"Mr. Varma.. Mr. Varma..", Dev was shouting his name, barging into his house inspite of the security guard's protest. "You can't walk in like this. Sir is not at home", the security tried to stop him, but in vain. "All these days he was behind me. But now after getting what he want he is showing his true colors. Now I got to know who he is", Dev's anger was at its peak. He was angry on himself, for trusting and letting arohi to be with a man, who didn't even have a basic humanity. "Who is that?", Radha asked irritatedly descending down the stairs hearing the chaos. "Doctorji!", she said in smirking seeing Dev standing furiously.

"Doctor ji why are you here? Do you need anything?", she asked him sarcastically. "Call Mr. Varma", he said trying to be as calm as possible. "He is not at home. So you can leave", she said sternly making him all the more angry. "I'm not going to leave. I called him last night but he refused to even talk to me and now he is hiding from me", he muttered angrily making her gulp down. Only she knew that it was her who refused to hand over the call to Arjun, in her frustration last night. If anyhow arjun comes to know about it, she was sure that she will be in a place to face his wrath. "Was that you who talked to me last night over the phone?", Dev asked breaking her reverie, shocking her to the core. She knew that now she should do something to save herself from the mess she had created.

"What? Which phone call are you talking about?", she asked fumbling with her words much to his doubt. "Last night, someone picked up my call and said that Mr. Varma wasn't ready to talk to me. Was that you?", he asked her again and she gulped down. "No.. No.. It's not me. It may be some maid", she tried to cover up which didn't go unnoticed by him. "Wait. Why are you investigating me? You came here to see Arjun Sir. Now that he is not here, you can go", she said diverting him. "I want to see Arohi. Call her", he said taking her by surprise. "Why?", she asked irritatedly and he fisted his hand in anger.

"I don't have to say that to you. Call her", he said angrily. "You should say that to me only. Now that Arjun Sir is also not at home, how can I let you to meet her?", she asked him irritatedly. "I will talk to him later. Now let me meet arohi. Tell her that I came just to meet her", he said trying to be as calm as possible. He knew that his anger can ruin things now. "Wait", she said annoyingly and walked upstairs towards Arohi's room.

"Baby", Radha called arohi who was sitting on the bed, resting her chin on her knees and staring at the wall. But she didn't seem to be affected. "Baby, that doctor na.. He came to see you", Radha said irritatedly and arohi snapped her head towards her. "Mumma?", she asked her longingly while radha huffed in dismay. "No, only he came. And that too he is shouting at everyone down there. It's he who had let you go but now he is acting as if we have snatched you from them", she said annoyingly while arohi just stared at her. "Shall I go and tell him that you are not willing to meet him?", Radha asked her smiling brightly. "I'm coming", Arohi said stepping down from the bed, shocking her.

"Where is arohi?", Dev asked radha, who was descending the stairs alone. "She is coming", Radha said irritatedly and sat on the couch. Arohi walked out of her room a little later, dressed in her school uniform. Dev's eyes moistened and his smile grew up seeing arohi walking down the stairs. Before he could rush towards her, arohi went towards the dinning hall, accommodating herself conformtably. "Wow Radha aunty, you made my favourite pasta today. Now please feed me like yesterday", she said looking at her breakfast plate much to Radha's surprise. Last night, she slept silently without even eating anything but now she herself was calling her to feed her, she thought.

"Radha aunty, what happened? I'm hungry", she said breaking her reverie. Radha who was all lost in her thoughts, came back to her senses and rushed towards arohi smiling meekly. Dev, who stood there seeing all this was astonished to see arohi getting this comfortable with Radha that too within a day. "Princess, I will feed you", he said walking towards her smilingly. "Radha aunty I'm hungry", she said forwarding the plate to radha who gawked at her. Last night, she was crying for Dev and sonakshi, not even allowing to feed her but now when he himself is standing in front of her, she was ignoring him royally. Such an unpredictable kid, she thought.

Dev's eyes moistened unable to believe that arohi was ignoring him. He rushed towards her and sat before her on his knees. "Princess listen, I know that you are angry on me. But please, listen to me once. Your mumma wants to see you. You know what happened..", he was about to say something but she interrupted him. "I don't want to come with you", she said and he looked at her gobsmacked. "Radha aunty, It's getting late for school. Let's go", she said grabbing her hands and walked away leaving him shattered. "Doctor ji I guess you got your answers now", Radha said smirking at him and Dev looked at arohi longingly who walked away not even glancing at him once.

"Dev, where is arohi?", Sonakshi asked him excitedly looking behind him, who walked inside her room. "Dev", she called him again who walked in lifelessly, all lost in his thoughts. "Where is arohi?", she asked him, with tears ready to spill from her eyes anytime. "She didn't come", he muttered slowly with his head hung low. "Why?", she asked him confusedly as he settled down beside her. "She.. She went to school", he said trying to cover up. "Was that the only reason?", she asked him doubtedly and he looked everywhere but her. She held his chin, and made him look at her. "Dev, tell me the truth", she asked him sternly while he still tried to gather his words.

"She said that she won't come with me", Dev whispered slowly making sonakshi shocked. "Did arohi herself said that or someone else?", she asked him unbelievably but he shook his head in a no. "She herself told me that she won't come with me", he said more of a whisper. "Dev, she is too hurt. We have hurted her so much", she said as a lone tear escaped her eyes. He wiped her tears and caressed their baby's hair who was sleeping peacefully beside her. "I did. I was never a good father to her", he said as tears filled his eyes. "You are a good father Dev. But more than that, you are a good human. People made use of your good heart and that's why we are here", she said holding his hands.

"Can't everything become like before. Can't we live happily like before?", she asked him hopefully. "The damage is already done sonakshi. I don't think that arohi will forgive us anymore. We went to her, when we need her but when she needed us more, we left her all alone", he said and she stared at him. "But she is there where she needs to be. We are just a temporary part of her life", he continued. "Dev shall we try once again? Arohi deserves to see the baby",Sonakshi asked him with a glint of hope in her eyes. "I don't think that Arjun will ever allow her to", he said thinking how arjun refused to talk to him last night and sonakshi stared at him silently.

A week later:

Sonakshi was staring at the wall silently lying on the bed in their room, with the baby beside her. Dev was unusually late as it was raining badly that night. It was thundering heavily and sonakshi couldn't hold it anymore. It was her, who pushed him to go to clinic, but now she was regretting it badly. He knew that she was scared of thunder and wished to reach home as soon as possible. But the heavy traffic on the streets, made him a little late. Much to her dismay, even kichu bhaiya wasn't there and she was all alone with baby in their house. She never felt this lonely and her mind drifted to that day, when loneliness was just a word.

**Flashback**

3 years ago:

Dev was sitting on his desk, in their room going through some reports. Sonakshi was busy in kitchen as she was trying to learn a new dish from the internet every night since their wedding day but each day it ended as a disaster and finally they got to order some food from restaurant. It was one such night, and arohi was with dev doing her home work silently. It started to rain all of a sudden and in no time the power went off. Huffing in dismay, Dev closed the files and tried to walk down to check the generator but stopped in his traces as someone clutched his hands tightly.

"Princess, are you okay?", he asked to arohi who held his hand tightly. "Haa.. Haa.. Dev", she said fumbling, moving closer to him. "Oh ho! My brave princess is scared of dark", he teased her bending down to her height but she quickly nodded her head in a no. "I'm not scared of dark", she said turning away from him but still clutching his hand making him giggle. "Okay you are not scared. But I'm scared of dark. So, if you hold me tight, then I will relax thinking that my brave princess is there to protect me", he said and she clutched his hand even more tighter smiling at him brightly. "Come, let's go and see what your mumma is doing", he said lifting her in his arms and walking down the dark stairs.

Sonakshi was standing in a corner of the kitchen with a candle in her hand and looking here and there trying to calm herself down. She was hell scared of thunder and the darkness added further to her miseries. She knew that if Dev and arohi came to know about this fear of hers then they'll definitely tease her to death. And so she decided to stand in the same place, till the power comes back. Dev and arohi, who saw sonakshi silently standing in one corner with her back facing towards them and decided to scare her a little.

Dev walked slowly towards her, with arohi in his hand, both gesturing each other to be silent. "Booooh!", they both shouted in unison scaring the hell out of Sonakshi. She dropped the candle in her hand and it went off, making the room all the more darker. "Booth.. Booth.. Someone save me.. Jai hanuman!", she started shouting in fear while Dev and arohi couldn't hold it anymore. They both started laughing till they were out of breath. Sonakshi who was blabbering since then, stopped hearing them and gawked at them open mouthedly.

"You both!", she shouted angrily and they shut their mouths, trying to control their giggles. "Sorry", they both said holding their ears, looking at her angry form, still smiling. Sonakshi who was standing angrily till then, heard the sound of thunder and freaked out all of a sudden. She clutched Dev's arm tightly, chanting prayers to herself. Dev and arohi again burst out into laughter at her, who was looking nothing less than a scared kitten. Composing himself back Dev wrapped his one arm around her shoulder and she snuggled more into him in fear. "Sona, are you scared?", he asked her innocently and she jerked away from him.

"Me? Scared? Never!", she replied sternly folding her arms across her chest. Suddenly she heard the sound of thunder again and she hugged him tightly shutting his eyes. Arohi giggled silently at her covering their mouth and Dev gestured her to stay silent. "Yeah yeah even the word 'fear' fears seeing Mrs. Sonakshi Dev Dixit. Am I right sona?", he asked her chuckling. "Yes yes", she replied nervously hiding herself in his chest. "Something is burning", he said smelling around. "May be thunder.. Oh my god!", she freaked out and he shook his head tiredly. He turned around and was shocked to see the food on the stove burning. "Oh my!", he rushed towards the stove and switched it off, taking the completely burned food out.

"Great!", he said throwing it in the dustbin. "That's why I'm telling you not to cook", he said while she looked at him with a sad pout. "It's not my fault. It's this stove's fault. Stupid", she said hitting the stove with her hand and then shaking her hand in pain while Dev rolled his eyes off her. "Dramebaaz", he murmured and sonakshi gave him a death glare. "Are we going to sleep tonight with empty stomach? I'm already hungry", Sonakshi said sitting on the couch sadly and arohi too nodded her head. "No need to fear when Dev is here", Dev said appearing with a plate. "Bread omelette?", Arohi asked surprised. "This is much better than your mumma's burnt pancake", he said receiving a sharp slap from sonakshi. "Okay eat", he said rubbing his arm where she slapped him. "Ahh!!", Sonakshi and arohi shouted in unison, hearing a loud thunder and hugged Dev from both the sides, leaving him giggling.

**End of flashback**

"Sonakshi", Dev said snapping her out of the reverie. He rushed into the room and sat beside her examining her from head to toe. "Are you fine? I'm sorry, I got struck in traffic", he said panicked and she nodded her head knowingly. "It's okay Dev. I'm fine. He slept just a while ago", she said and they both looked at their little wonder who was sleeping peacefully. "I hope he didn't trouble you much today", he said kissing his forehead while she just smiled. "I was scared that you are alone at home. But I forgot that you have my little warrior with you", he said smiling but she was all silent.

"What happened?", he asked her who was all lost in her thoughts. "What if arohi was alone?", she asked him panicked. "Why will she be alone? Arjun will take care of her. He is a rude person but he loves her much. I know that he won't let her alone", he said and she nodded her head slowly. Somewhere they both feared that their little princess might be sitting in a corner all alone scared of the horrible thunder outside. But brushed away their thoughts thinking that they were just their imagination. Little did they know that their fear was nothing but true.

"Sona, why did you wake up so soon today?", Dev asked sonakshi who was all dressed up. "Nothing. I just thought of visiting my friend today", she said. "Friend? Which friend?", he asked her confusedly. "She was my colleague when I was working in radio station", she said covering up and he looked convinced. "Okay. Be careful. Take care. Bye", he said pecking her forehead and walked out. "I'm sorry Dev. I lied to you", she murmured to herself and looked at their baby who was smiling at her.
