Is there once upon a time?

Every fairytale starts with Once upon a time but this started when she was seven.

Before that, her life could hardly have been counted as one.

There was a lady who had a cute little seven-year-old daughter.

Her life had become so hard that she couldn't bear the weight of it. Their landlady also showed no mercy on them and threw her few belongings out of her apartment.

Belongings?

Just for the name.

She only had two pairs of clothes, one which she was wearing which seemed as if it had been sewn six times over and over again and the other one was wrapped up in a blue carry bag. The girl was dressed in a worn out pink frock.

They both were walking on the pavement while heavy rain started pouring down. The mother somehow shielded her daughter using her body even though hers was throbbing with pain on the contact with chilling rain of December, that showed no mercy either.

The grief of untimely death of her husband, nowhere to go and filling the stomach of her daughter was too much for a lady to manage with an unstable job in an old restaurant.

"Momma I am feeling hungry! Please buy me that bread." The daughter pleaded while pointing at an expensive bread filled with raisins, kept for display in the bakery shop.

Maybe she was unaware of the situation in which her destiny had kicked her into or maybe she was trying to be like a pigeon who closes its eyes to block out all the fear in front of it.

The lady opened her palm to count how much she had but alas she didn't have that much money.

THEN... she made the hardest decision of her life. She took the child and left her in the hands of an evil queen who did not have any child of her own.

"Remember one thing, once she steps into this mansion, she is no more your child." With this, the little girl entered the mansion with only one thing in her hands; Her little white knight bear.

The lady ran away from that place, trotting across the shiny marble floor and comparing her dirty, mud laden feet with them. Without even looking back again, so that her daughter can lead a comfortable life.

The evil queen looked at the little girl and the first sentence she said was, "Welcome my illegitimate heir." At that time the girl didn't understand what was its meaning but after few years she actually knew what it meant and what was the cost she had to pay to be a princess;

Loneliness.
