Chapter 25

Raptor watched her royalty as she strode around the 'con tied to the pole in the center of their camp. Her optics were lidded as he wings slid a little lower she looked behind her at Bladewing.

"What's on your mind?" The mech asked walking up to stand beside her, his optics fixated on the royalty as well

"I... I dunno." Raptor sighed softly, "Just... It's just I feel... bad." She rubbed her arms a little bit shifting on her pedes

"Bad? What for? We are only doing what we have to to survive." Bladewing stated plainly at her his optics lidding a little, "Don't feel to bad about anything that happens."

That didn't sit right with the femme, she glanced away, "Couldn't that logic be applied to everyone else?" She knew who she was talking about but she doubted Bladewing understood it, "Like the Autobots and Decepitcons, aren't they all just trying to survive too?"

"You know enough that it was their war that caused the fall of both our home and the the destruction of Cybertron." Bladewing stated glancing at his comrade, "Why are you now questioning your loyalties?"

"I'm not questioning my loyalties... Just wondering about others... And if maybe we are all just victims of this war..." She murmured softly her wings lowering

"We are all victims, but that doesn't matter, what matters is which side you are on. Which side and how you act," Bladewing sighed looking back towards the royalty still doing her thing, "As long as you follow the side you chose then you are in your world's right."

Raptor sighed and looked down a little, it just didn't feel right, she wanted to believe in his words, but she just couldn't find herself becoming enemies with her friend, the royal consort, Starscream. She had said all those cruel things to the poor mech, he should be dead to their race, but he could have only be doing what he had to to survive. Just like them, he had been so remorseful.

It just felt so wrong. She knew that her royalty had saw Starscream as well, her mate. Or ex-mate now. Raptor couldn't tell exactly how the bot was feeling, but she could see that she was hurting, the way she held herself spoke a lot.

The stiff and ridged posture of her wings, the straightness of her spinal strut. She was trying to push her emotions down and keep herself in a calm and level head space, but she was walking along on a thin tight line, if that snaps Raptor didn't know what would happen.

"Don't worry too much Raptor." he stated softly, "We'll keep our people alive and serve the royal bloodline and fulfill our duties."

The small seeker nodded slowly lidding her optics a little, "For the royalty." She nodded

"For the royalty." He stated nodding a little before turning away and starting to walk away

Raptor tilted her helm up to watch the Royal Seeker continue to berate the 'con for information. The femme rubbed her arms a little more swallowing thickly at the thoughts within her helm.
