girls in my class. She's nice, Sasuke is always watching her. I think he likes her" Itachi hums in response but Ayano could tell he was excited about the fact his little brother had a crush.


When they arrive at the Itachi's parents house they see three Uchiha police officers "Is Itachi here?" one of them asked. Itachi walks over to them "Yes?" they glare at him "Only two people didn't show up for last nights meeting" the first Uchiha says. Ayano looks down at Naruto "You should probably go inside this isn't something you would want to hear ya know" Naruto pouts but does as he was told and goes inside the house but was glared at by the police guys. (A/N: yes police guys that makes sense we are going to give them names because I'm tired of typing 'the first Uchiha' the first guy will be called Kevin, the second will be Mike, and the third will be Bartholomew ok on with the story) then they continue their conversation. "Why didn't you show up?" Mike asked but came out as more of a demand then he looks at Ayano "Did she stop you from going?!" he yells. Itachi stands in front of Ayano protectively "I understand then I'll be more careful from now on. And please don't bring my wife into this, now I must ask you to leave" Itachi says politely.

Kevin speaks again "It's regarding the suicide drowning of Shisui Uchiha in the Nakano river last night." Ayano takes hold of Itachi's hand as a way of comforting him, he holds her hand rubbing it with his thumb to let Ayano know that he was ok. Though Itachi was good at hiding his emotions but hearing the words about Shisui made him frown and look at the ground. "I haven't seen him at all recently, it's unfortunate." Bartholomew holds out a piece of paper "this is a note Shisui left behind" Mike glares at Itachi "To someone with the Sharingan, it would be easy to mimic his handwriting perfectly. Take it to the Anbu and request that they help out with the investigation" he demands. Ayano starts to get worried about the whole situation but Itachi looks emotionless "Understood" the Uchihas walk away but Itachi stops them by saying "Why don't you just come out and say it?!" The Uchiha's look back at the couple with their Sharingan's activated, Ayano gasps "You guys think Itachi killed him?! That's ridiculous! When he heard about his death he was devastated, don't make such outrageous assumptions ya know!!" Ayano yells angrily and is about to pummel them but Itachi places a hand on her shoulder "It's alright Ayano, I can handle this"


Itachi then beats them up and is talking all the while. "Its always 'the clan this' or 'the clan that'!" he grumbles Bartholomew tries getting up and speaks "After about a year of working with the Anbu, your actions and manner of speech are stranger than ever" he coughs out. Ayano watches sadly wishing to go and comfort him but she knew she would only get in the way of things. "Also, it is foolish to fear what we're yet to see or comprehend!" Itachi shouts. "Cut it out, Itachi!" Ayano and Itachi turn to face the voice of Fugaku "Calm down" he says in a serious tone, Itachi throws a kunai at an Uchiha crest symbol on the wall hitting it in the center.

The Uchiha police trio get up and talk about arresting Itachi, "Itachi!/Nii-san!!" Itachi's eyes widen as he looks at Ayano then a terrified Sasuke looking through the open door. Itachi falls to his knees "It was not I who killed Shisui. But for the words I have said, I deeply apologize."


A few weeks after that incident everything went back to normal. (well from Naruto and Sasuke's point of view) Ayano knew that Itachi had to make the most important decision of his life, Ayano had been talking with him about it he would sometimes cry about it. Ayano hated seeing him like this all she wanted was for him to be happy and for the two of them to be happy together.


Ayano woke up and saw Itachi sitting up looking deep in thought she frowns "Today's the day...... isn't it?" Itachi nods sadly. She hugs him "I...I can-", "NO!" he interrupts her "I... I don't want to get you in trouble... It's my choice, it has to be me." Itachi leaves to go do something and Ayano brings Naruto and Sasuke to the academy and watches them from afar all day then brings Naruto home. Sasuke wanted to stay back to do some extra training.

Its been a few hours, Ayano has been staring out the window all the while. The stars shined so bright behind some dark clouds, a crow lands on the window. Ayano opens it and chuckles "You could have gone through the door ya know" the crow nods and in a poof of smoke becomes Itachi blood covering his Anbu uniform. "I did it all have been killed but Sasuke, Shisui's little sister Jiran, and that girl that Sasuke likes and her brother." Ayano frowns placing a hand on his bloody cheek "I wish it didn't have to be like this, maybe I should have done more or-" Itachi puts a finger to her lips. "You did so much to help me, I wouldn't ask any more of you Ayano"

He looks away from her "I'm joining an organization in wait for Sasuke to grow strong and kill me" Ayano felt tears fall down her cheeks "Itachi please let me go with you... I...I cant loos you too. I love you... I.. I need you" Ayano hugs Itachi crying. Itachi kisses Ayano lovingly "I love you too Ayano" He puts her under a genjutsu "goodbye"



In the genjutsu it was her watching all of the memories they shared together. (like Naruto did in the Last seeing him and Hinata)

Ayano opens her eyes whipping away her newly wet cheeks looking around. She was in the hospital Naruto was in a chair close to her sleeping. The door opens a nurse walking in "oh you're awake, thank goodness you've been under that genjutsu for a few days." the nurse looks at Naruto rolling her eyes "we haven't gotten him to leave since you got here not even lord Hokage could get him to leave" Ayano nods getting up which wakes up Naruto who starts to cry "NEE-CHAN!!" he cries hugging her. Ayano hugs back "I made you worry I'm sorry Naruto" Naruto cries even harder nodding into her chest, Ayano pats him on the back "I'm alright"

Ayano speaks with the Hokage after she left the hospital. "Do you know why he did it Ayano?" he asked. Ayano looks down "You know why he had no choice" she grumbles. The Hokage was taken aback she never got upset around him, she was always polite but now she was sad and angry. "I should have done more..." Ayano mumbles looking back up at the Hokage "And now he's GONE!" she yells tears running down her cheeks. Ayano is about to leave but the Hokage asked her if she will still go by Uchiha. Ayano turns around "I love Itachi I will always love him" she then leaves.


Ayano goes to the academy seeing Sasuke walking alone so she fallows him "Sasuke" she says in a cheerful way. "Did you know about this?!" he says angrily, Ayano was taken aback the one happy boy had turned angry and cold. "No... I didn't" she knew if she told the truth it would make things worse and put Sasuke in danger with the higher-ups in the village. Sasuke turns his back to Ayano "I'm going to get strong, strong enough to kill him" he says determinedly. Ayano frowns she hated to see Sasuke with so much hatred in him "Sasuke I... I'm here for you if you need anything" Sasuke turns and glares at Ayano "You know nothing about what I'm going through Ayano get lost!"

Ayano smacks the young Uchiha upside the head "I lost my parents when I was way younger than you, and I also lost your brother don't you tell me I know nothing about what you're going through Sasuke ya know!" Sasuke glares at the ground tears welling up in his eyes as Ayano hugs him "and there's no way I'm going to lose anybody else, not even you edgy ducky boy"

God even just rereading this makes me cry.
