"Amoret, how was tonight?" Kaius asked me, finally getting the chance to speak to me one on one after the stampede of everyone trying to meet me, to talk to Kaius after apparently barely ever seeing him.
So many comments about me being human, and a lot about him being different, calmer than he used to be.
"Yes, it was very lovely," I answered as he rubbed my back soothingly. "But this celebration does have a lot of people, doesn't it?"
"Every Luna and Alpha you could imagine, their Betas and Gammas," he told me, "everyone who holds power gets to come to The Celebration of the Wolves, with the exception of loyal guests of course, like Flynn with Luna Rose."
"Do you have a Beta?" I questioned and wondered why the only people I've met that served close to him was Faith.
"Yes, he's over there-" Kaius nodded towards a slim figure of a tall man who was leaning against a wall while he chatted away with a woman, she was noticeably giggling and playing with the ends of her hair, "-a bit of a lady's man, Chandler."
"How come I haven't met him?"
"You will, I promise. I only thought that it would be best if you had the chance to get settled, Chandler can be quite the pusher, very loud," Kaius spoke as I smiled innocently next to him.
Spotting Flynn in the crowd, I noticed the way he was searching the room until his eyes landed on me, and he started calling me over with his hands, quite furiously.
I slipped out of Kaius's embrace, pulling away as I said, "Flynn must need me, I should go see what he wants."
Not waiting for an answer, I rushed off into Flynn's direction with my heels clicking against the ground, I could barely hear it but I knew that the surrounding werewolves could.
"What do you need, Flynn?" I asked once I was close enough to him.
Flynn threw his arm around my shoulders, holding me as he began walking and dragging me with him.
"Flynn?" I questioned as my eyebrows furrowed and I looked back behind me, "Where are we going?"
His steps became faster as he continued to take me away from everyone's sight, but it was starting to scare me, a lot. This wasn't the same Flynn that I was used to, he was frantic and paranoid.
I dug the back of my heels into the ground, grabbing his arm and trying to get him off of me as we went through the same doorway.
"Flynn, I don't like this," I whispered as I wiggled in his hold.
"I'm sorry, Amoret-" but orders are orders, "-I don't want to do this."
Something flashed into my mind, a memory of some sort with blood, trees and Jordan.
This doesn't feel right.
"Flynn, stop it," I begged as I kept moving, but his hold was tight, and he didn't seem like he was going to let go anytime soon, "please, right now, Flynn, stop."
My throat tightened as I looked up at him, his eyes watering just like mine were. "Flynn, don't do this to me."
Flynn ripped open the door, the same one that the man was in, the one who hurt Luna Rose and the one who was making Flynn take me to him. Flynn shoved me into the room with a gentle push.
Their Alpha.
"Amoret," he spoke as soon as I entered, his back to me with his hands in his suit pockets, "it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Kendrick."
Flynn closed the door behind us just as the man turned around, the first thing I saw was his dark eyes, coffee eyes that were nearly black, watching me. A shiver of disgust went up my spine as I noticed the way his eyes went up and down my body.
His hand came out to grab mine, I flinched back, but he was too quick and held my hand as he pulled it up to his lips, not letting go no matter how hard I tried to pull my hand away. "You're even more beautiful than my mate."
I whimpered at his voice. He continued, "The rumours of your beauty are true."
Once he let go, I took a step back but the action made him smirk as if he could sense my fear. "Don't worry, I only want to talk."
"T-Then talk," I spoke up, sounding quiet and stuttering.
That just made him smile more, "I'm surprised, truly. How someone like you can end up with someone like Kaius-" the use of his name coming out of his mouth with no title made me physically cringe, "-I mean, he may play the innocent act now, but what happens when he goes back to his usual ways?"
"Wait-" I don't understand, "-what do you-you mean b-by that?"
He faked a look of shock, "Oh, I thought he would have told you. He may hold your hand out there and act like the perfect mate, but he wasn't always so nice. You do know what he did in France, right?"
"Wh-What did he do in-in France?" I stumbled over my words.
"He was young-" he smiled down at me, his eyes flicking to my lips as he watched them quiver, "-a child when he did it. We were friends at the time, he told me everything. Kaius was impulsive, angry, not to mention crazy enough to do anything that stood in his way."
He paused to see my reaction, "He told me that he had found his mate, that her family had the tools of a hunter-" he paused, "-and they also had an older son. Kaius wanted to see his mate so badly that he didn't think of the consequences of his actions. He came banging on the door until he finally kicked it in, he watched the woman scream while she held her child, her baby girl in her arms. Kaius told me how the son attacked him, a knife dipped in wolfsbane, but Kaius wasn't very good when his temper got in the way."
My knees threatened to give out, "I don't want to hear anymore," I whispered pathetically.
"The ending is good, I promise. Kaius killed him with his bare hands, but after he realized what he had done, well, it was too late. The mother had already lit the house on fire, burning the boy's body along with it. Kaius got out in time, but he couldn't find his mate again," he leaned down, "haven't you ever asked how he got that scar?"
He began circling me, walking around me and watching my every move, my every quiver. "It's odd, really. Everyone knew something was wrong, he never went to meetings, these parties were like something forbidden to him, and he never went to important birthdays or mating rituals as if he was jealous of others finding their mates. He always walked around with a chip on his shoulder, growling and glaring at everyone. He even shut me out completely."
I sucked in a breath once I heard harsh footsteps running towards the room, I didn't need to be a werewolf to hear them, nor to sense the anger in them.
"Haven't you ever asked how he got that scar?"
W O R D C O U N T : 1326
Part five, also known as the last chapter of my binge write.
I wrote the first two chapters in the first day, then I spent the rest of my time working on the next three of them.
I hope these were good. I tried my very hardest.
Honestly, working on My Little Love is such a good learning experience with writing. It's like once I finished this and start writing something new, I feel like it'll be better, writing and idea wise.
Anyways, enjoy!
