POV of Veronica
"You both know each other?" Mom asked. She must have noted the surprise on my face.
I smiled to show that everything is okay,"Senior Caleb is a genius at our college. He's very famous."
I shot him a disgusting look when mom was not seeing me.
"Great then. As expected for someone Zion recommended." She exclaimed gladly.
"Then I will leave Veronica up to you." She said to him.
Yes, leave me in the hands of this devil.
"I will do my best to complete it." He replied and looked at me.
I can literally imagine him finishing me!
"Looks like you two will interact well." Mom smiled, and with this she went inside her study room.
There's definitely no way I'll get along with him!
I quickly pulled him inside our guest room which is the venue for his tyranny and my adversity.
He pulled back his hand.
"Why is it you again?" I scowled at him.
"Ever since the royal ball party, why are you everywhere?"
He looked at the other side, almost bored which made me more mad at him.
"Are you interested in me? You're purposely trying to get closer to me." I sighed deeply and crossed my arms around my chest.
"Caleb, let me tell you. You and I are impossible. You can forget these thoughts okay?" I said while stressing on each word. Because of sympathy I even patted his shoulder.
"I don't have time to think about those kinds of stuff. Principal told me to come here to tutor you."
"Then you are saying that you don't want to tutor me?"
He winked his eyes, indicating that he agreed with what I said.
Perfect.
"If its like that then it's very simple. Since you don't want to tutor me and I don't want to listen to you, then when you come you can just read some books or go and use my computer and internet. As for me, I will still pay you. But we won't bother each other, okay?" I raised my palm for a high five.
He looked at me as if I had said something just so unbelievable.
"But I had already promised Sir Zion that I'll help you raise your scores."
"Humph! Uncle Zion doesn't know that you're a pervert."
"T..that was an accident!"
"What do you mean that was an accident! Anyways I just don't want you to tutor me!"
"If you think that studying with me is awkward then tell the principal yourself!" He said and turned around to opposite direction.
I definitely can't do that, how can I tell my idol that someone had already harassed me!
He tapped his mathematics notebook and motioned me to sit down for our study session. I made the grumpiest face but have to follow his orders.
What a jerk!
POV of Caleb
Her mansion was way bigger than my imagination. Her guest room was bigger than my flat, I guess.
Each corner of her mansion was sparkling more than the roadside reflectors. There were so many workers that I can't help but think that how many people are getting employed because of Mrs. Hamilton. All the servants were in a black and white uniform and all the bouncers were in a suit of rich fabric which I can not afford. I mean not exactly, maybe I can afford it but it will consume my salary of five months.
The chandelier in the main room was also huge, I had never seen something like this except when it was our seniors' farewell I got to see one in the ball room.
I was personally welcomed by Mrs. Hamilton, she was dressed in an expensive business suit and her hair ends were dyed purple. Her mere presence was enough to radiate confidence and power, no wonder Veronica inherit the same trait. The only difference is that her mom seems more practical and composed on the other hand, she can easily loose her cool.
Mrs. Hamilton asked me various questions about my qualifications and how I'll teach her effectively, I even showed her my report cards and it seemed that she was satisfied by my achievements.
But this wasn't definitely what I was eagerly waiting for, I was really keen to see that 'lost case' expression on Veronica's face.
And that did came soon, the moment she came inside, her jaws literally slacked down, her eyes showed mixed emotions of anger, surprise and definitely frustration.
I was really enjoying it.
Choosing the easiest chapter of algebraic expressions and it's applications seemed more suitable, especially when we had our personal conflicts in between.
Her expression was seemingly bored one while she clasped the end of her pen between her lips.
Lips....those pink..
Eh! What are you thinking Caleb!
I stared back at my textbook to search a question for her. I heard her muttering that why do arts students need to study Integrals.
"What do. you want?" I asked her.
"Bring me a cup of coffee!" She ordered me.
"Hey, I'm your tutor not your servant."
"Caleb, see if your student will feel sleepy then how will I understand whatever you'll teach me, isn't it?" She exclaimed with a spark in her eyes, which made me wonder that is this the real motive behind this coffee.
But what else can I do, she was feeling sleepy and it did effected my tutoring. So I stood up and went outside to ask someone to hand me a cup of coffee.
After few minutes a maid returned with a cup of coffee and I carefully grabbed it.
"Wow! It's so good. I'm energised all of a sudden." She exclaimed with joy while smacking her lips.
Wow, was that coffee so effective that one sip was enough to boost her stamina! She seemed much jolly and awake now because she already opened her maths book and was urging me to continue our lesson.
"Let's start studying then." I said, now I believe the unmatched power of coffee in waking up a person!
"Dirichlet Fourier series conditions are as follows:-
In any period, x(t) must be absolutely integral in any finite interval; x(t) can only take a finite maximum or minimum." I started of with a mediocre question.
I looked up from my textbook and I was really surprised that how her eyes were fixed on her textbook.
Something's fishy....
Suddenly she smirked and the next moment she was having a shocked expression on her face. Her expressions were constantly changing like those actors of theatre.
Princess, I know you are fooling me but now let me catch you red handed.
I continued with my question,"If we only take the finite term in the infinite series of the right of x(t), please solve the formula. Is it the young attacking the old or a loyal dog attack?"
"Ghost attack!" She replied.
Gotcha!
POV of Veronica
Shit!!
I looked up from my book and found his eyes trained on mine or rather to be specific, trained on the textbook kept in front of me.
What an idiot I am! I was so engrossed in reading my historical comic that I hardly noticed him. God knows, how I got revealed.
His narrowed eye slits were making me nervous as if it is filled with all cruel ways to teach you a lesson! I looked away from them or else I'll be petrified by his gaze alone!
After slapping his book close, he extended his right hand and grabbed the top of the book, yanking it with all his strength. Even I huddled the book close to my body trying to keep it with me.
But it was not use, he quickly pulled it out.
"Huh? Cover. Why are you holding an English book?" He asked while placing the math book cover on the table.
Yes, this was my plan! I had purposely covered my comic with English textbook's cover so that he would assume that I was reading it, after he left the room to fetch me a cup of coffee I immediately executed my plan so that I won't end snoring in is class.
I know he wouldn't go that far and
think that I have something hidden inside my English cover too!
"I want to learn English, my English is bad out know that!" I exclaimed in one breath but still kept my book huddled close to me.
But the way he was still looking at me, I felt that he wasn't falling for my excuse.
I just hope that this ice block won't come up over here!!
I just hope that...
Freakin' shit,
He stood up from his seat and with slow and steady steps came to me. The way he was coming, he felt like a lion who is approaching a weak goat. All my bravado vanished in air on seeing him charging towards me.
In one swift motion, he pulled out my book from my lock so easily as if I was just holding it.
"Do you think that just because you've wrapped it in a cover, I won't be able to tell that what you're doing?" He said.
Was he a detective in his previous life!
Before I could pray that the book should catch fire or close my eyes with pure fear, he got hold the rough ending of the cover and ripped it apart from my dear comic!
The front side of "The Dragon Amulet" was glistening due to tube light with the main protagonist smiling wickedly.
It felt as if that guy on the cover is also mocking me!
"I wouldn't have thought the young Miss of the Hamilton family is a rotten woman." He said with amusement.
"Who's the rotten woman?! I just happened to pick up this book." Even I replied.
"Oh, I see..." he replied calmly and went back to his seat, he opened the strap of his bag, fiddling inside to search for something!
Is he going to pull out a gun?! No no, I know he's not a psycho that he will shoot me for such a filial thing.
He pulled out a sketch book and held it high, displaying it to me.
Oh my god!!
My...my sketchbook! How did he got it, how come I didn't noticed that something was missing. How will I notice when my life was a rollercoaster ride for past few days!
But still, why is it with him, of all the people?! I stood up from my seat and lunged forward towards him to grab my sketchbook but he quickly pulled it away from my reach especially with this table being a big huddle in between.
"Why is it with you? When did you sneaked in my bag Caleb!"
He motioned me to stay quiet by placing his index finger on his lips,"I happened to pick it up when you left after peeking on guys that day."
"You-"
"Shh....now the thing is that." He said while sitting down on his chair in our with my sketchbook on his lap.
He continued,"If you won't study obediently then I will accidentally drop this in our campus."
Huh?!
"This is blackmailing!"
But he ignored me and patted my sketchbook as if it was a cat!
I had no choice so I slumped down on my chair and opened my maths textbook.
He purred,"Time to study."
**********
At school there's this jerk Peter, at home, there's that devil Caleb! I think these days will be tough.
Only the bathroom back at my home and this toilet seat of my college seems comfortable where I can sigh and think what I could do. I was about to stand up and leave for my class when I heard some girls entering inside and chattering noisily with each other.
I stood still where I was after I heard one of them telling the others,"Let me tell you, I heard that Prince Peter's fiancée was shamed in front of everyone!"
I guess these are the same girls who were sitting and dining with Juliet. If it was possible then I would have killed them with my own hands. I bet they would have spread this news like wild fire.
"It's not the first time. Remember, Prince also pushed her into the pool during that grand ball." Popped up another bland thing, this time it was another girl.
"No matter how pretty you are, if you can't get into the prince's vision then it's no use." Said the first girl.
"How is she pretty? Her nose and eyes look so fake." Squealed another girl.
Oh so there are three of them.
"It's probably made from plastic surgery!" Said the second girl and the other two agreed with her.
They all chimed in together that it might be Princess Syndrome.
I opened the door of my washroom and walked with confidence between two of the girls. My sudden appearance silenced all of them as they glanced at each other nervously.
"Why aren't you talking anymore?" I asked them while washing my hands.
As I wiped my hand with my handkerchief, I said,"Let me tell you, the rumours from before are all true."
"Veronica, you're so humorous." One of them said while laughing nervously. She must be that girl who was saying that my nose and eyes are probably made of plastic because I recognised her voice.
She continued,"You are probably troubled by the reports, right? Your attitude is something that we should learn from."
After reapplying my lip gloss I replied,"No need, I think in this lifetime you guys won't be able to experience it."
That same girl who was sweet talking, turned towards me so I groped her left boob and said,"Oh, Is it silicon?"
Her expressions changed from sweet to morbid terror, I continued,"Hmm, it still feels pretty soft."
"W...what are you doing?"
I ignored her question and said,"I will think about doing it. Remember to give me the phone number."
With this I lifted my purse from the rack and walked out of the washroom with my princess attitude. Let them remember that if they ever talk behind my back, I have my own ways of teaching them a lesson.
